The rtr exb corrected a few things the kraton exb had problems with like the bumper pulling out. Thats how arrma is improving on the little things like that.
Try setting your avc on your dx5 to (steering ~18%) (throttle 0%) (priority 100%) it seems to work just right for me but it could be different for you due to different driving styles. love your content bro keep it coming.
Personally I love AVC on my Kraton, I've specifically bought a receiver with this function for it. Though I do keep it on the down low, but it does help me keep it straight on rough terrain.
In most AVC-e4nabled transmitters you should be able to adjust the "steering priority" option, setting that to higher will make the transmitter lower your base steering bias value (how much gyro assist you're getting) depending on how much you're turning the steering wheel, with maximum value completely turning the assist off at the endpoints of the wheel.
And throttle bias will auto-reduce the throttle if it sees your vehicle turn, so it helps with cornering and furthermore helps to retain control when it starts to fishtail on harder launches.
But the best part of AVC is how easy it is to just turn it off when you want it :)

The Talion looks awesome! Really love my Kraton.
Might consider turning Kraton into a Talion clone when body needs replaced.
It was even cheaper during the Arrmagetem sale where it was $699 less $75. Anyway, bought one and brought it back to the UK where it was excluded from the equivalent promotion. Love it, though its not currently going any faster than 43mph on 6S, so its really reassuring to hear that it should be quicker, stock. Will try another ESC re-calibration and some different lipos. My first 6S vehicle and Im blown away by how nice it is to drive. The unsung hero of the Arrma range.
Did you ever figure out why it was going 43mph?
@@kez850 I did. It needed a recalibration and then I upped the pinion size to an 18t. Now it does 65mph on 6S with Backflip 4S wheels which are only marginally bigger. No overheating issues.

@@kez850 Mines been in storage for the last six months due to poor weather in the UK. Its nice to have it back out. I would say that the LSD diffs are complicated so if you have a problem with one, Id suggest simply replacing it with a new one from a Breakers like Jennys RC but you may be a much better diff mechanic than me.

With stock setup i feel it's a bit too lazy for a track, stand the shocks up, shorten the rear links, and ideally also change to the v4 arms (they were stiffer) and it will handle much much sharper

I have a Talion Exb. I love it. Super fast and is pretty tough. Love the way it jumps.
Man id love to have one. I have no idea what 1/8 truggy id get but so far from what iv research the talion exb is takeing the lead. Do you think it is more durable then a old school HPI savage x 4.6 nitro ? I use to have one and I was happy with the durability. I also wanted the HPI Vorsa S truggy ( green one ) but it does not have a center tower brace and the front seems to sit to low for me . The HPI Savage XL v2 flux ( the orange one ) seems cool ( i loved my old school savage 4.6 nitro ) with the longer chassis but it has a weak servo and dean connectors id have to change. Team Corally has great components yet there durability is just terrible from what people have told me. The Team Corally Kronos XTR roller does come with a center brace and carbon fiber so mybie that would be improveing over there last one that never had that. No bumpers on there gunshow or tiny weak ones. What do you think bud ?
It looks stable and watching it run seems vary stable. I believe it would be a good first RC for most. That's the kind of tire I like too. Can't wait to see you rip around the track.

@@jah-jah87 dboots 4s backflips give it a small ride height increase, way better air control, and keep the nimble handling. Plus they’re cheap. No other hardware is needed since they’re both 17mm hexs
I changed the tires on my tailion cause i felt the same issue you did with it feeling slow due to wheel spin. I went with proline badlands. So far so good on the same terrain you did the test on. Only thing mine has broken is the steering servo after a year of owning it…

I love the Krayton 6s exb I'm running the Hobbywing max8 esc 2200kv motor combo with the 17t pinnion Talion tires/wheels for speed testing I clocked 67mph 3 passes, the Talion is an awesome speed truggy so I've heard lol great review MSM thank's for sharing 😉👍

@@leegorman3329 I literally spent 40 minutes debating between these too today at my local hobby shop and went with the talion because of the durability and performance. The sledge is very good looking but I’ve had so many problems with traxxas so I went with it. Plus it was $130 cheaper. I’ll update you on the car after a couple weeks

@@leegorman3329 the car is crazy fast and I crash into a brick wall at 40 mph and not even a scratch. It just doesn’t wheelie so you’ll want to try the dboots 4s backflip tires and get a new heatsiznk and fan for the motor and a new fan for the esc

Would you be able to talking about what “diffing out” is in a future video? I hear it mentioned all the time and have no clue what it means but I think it’s only with 4WD cars, right? I have a brand new Senton 3s BLX, I bought a 3s battery and barely ran it for 5-8 minutes at 50% power on the radio. It’s friggan stupid, what am I supposed to do with it? Lol it’s just spins out and does donuts and wastes tires. It’s dumb, I don’t see how anyone can run anything so fast and not destroy it. So I tried 2s 100c batteries and it’s still way stupid even at 75%. It’s almost undrivable. Is that what diffing out is? Just shiz going nutty? Or is it like an open diff/no limited slip?
I believe this car is the true comparison to the Sledge
Talion is a beast n parts are abundant, is a great buy.
I use gen ace 6000 6s lipo and it fit perfectly.
Love my Kraton to bash but sooo keen on getting an et48 2.0 for racing.. assume there is no way to make my Kraton Comparable in handling... curious to see how this does on a track and if could compare to a proper race truggy

When I was deciding which one to buy, the Kraton or the Talion. I chose the Kraton EXB, and now I am getting the Typhon TLR. I will get the Sledge also.
I run a kraton 6s exb and like all arrma cars came with almost no diff oil in lol, I have a good guide on how to stop the fron drive shaft poping out on all the arrma range too it hapens under compression hard braking or hard landing they run ok for a bit then throw a drive shaft or two lol good vid as always :)
Love the arrma line wish they would bring back there 6s big rock and make a new 4s line would be sweet.
Hey Mark how much heavier is the Talion than say a ET48 2.0?
I can fit a 6500 mAh 6s battery in my V4 Talion. Runs for a good long while with that I do to it. Battery is from SMC.
Just ordered one of these! I have a decked out m2c kraton and an outcast 8s exb. I cant wait to get this for track racing etc and I'm hoping it will be giving the teknos a run for their money
@Vape N Clash we have our own track "badlandz rc" that's more about fun than serious racing etc. We do have timing gear but again it's more about fun fast paced racing and big air sends off our mega ramp

Talion EXB is up there on my list, but I'm a bit hesitant. My experience with Arrma is with their 3s line (Granite and Typhon), and it honestly hasn't been great. I know a lot of people love Arrma, so I'm thinking if I try one of their more "premier" RCs, maybe I'll have a better experience.
Arrmas 3s is absolutely meh. There 6s line is where they shine forreal. Not even a comparison
@@carterthemotardguy8527 my Typhon is the V2 Typhon, and my understanding is that was the worst version of it for electronics. The Granite was pretty tough, but handled like crap and had basically the same electronics. I just may jump on their 6s line when I get a chance.

I'm no fanboy but I would lean towards the Arrma. They are proven tough and have good support. But also traxxas does these same things I just had a bad taste left in my mouth after the mini Erevo nightmare. They both look sick tho.

@@zachyurkus I bought one a few years back when I reentered the hobby after a little break. It was a super fast truck but working on it was a pain and it seemed like a money pit. I hated the shocks they were always super springy no matter what I filled em with and the slop on the knuckles was insane. I just had a bad experience with it. I also bought my son a Traxxas Slash that we cant keep together. I'm just done with traxxas. I only buy AE or Tekno now. That is what I call the "mini revo nightmare"

I’m still going to build “the Mojaton” Mojave/Kraton mo-hate-in ..I’ve seen a couple of them built..looks like everything I want in a basher/speed rc basically a Mojave exb with Kraton exb arms..lot like that new fireteam actually but I’m not sure it has exb chassis or parts yet? That brake function does sound interesting 🤔 and I like Mojave body best I love Baja 1000 style trucks

id check the mesh of the diff ring gears and pinion gears asap, when i checked mine after 2 runs and the rear diff pinion needed to be shimmed, it was that lose i feel like i dodged a bullet checking it early, also after 2 runs the motor pinion showed alot of wear so i replaced it with a r.w. pinion and it also sounds alot nicer and wont wear.

How were the diffs out of the box? Did you check fluid? Have to shim? I’ve heard stories of ppl finding the diff fluid low or dry out of the box. Having to shim them right away.
This is more like a Bruggy.lol Less truggy, more buggy. Truggy stance, truggy body. More Buggyish tires and handing than a truggy. Two Arrmas I love alot ; The outcast and the Talion. They give me the warm fuzzies like my Traxxas products: erevo2.0 or Trx UDR. Unique looking and driving vehicles with great wheels, tires and image right from the factory.
I set my AVC to 10%.

I Also hit Basher Queen up on eBay! and she said she's working on a set of front/rear shock tower adapters that will accept the new Traxxas Sledge Clipless body too, the shock towers for the Kraton are out on her site check out Earl Monroe's install video of the Sledge Clipless body on a Kraton!😍

I turned AVC all the way off on my Arrma Talion. I’m wondering how do you lock down the rear on the truck to get the most traction?
I put marine grease in the center diff and it worked wonders
