Literally he’s saying they wrote on an album for Demi, Demi asked them to do her album with her. She wanted to do her first album with people she trusted in the studio, who knew her life story and that was them. Nick was even saying Demi, with his comment. Joe even sings on one of Demi’s first album songs, called on the line. You can actually hear their voices on all of her first album songs in the background. She spoke about it many times back in the days of her first album, because everyone wanted to know why she chose the Jonas Brothers, as her producers, even though they didn’t have a lot of experience at the time.

There’s a lot of comments about the semantics here, but I think it’s common practice for music writers to say “write for” when discussing projects. So if you write “for a song” or “for an album,” you’re not saying you wrote the album. Demi wrote the album and the Jonas Brothers wrote material for it.
I hope this is helpful to some folks, because I didn’t know others would see it the other way!
I don’t like comparing but personally I do feel Demi has the better catalogue too.

Basically, they didn’t write the album *for* Demi. She wrote and had heavy influence on her own artistry.
When Demi started to go on tour with the Jonas brothers, after a while, she started to succeed their fame and outgrew them, but the Jonas brothers kept trying to capitalize on the angle that they “made” her.
The same thing happened with Nick Jonas and Demi’s tour future now. Nick was struggling to keep momentum and he latched onto Demis loyal fan base. Demi was pretty big during this time like 2015-2016.
From an anonymous source, Demi had gone on to say that they had been using her from day one and she thought they were all friends.

First of all, Demi has the best music catalogue. And the right answer should be that they helped Demi write some of the songs (6 songs) of the album. They didn't wrote the album for her. Demi still remains the main songwriter of all the tracks of the album (as the others albums).
That was such a weird response from, Kevin. I think he followed it up with 'cause that was the one we had a part in', but he shouldn't have so emphatically said "cause WE WROTE the first album for Demi" in the first place. Kevin's gotta try to be more careful with his words.

What’s annoying is the Jonas Brothers CO-WROTE the album, they did not solely write the album. Demi WROTE majority of the songs and was a lead writer on almost all the songs on the album. How Kevin phrased it was weird and sounds like they’re taking credit for a whole project when Demi worked hard on it as well, they just helped on a few songs. He needs to correct his phrasing next time

The reason hollywood records asked them to help out with co-writing only 6 of the 13 songs was because Demi’s own lyrics were too honest and somewhat darker content for Disney, she was 15 years old covering content about depression and self harm at a young age which they deemed not appropriate for younger audiences. @@Swameh I prefer the Disney era voice of Demi's. I dunno why her voice has begun to sound quite nasal and irritant, even though her range and technique are at their peak. But she sounds so irritant live, shrill to an extent.
The one who has a pleasant high voice is Kelly Clarkson.
I love both of them but I became more of a miley fan and listen to her way more these last few years. Demi is brilliant and voice wise way better than miley and selena but I guess her lately music genre just didn’t impress me anymore. Her 2000s songs are the best ones though in my opinion

@sr96 what do you mean? they both have unique voices. miley has this irreplaceable, deep, hunk-like, seductive and sexy rasp in hers that sounds so good when played with an acoustic guitar while demi has a very powerful, strong, cutting voice that exceeds expectations when it's used in a rock band. one doesn't stand out more than the other just because of their voice - they're both well accomplished artists who are some of disney's best singers released.

What?! The Jonas Brothers wrote Demi's first album?! 😮 Anyway Miley definitely had the best Catalogue and it's not even close. Demi is a great vocalist but her songs barely charts or sells because they're kind of boring except for a few exceptions. Miley also had average songs but it's very few. Most of her songs are iconic and something you'd still be singing even years later. Like you listen to The Climb, Party In The USA, Wrecking Ball, When I Look At You etc. that had been release more than 10 years ago and all will still chart today.
