The historic Garud Govind temple is located in Vrindavan and has an exceptional beautiful statue of Krishna installed on a Garud (eagle). It takes us back to almost 5000 years. As per the mythology it says that the child Krishna was here and Chati Pujan ceremony was held here.
Legend has it that after slaying demon Keshi (after which the ghat is named), Lord Krishna took a bath at this ghat. Keshi was the horse-demon that was sent by Krishna's evil uncle Kansa to kill him. Since then, devotees visiting Vrindavan make a point to take a dip in the holy water.
Nidhivan has a hearsay that Lord Krishna visits it every night. And that's not about it, there is also a buzz that he performs Ras Leela every night. It is considered to be the holiest place in the country where God literally has an abode.
What happens in Nidhivan at night?
No one is allowed inside the premises of the temple after the sun sets down. It is believed that Radha-Krishna come to the temple every night to rest. Anyone who has tried to see what happens in the night either dies, goes blind or lose their mental balance.
