Dude you are 100% correct. Eli is the man. I was a junior in HS (in NYC) when he got drafted and watched his entire career. There were some ups and downs but I will never forget those SB wins over brady, the fact that he never missed a game for the majority of his career, his way of willing the team to victory in the 4th quarter of so many tight games. The guy probably shouldn't be a first ballot HOFer, but he definitely deserves to get in.
Too bad you left out the context. 32nd rushing offense? Not surprising since they were bottom 1/3 in the league in attempts. But, that still didn't stop them from having the 7th most TDs and 1 away from being tied for 3rd. Eli fans don't like to mention that part...... Top 10 all time? Eli was literally below average, but even 16 years of below average attempts will add up. His TD % was not in the top 70 all time. His yards/attempt..... I would tell you, but the list I looked at only went up to 90 and no Eli. He threw a lot. There is nothing magical about that. Clutch? No, he was kept in some high profile games by the defense that he had no business being in. Mr. Clutch was actually very consistent. At being below average in almost every situation. His career passer rating was 84.1, well below the NFL average. Mr. Clutch's 4th quarter/overtime passer rating was 83, which was below his below average career passer rating. But, when he wins 2 games that he was only in because his defense was doing the impossible, suddenly he's a 4th quarter marvel. In reality, he just was not that good.
Honestly he was an above-average QB who lucked out with having a legendary d-line to help him win 2 Super Bowls. Had he not had that d-line, he would be remembered very differently.
The most clutch QB ever, No way on Earth that the Giants beat the Patriots TWICE in the Superbowl without Eli. I honestly think the moment he broke 4 tackles to throw for the helmet catch is one of the great moments in sports and a great advert for why the NFL is so entertaining and unpredictable.
I'm a New York Jets fan and Eli Manning is the greatest quarterback that ever played in New York he won two MVPs in the Super Bowl and he won two Super Bowls he's one of the all-time greats
Top 10 all-time in every major passing category plus two Super Bowl MVPs that's more than enough to get into the Hall of Fame there are people there with significantly less
oh thank you, thank you. been having a rough week and this was maybe the funniest video i have ever seen. you are a comedic genius.whever i am feeling down i will watch this video!
Eli was what he was... The greatest NY Giant QB of all time... More then half of eli's interceptions where passes that bounched out the hands of his receivers. Eli had the worst luck in that area.
In this video alone there's at least 3 int that bounced of the receivers hands. At least 3 count em. I basically only watched football in this era and maybe every Giants game. Without a doubt at least 35% of piks were not his fault
Eli was underrated he played qb right he went thru reads check downs and made calls efficiently for everyone to adjust to defenses he made a lot of picks but none the less picks weren’t all his fault and when its said and done 2 rings couple probowls and undefeated in the playoffs before retiring
Im a giants fan. And criticized him because he had the talent just was really streaky. When he was good he put unbelievable numbers for 4-5 game's in stretches and of course there is the other end with 5 int games. But ask Giants fan now if we miss him, seeing how far this team has fallen. If he is not a Hof his coach needs to to be though.
Only QB to beat Tom Brady in the Superbowl not once but twice. Manning's biggest issue is that he is so humble. Of course he's earned the right to be in the Hall of Fame.
He didn’t have a team that could back him up his O line was terrible in 2014, 15, and 16 were amazing seasons for him and also 2011 being his best for him 29 TDs 16 INTS Over 4,900 yards Won the division and also won the superbowl Every time he went against the pats it was very close but he won them
Retired top 10 all time for yards and QBs and never had the freedom Peyton did, and had a bunch of years where his O line was not good. Also the two plays you're thinking of just set up Eli to beat the Pats. In each case, Eli still had some work to do and either game it could've easily went south.
Eli is captain clutch, nobody thougt the giants would win any of their games during both Superbowl wins one of the greatest ever stephen A shouldnt even b an analyst
He never seemed to be affected by the situation around him once he settled in. I once joked that he tripped over 2 Lombardis but he was a big part of those seasons. I think he was overrated coming out of high school and college because of the name but he grew into it and surpassed expectations. He's also the funniest of the Mannings.
You will never for the rest of your life see one man will a team to a Super Bowl and win it like he did in 2011. He gets alot of flack for the turnovers, but the truth is that was in many years part of the calculated risks he took in attacking vertically. Eli is one of the best vertical throwers EVER (something that is diminished in today's more horizontal passing game, and also a reason people misevaluate him), and it certainly backfired its fair share, but more often than not I've seen him negate entire halves of good football by his opponents in one play.
2016 Tom Brady would like a word. Literally gambled on every 3rd and 4th, clawed his way all the way back and won. Eli was Brett Favre without any of the positives.
They look at the near end of his career and say yeah that was he was. Yes he have good defense when he won the two super bowl but that defense didn’t win it he did! 💪
What? Brady has 9 - 4th quarter comebacks in the playoffs alone you lame casual . Brady is 3-0 in the playoffs in OT , Brady has an astronomical 14 game winning drives on last possession in the playoffs , he's thrown for an insane +300 yards in the playoffs 19 times. Sober up and check into rehab already . Brady has thrown for 4/5 of the top passing games in SB history (Mahomes 0)
@@ImAGoldenGod-yx6by Mahomes is 7-for-7 converting playoff drives with under a minute left in regulation and trailing by seven or fewer points. He is the only perfect player in those situations since 2001. Meanwhile, Tom Brady is 5-for-11 (46%) and the league average is 40% in that span. The Chiefs have had 21 potential game-tying or go-ahead drives in the fourth quarter or overtime in the playoffs with Mahomes. They've successfully tied or gone ahead on 15 of those drives. That's good for a conversion rate of 71%, which is the best by any QB since the turn of the century way ahead of Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers, who are tied for second at 53%. Take Brady out your mouth lil bro.
Eli Manning is the ultimate under dog of the NFL, always appeared average-above average during the season yet always had flash's to show off and was a force to be reckoned with once playoff time came. If people we're betting against Eli Manning and the Giants that was the time to bet for them! Always seemed to beat all odds while keeping his head down and staying classy.
True. Don't forget that you have to look at the numbers at moment of retiring. He was top 7 in both passing yrds and TDs, while not even being top 10 in INTs (unlike Farve or his older brother Peyton). He also holds, to this date, the record for passing yrds in 1 playoffs. And people always say he had good teams around him...: the D was mid tier and dead last in rushing yards, in the SB year. He has NOT 1 HOF on any of his teams on offense and ONLY 1 total HOF teammate (for 4 years, Michael Strahan). How many other HOF QBs can say the same? without supporting HOFers?? His WRs were Barden, Randle El and he made Cruz / Steve Smith Pro bowl WRs, who did not pan out when they left the Giants. Just look at the amount of times he put the team up, only to see the team lose because the D couldnt stop the opponent from marching down the field for a game wining TD or FG. So focussing on team records, doesnt do justice to the player. IMO he is a HOFer because of what you and I said.
“…but when the post season came around, there was no one like Eli Manning!” Are we gonna ignore how the year after they beat the undefeated patriots they got the first round bye and lost in their first playoff game? Eli was not that good in the post season. he was only good in the post season if they were facing the odds being so stacked against them it seems like they’re cooked. stop selling narratives just tell us how good he was
Clutched when it mattered. When it worked it worked. You see modern quarterbacks with worse comp that can't even do it right lol. No hate to them though they are all talented in their aspects
Eli Manning was an above average QB who was extremely durable who managed to win 2 extremely fluky titles with wildcard teams. To his credit, he was extremely clutch during those title runs, leading game winning drives in both Super Bowls to beat Tom Brady. I know it sounds like I'm knocking him, but those are the stone cold facts about his career, regardless of the rewriting of history Giant fans in this comment section will attempt to do.
@@TheGridironYTno he didn't, he never won a playoff game where his opponent scored more than 20 points, he's lucky his defense kept the score down for him in his 2 Super Bowls 🤣
@@thecrazynodak Eli accomplished a number of firsts and set multiple records during those runs. One brother played with stars and choked when it mattered. One brother played with role players and delivered when it mattered. I’m taking Eli over Peyton. I have to say better than Rivers who despite having Gates, LT, and WR like V Jackson never made a SB. Not quite as good as Big Ben who had a lot more around him. I'd say he was very good but somewhat inconsistent, clutch in playoffs and carried the team in 2011.

We know the arguments against him --- a .500 W-L record, lots of intereceptions, never a First Team All-Pro or MVP candidate etc. But it's the uniqueness of his career that earns him entry in the HOF. It's the two Super Bowl runs combined with solid play and consistency over time. yeah ppl seem to forget how he was a one man army for a lot of his career, & even with obj’s flashiness, it’s not a coincidence that obj fell off hard after leaving eli & the giants, same goes for most of eli’s number one receivers during his career
LBJ fell off due to injuries
If his brother wasn't Peyton we might look at him differently. I think he was awesome!! He was one of those sneaky good types.
Exactly
Honestly he was an above-average QB who lucked out with having a legendary d-line to help him win 2 Super Bowls. Had he not had that d-line, he would be remembered very differently.
Tru that
The most clutch QB ever, No way on Earth that the Giants beat the Patriots TWICE in the Superbowl without Eli. I honestly think the moment he broke 4 tackles to throw for the helmet catch is one of the great moments in sports and a great advert for why the NFL is so entertaining and unpredictable.

I guess he played on that defense too that was shutting Brady down
Eli was what he was... The greatest NY Giant QB of all time... More then half of eli's interceptions where passes that bounched out the hands of his receivers. Eli had the worst luck in that area.

Nope. He led the league in picks 3 times. You CANNOT blame that on receivers lol.
In this video alone there's at least 3 int that bounced of the receivers hands. At least 3 count em. I basically only watched football in this era and maybe every Giants game. Without a doubt at least 35% of piks were not his fault
We were so lucky to have Eli & he’s so loyal to the Giants & the fans after retirement. I love getting to see him on all his side quests lol
His side quests r hilarious
Eli was underrated he played qb right he went thru reads check downs and made calls efficiently for everyone to adjust to defenses he made a lot of picks but none the less picks weren’t all his fault and when its said and done 2 rings couple probowls and undefeated in the playoffs before retiring
Facts he was heavily underrated
Im a giants fan. And criticized him because he had the talent just was really streaky. When he was good he put unbelievable numbers for 4-5 game's in stretches and of course there is the other end with 5 int games. But ask Giants fan now if we miss him, seeing how far this team has fallen. If he is not a Hof his coach needs to to be though.

In the playoffs Eli was on fire. His supporting cast on offense was lacking, defense played outstanding. He was perfect for NY
For real
They beat the Pats twice on two freak plays. I liked Eli, but he's not up with the best. He was good until he no longer was.
He didn’t have a team that could back him up his O line was terrible in 2014, 15, and 16 were amazing seasons for him and also 2011 being his best for him
29 TDs
16 INTS
Over 4,900 yards
Won the division and also won the superbowl
Every time he went against the pats it was very close but he won them
Retired top 10 all time for yards and QBs and never had the freedom Peyton did, and had a bunch of years where his O line was not good. Also the two plays you're thinking of just set up Eli to beat the Pats. In each case, Eli still had some work to do and either game it could've easily went south.
He had some stats without a great offense to work with
Eli was cold as ice in the post season
Eli is captain clutch, nobody thougt the giants would win any of their games during both Superbowl wins one of the greatest ever stephen A shouldnt even b an analyst

He had alot of picks because of system, Kevin Gilbride ran a run and shoot style offense with option routes which lead to boom or bust plays
Great point! Hadn’t thought of that
Am I wrong in remembering that Eli is 500 in the playoffs? That he never won a playoff game outside of the 2 SB runs?
True, he never won a playoff game outside of the superbowl runs
8-4. 4 wins in 2 superbowl runs, 1 and done 4 other years
@@kpk33x Right! He's .500 all time
It’s 8-4 overall but I know what u mean

I once joked that he tripped over 2 Lombardis but he was a big part of those seasons.
I think he was overrated coming out of high school and college because of the name but he grew into it and surpassed expectations.
He's also the funniest of the Mannings.
He’s def the funniest and the better rapper
Eli is a Hall of famer
You will never for the rest of your life see one man will a team to a Super Bowl and win it like he did in 2011. He gets alot of flack for the turnovers, but the truth is that was in many years part of the calculated risks he took in attacking vertically. Eli is one of the best vertical throwers EVER (something that is diminished in today's more horizontal passing game, and also a reason people misevaluate him), and it certainly backfired its fair share, but more often than not I've seen him negate entire halves of good football by his opponents in one play.
Tru that he really made the field more vertical. That’s why the giants were never really out of any game
2016 Tom Brady would like a word. Literally gambled on every 3rd and 4th, clawed his way all the way back and won. Eli was Brett Favre without any of the positives.
AND to be fair, he DID have to suffer on the Giants his entire career... lol

Second most clutch player of all time behind Mahomes yet he’s so disrespected.
Exactly
Yep, he always had a chance in the playoffs
Yeah especially all those times he and the giants were 1 and done in the playoffs.
@@keithratel6590 He also has a .500 record all time.
As an Eagles fan, I wish Eli could have played forever.
😂 let’s go
It still boggles my mind that he has as many Super Bowl victories as his brother.
He’s clutch
Given how the giants feel about Daniel jones it makes me feel we took Eli for granted at times
lol yea exactly I miss the Eli days
💯💯💯💯💯
Hall of fame caliber for sure.
💯
“…but when the post season came around, there was no one like Eli Manning!”
Are we gonna ignore how the year after they beat the undefeated patriots they got the first round bye and lost in their first playoff game? Eli was not that good in the post season. he was only good in the post season if they were facing the odds being so stacked against them it seems like they’re cooked. stop selling narratives just tell us how good he was
Eli haters stay hating
He’s the Giants 🐐
All true but he was great during the regular season in 2011 when he carried that bad team to the POs by owning the 4th Q.
A average qb that got rings because of his defense rivers was the better qb overall rivers imo
Eli carried that offense tho. Rivers threw picks when it mattered most
@@TheGridironYTno he didn't, he never won a playoff game where his opponent scored more than 20 points, he's lucky his defense kept the score down for him in his 2 Super Bowls 🤣
@thecrazynodak Rivers lost a playoff game when the opponent scored 17 points.😂😂😂
Ha.
Rivers is like LOOK AT HOW MANY YARDS AND KIDS I HAVE.
That's all he has.
@@thecrazynodak Eli accomplished a number of firsts and set multiple records during those runs. He did that while having a different set of receivers for the 2 SB runs and being sacked 20 times by defenses that had an average rank of 10th. The defense was excellent in point prevention but part of the reason was b/c the offense won the time of possession by an average of 5 1/2 minutes per game (33 1/2 to 28).
2007:
Vs Cowboys: Could have put the game away on either of 2 drives. Didn't get a first down either time.
Vs Packers: Intercepted in overtime, but defense got a turn over. Didn't have a single attempt on the "game winning" drive that he is credited for.
Vs Patriots: Brady held to 23 points below his season average, Eli still barely manages to win. Eli is the MVP.
Seriously, he was almost 100% carried by the defense. He was not remotely as good as his fans think he was.

He had 2 great postseason runs. But he had many. many awful regular seasons that were NOT Hall of Fame worthy. The truly great quarterbacks were more consistent throughout their careers and could make even their average teams competitive.
His teams were always mediocre tho. The management didn’t give him much to work with

"...many. many awful regular seasons that were NOT Hall of Fame worthy." He had 3 that were awful (07, 13, 17) out of 14. You don't make 4 PBs and have 2 other Top 10 seasons if you have many awful years. " Riiiiiiight. Hakeem Nicks, OBJ, eTc, etc, etc." The defense had an average rank of 19, the rushing O 17, and the O-line 16. Those receivers that you mentioned did their best work with Eli. He had the Manning name and played decent enough foot ball in two post season runs behind the best defense of the decade to put him self in position twice to clutch the Supperbowl. Ok those are some decent acolades. Oh he also made the post season 4 other times and lost in the first round, and then there are the 9 seasons he didnt make the playoffs, or his .500 career record. We know the arguments against him --- a .500 W-L record, lots of intereceptions, never a First Team All-Pro or MVP candidate etc. But it's the uniqueness of his career that earns him entry in the HOF. It's the two Super Bowl runs combined with solid play and consistency over time. Only two QBs are in the Top 10 in every major passing category and have won two Super Bowls MVPs: Brady and Eli Manning. Eli still holds the record for most passing yards in a single postseason. (While the first Super Bowl win was more historic, the 2nd Super Bowl was more impressive -- he really took that team on his back) He's never had a HOF teammate on offense, and he's arguably, the most clutch postseason QB of all time. It's a pretty easy call.

But was that (the most passing yards in a single postseason) because of more postseason games due to a lower seeding. I’m only asking that as I haven’t checked it.
@@genorgeanaplaszio1246 Yes.
