Is it just me, or does Kraid in Metroid Dread seem… really old, decrepit, and sickly? The whole fight, I felt like I was putting him out of his misery.
@@meep6806 Yeah but chronologically by time he see samus in dread he was defeated in zero mission and super metroid because zero mission is a remake of the nes one, if you count dread then there would be 3 times.

All we've ever seen him do is guard Tourian (twice) and get captured by the Mawkin. I see him as more of a giant security guardian, because I can't imagine him leading raids or anything
I think he's a leader. Plenty of reasons for this: -Is one of the OG Tourian guardians in the original Metroid/Zero Mission -He canonically gets cybernetics just like Ridley and Mother Brain to heal his wounds, according to the Metroid Prime manual, so the Pirates did see him as having the same prestige and value as Ridley and Mother Brain if he was worth reviving. -In Super Metroid he gets his own lair built in his image deep in Brinstar, based off his original lair in the original NES game. Ridley is the only other boss in Super who got his own lair in his image, so Kraid is on the same level as Ridley or at least outranks the other two Tourian guadians, Phantoon and Draygon. -*MINOR DREAD SPOILERS* The last Chozo Memory you unlock in Dread for getting 100% items is a group artwork of all the primary Metroid series characters and antagonists, and Kraid was included alongside the other two original Metroid villains, Ridley and Mother Brain, to represent the Space Pirate leadership. The fact that he's the only other Pirate leader depicted besides the other two, who are both iconic Metroid villains, means that in both the lore of the Metroid series and in general, he's a principal Space Pirate and iconic villain of the series. Which is awesome imo.
Am I the only one who thinks the high pitched Kraid roar from Zero Mission sounds like the noises Phantamanta makes in Super Mario Sunshine? It'd make sense given the two games came out only a couple years apart within the same generation so it wouldn't surprise me to hear that Nintendo repurposed the same sounds for different things across games.

Ok hear me out. Kraid had been making more appearances, and Ridley has been absent more. Maybe Kraid is the new Space Pirate leader and was on ZDR for imprisonment. What if he could be the main antagonist in a future Metroid? I hope he's in Prime 4, imagine a 3D Kraid fight! I'm so glad that such an underrated character is making a comeback!
The sound effect of Kraid from Metroid Zero Mission actually kinda sounds like it was taken from Sound Ideas. I just came from a video discussing sound effects from Duke Nukem 3D, and one of the sounds effects of the monsters sounds like Kraid from Metroid Zero Mission.
Regardless if the how can we all give mad respect to Dread for bringing Kraid back in a mainline game since Zero Mission instead of dragging up Ridley's corpse yet again?
@@JiJ1511 "Scraping bits of Riddles off the walls". That...doesn't really make sense. Throughout the series, Ridley never actually died. It wasn't until Super Metroid that he was killed off for good. The last two times we see him after that, he's a clone. After Metroid Fusion, any doubts of the guys death are pretty much nonexistent.

Very much so. I started playing Metroid when there was only one game in the series, and this is the first time I was actually freaked out by Kraid.
I don’t think kraid is dead in dread, it looked like he dove into the lava to escape samus, that’s what I’d do after getting beat up by samus.

My guess is he's one of the experiments by Mawkin, he's either been (re)created as part of them or got caught and got experimented on by chozo later.
