Love the final result! If the smell continues now that it's redone, you might have a leak from the tub and mildew is forming behind the wall. Something to look for down the road.
As another viewer mentioned, taking the hinges off a bifold door, adding another top and bottom pin (sold at hardware stores to anchor the second panel) and a second knob, doesn't take up any more space in the hallway and adds a lot more ease of access to the closet. Great idea for closet lighting!
It turned out simply beautiful!! I have that same linen closet with the shelves & board in the back hiding the plumbing from my bath tub! You have inspired me to paint it, add that wall paper sticker stuff because yes, cause the wall can't be covered. I've already expired plumbing issues & are addressed through that opening in the linen closet. Oh & I just got my 1st cricut ever the Joy🤗🤗 I haven't used it yet. Looking forward learning how to use it.
Aww thank you so much, Lizette! I can't wait to see what projects you create with your Cricut! Please share your projects with me whenever you finish them ☺️
@@tinalemac I definitely will. I've been following u for a while & after this linen closet I watched a few more of ur videos. Only to here u mentioned that u live in Chicago! Like what?? How didn't I know that! Lol🥰 I am to🤗🤗 no wonder ur layout is somewhat like mine😁 I'm in the south western suburbs Berwyn 🤗🤩
Omg the fact that you said you don’t use yours because it smells it the same reason I don’t use mine!!! I moved into a house and the cabinets stinky pooochie
@@tinalemac 😂😂😂...you were fixing up a house and I realized it was my grandmother's house. You thought it was your family's house. My grandmother's house was a two story, 4 bedroom and 2 bathroom. The dining area had an add on that I could tell ya'll about to prove it was my family's house. Probably had that dream because I was watching your videos before going to sleep...😴 🤦🏾♀️🤣
The entire makeover looks so cute, outstanding job with the paint, decor decals, and the labels!! I think if it were me though, I'd have stopped as soon as I found those holes in the back wall. The smell may be from mold, either from a current leak or from an old one. I'd have that looked at now rather than later, mold can make you quite sick.
Using the paint sprayer was genius. The decals are so cute and shout "happiness!" Your black top is very pretty 😌Thank you for the strip lights hack. The end result is perfect! Love it, Tina 😍
For the holes in the wall, I would build small doors. Cut them out nice and square (or rectangular) build a frame around and attach a hinged door. Also this isn't a linen closet, without any room for linens
How do you manage the over spray from your paint sprayer? I find that if I don’t cover EVERYTHING paint dust/over spray lands on it and me so much so I’m whatever color the paint is from head to toe. I paint a closet a bit bigger than yours and paint was every where! Any tips please?????!!!!!
Laughed when you said this video is sponsored by cricut…I’m watching while making some tote bags with my cricut! I had been thinking about getting one but your cricut sponsored videos and projects where what really encouraged me to finally buy one and so glad I did! Today is my first project with my heat press and loving it!
Look so good! I’ve got to get some of those strip lights for my linen closet & pantry. I can’t get over how bright they make the space. Genius idea! 🙌🙌🙌
If you feel like you need to access the pipes you could use that mdf or something like beatboard and make a panel and use hinges, that way all you need to do is remove the shelves which will keep it in place too and open it like a door and it will blend in Also that definitely looks like a smoke alarm, I would make sure the ones in the house are present in good spots and don’t need replacing, you can probably look online how to properly dispose of it
Tina, I did this to our linen closet and it really is a HUGE difference. I also changed the folding door into a regular door with brackets and added a new knob. Believe it or not, it gave us a lot more room. TFS!! xoxo
I actually changed the door on this from a regular door to a bifold door 🙈 It just gave me more door in the hallway when it's open, but I agree, it definitely gives you more room side to side!!
Possible Suggestion: Create a clean cut around the opening with a multi tool (if you have one). Then, istall an accessible panel door (similar to the door to an electrical panel). For shelves directly in front, you can do removable shelves or sliding shelves that slide out and can be removed and put back on track.
Hey, not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet, but I don't think that's a doorbell, if it has radioactive material in it, it's more likely a smoke detector! And I think you can just throw it away with your usual household waste :)
I'm in Europe but where I live a smoke detector has to be handed in to either an electrical supply store or as electrical waste at the recycling station.
Love it. Does anyone know what is attached to the sides of the closet that hold the shelves in place. They don’t look like the basic 1x2 cleats. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks 😊
Wow that is such a huge transformation Well done, I am definitely getting one of those under mount lights for mine. Thanks for another great video. What are you going to video when you’ve finished with your home diys?
Thank you so much, Kerry!! And I still have a long way to go before the house is finished, but I am hoping to work on my parent's house and other family member's homes in the future! (:
My uncle was a contractor and my mom loved to go help him paint and remodel. When working on a house where there was a smoker or it was just musty they would add a couple of cap fulls of peppermint oil in the paint. It would smell great and slowly fayed away.
Hey Tina! Love how the strip of wood at the edge really elevated the look of your shelves! I wish you would show us how you can utilize usable scrap pieces of your Cricut vinyl - at 6:34 it looks like there's 4-6 inches of uncut vinyl that you just wad up & throw away! Yikes!!!
The under shelf lights were a super idea! Now that you've used the closet for a while, will you build shelf extensions so things don't fall behind it and also to increase shelf space? Adding the decals to customize the walls was another great idea.
Another fab makeover! Tina! You never disappoint! I was thinking maybe cut out the board to fit around the vent so it is snug against the wall, & you won't have that gap, which could still be remedied by adding an extension. However, as long as your items are in baskets/bins, nothing will fall out from the back. Enjoy your day!
I LOVE THE WAY UR LINEN CLOSET CAME OUT IT LOOKS BEAUTIFUL...KEEP UP THE AMAZING JOB THAT U DO..I LOVE WATCHING UR MAKE OVER VIDEOS...U GIVE ME GREAT IDEAS!!! MUCH APPRECIATED N MUCH LOVE ❣
OMG Tina will you come and do my closets? To have such a cute organized space would be so awesome. As usual you did a fabulous job. I love the designs on the walls and the wooden strips on the shelves.

Love the transformation. But the video is so short. Expected a bigger makeover project.
Thanks!
Omg!! Thank you so much, Jude! I truly appreciate it and thank you for always showing so much love ☺️❤️
I love this project. How are the paper towels stored?
It's a smoke alarm! They use a small amount of Americium to detect smoke

How many strip lights did you use? Wonderful turn around👍
Looks great , definitely Pinterest worthy 🤍

Been impatiently awaiting your UA-cam video I fell asleep! I'm guessing you upload at 12 Sundays in my timezone yay
I got the same cart that you got but in one of the green colors! Lol!
Which light strip did you use?
Tina beautifully done❤️❤️ where are the lights from could you link it plz
Looks fantastic!
The closet looks bigger with the white paint and lights.
What is the font you used for the labels?

Holy crap how are you going to dispose of the radioactive alarm bell?!?!
I've been watching to much of Tina lately that I had a dream about her last night...😂

I appreciate this tip!! I haven't noticed any smells since painting it over, but definitely will keep this in mind 👏
Where are the white organizing bins from?♥️
That is I believe a smoke detector
I think it’s a smoke detector. I learned from an episode of Young Sheldon that they contain small amount of radioactive material. 😊

decals are so cute to look at when youre pulling stuff out to clean lol

The item that said Radioactive was an old smoke alarm. The most common type of smoke alarms have a small amount of americium-241.
Love it. It looks amazing. PS love your black top, to cute. Thanks for sharing

Aww thank you girl! The cart is from Target!
Hi Tina 👏👏👍👍😍😍thank you for your vidéo 😊
Thank you, Nicole!!!
side note but i love that matcha and sweet cream body wash!
Why the off key music? There is no reason for music in 90% of video's on UA-cam.....🙋🏼♀️🌷🇱🇺
Tina, I did this to our linen closet and it really is a HUGE difference. I also changed the folding door into a regular door with brackets and added a new knob. Believe it or not, it gave us a lot more room. TFS!! xoxo
I did the same with all of the bifold closet doors in my home, which added about 3-4" of easier access on each side!

I'm just gonna say why didn't you just build an access door? They sell slim white access panels for places like that

@@tinalemac Wow so plenty more Reno’s to come 👏🏼
Excellent makeover! I think that it would be useful to put a little tray with baking soda and coffee on the top shelf to absorb the smell....

So jealous of your organization in closet. Makes my brain feel so good thank you!
where’s your blue top from in the beginning portion of this video? it’s so cute! love the color and neckline.
This closet looks so cheerful and organized now! If those pipes get hot won't that make the wallpaper peel off?

I would check with your city or county waste management to see if there is a household hazardous waste location for the radioactive item
It really looks so good!!! Can you provide a link for the light you used?
How’s that the same closet 🤩🤩🤩 you’re the 🐐

ur puffy black top was super cute i love your cloths 💗💗
