- A suite of cuts from tracks 4, 9, 15 and 20 (Gwen & Arthur, Lancelot Leaves, and Farewell to Gwen, and Finale), very carefully crossfaded. So, this is not just a lazy copy-paste extended version of the "Arthur & Gwen" theme like others have uploaded. The volume has also been slightly manually adjusted, bit by bit, for consistency.
I do not own this music, I just edited it.

This show deserved one more season. Arthur’s death is how it had to end but I wish he was king long enough to bring magic back and work with Merlin. It would have made it a more fulfilling story

I agree with this deeply. Especially with his character growth at the end.
There is actually a season 6 for Merlin. The writers actually posted their complete script for season 6 and believe me, those scripts saved my depressed & broken heart.
The producers didn't want to push their luck. They wanted to end the show while it was still popular and the ratings were still high. Keep the audience wanting more, they said.
They knew what they were doing.
I wish the producers of Doctor Who knew when to give it a rest.

One of the best quotes of the whole show. Arthur would not be the king he was if it wasn't for merlin, hell he wouldn't have even lived long enough to be king. It's a tragedy that destiny had death planed so early for Arthur. He without a doubt was a great king with a great "manservant" at his side

I remember when I first started watching the show I wanted Arthur to be with Morgana, because to me at a young age 'princesses' belong with Prince's. I didn't know about the original story of Camelot either, but I do know my opinion changed drastically the first episode there was romance between Gwen and Arthur. Now I have a big soft spot for the Prince and the Pauper type love stories 😂😊😊😊

I just binged watched the entire show in the last like 6 days. I wish I couldve watched it as it aired. But I also think I would've gone crazy for Arthur to find out it was Merlin for 5 years. I wasn't really a fan of the ending.
Yeah the ending wasn't so great...but arthur and merlin had a great relationship. I actually liked the thrill and the anxiety of wondering for 5 years is this the time the secret will be revealed? or not? It was great. It still is great...but I have watched it so many times I can't watch it more...almost know every episode by heart. It was and is an awesome series.
rozyy21 I watched it as it came out and waited for years for Merlins secret to be revealed and I did love the thrill and their relationship, which is why the ending was so disappointing, Arthur never accepted him.
He did accept him in the end before he died.

as someone else said, this is the sound of arthur falling in love.
One of the reasons I love The BBC's Merlin so much is that it's one of the few Arthurian adaptations in which Guinevere chooses Arthur instead of Lancelot. The BBC's Merlin, King Arthur (2004 film) and books like Bernard Cornwell's The Warlord Chronicles trilogy & Peter David's Knight Life series all personal favorites of mine as they all feature Arthur & Guinevere together forever👍

I love the legend of King Arthur. I consider myself sooo lucky because my name - Gaynor - is a form of the name Guinevere, the name of Arthur's wife and Queen.
I love Merlin so much, that I have recently bought the DVD box set (27 disks) and I am not ashamed in the fact that I am going to indulge in one of my absolute favourite shows of all time.

I love Merlin, it's my favrorite serie ever, i just want to say that, a few years ago i write a partition of this song, and i try to do it on piano. I remember, that when i practise, my dad opened the door, with no emotion, i was sit next to my piano, he said thay my grandfather just passed away, my heart has dropped litteraly, i couldn't play piano for months, but when i heard this song, it's a special emotion that runs trough me.

i dont like gwenivere but this ost hits hard and makes this relationship on screen worth it. Furthermore with Gwen and Arthur together, its another reason why Merlin and Morganna shouldve been togher.
Gosh it's so frustrating seeing people spread rumours about Bradley being with Angel and Colin being with Katie WHEN IT'S NOT TRUE! Also saying that there's a series 6 written by the writers that's official...nope it's a glorified fanfiction.
I'm glad they were brave enough to end the show. So many shows get stale when they go on too long. Also it ended like the legend so I think it's fitting.
