I just fractured my ankle and it's one of the best things that's happened. Like you mentioned, it gave me deeper appreciation for the small things I took for granted and allowed me to work from home for a couple weeks, removing myself from a toxic work environment, thereby allowing me to have space to evaluate my next career move.

Totally agree! Ironically I used to work from home before my accident happened. Then I switched completely to off-line jobs and now I wish I was back in remote work!! Evaluating this too....Have you made a career decision yet?
I'm 4 weeks out (tomorrow) from surgery for my trimalleolar fracture. Stitches are out and starting to move my ankle back and forth. Hoping to begin walking again in 3-5 weeks. 😬 My surgeon will remove my syndesmosis screw at 4.5 months to increase range of motion. I'm doing all this with a three month old infant!
All of this with a 3 month old?! You are a rock start! Holy shit! You gotta let me know how that goes! My syndesmosis screw broke and he said there is no real reason to get back in there and take it out.
You are AMAZING!! 👏🏻 I’m 10 weeks post surgery at this point, no longer wearing the boot, and relying on the walker only when I need to (which is when I first get up from sitting down or when I’ve just been standing up for too long). It’s been so gratifying to stand up and walk on my own! I was actually amazed at how quickly I regained the ability to walk. It felt awful at first…but after about a week I was already managing without the walker. Now I’m all in with PT 3x/week and home exercises on the off days. Dorsiflexion is the biggest area for improvement. Once again, I am so glad I found your videos when I did. Just that companionship of seeing someone else go through the same traumatic experience meant so much.
Hell YEAH! Thank you so much for your kind words and for sharing your journey! It's incredible to hear how far you've come in just 10 weeks! The transition from relying on a walker to walking on your own is a monumental step, and it's a testament to your resilience and dedication to your recovery. Dorsiflexion can indeed be a challenging. How is your balance and stability? Did they try the laser exercise with you yet? Recovery can often feel isolating, so knowing that my content has helped you in some way is incredibly gratifying for me as well. We're all in this journey together, and I'm rooting for you every step of the way!
Earned myself a left trimalleolar fracture on the 11th of this month, had surgery on the 14th. Just had my 2 week post op yesterday and am out of the boot as often as I want, starting exercises. This definitely gives me hope that I can make some good progress while stuck non weight bearing for the next 4-6 weeks, and that life will eventually return to normal. I'm a nurse accustomed to being on my feet 12h+ a day, and having to rely on family and wonderful friends has been both a blessing, and an emotional rollercoaster. I'm going to try and head home to my apartment this weekend to do independent living again, and am so happy to have a goal to work towards!
This is the mindset to have!!! Im sorry you eared an ankle fracture haha. I wish it was something else but welcome to the club!! These next few weeks are going to be rough. They are going to test you mentally and physically. Hell even emotionally but as long as you stick to your why I’m sure you’ll get back.
I AM GOING THROUGH IT NOW WITH A A BROKEN ANKLE. LORD ITS SO HARD. DEC 1 2023. SITTING AT A LIGHT. GOT HIT BROKE ANKLE IN THREE PLACES. I PRAY TO GOD WHEN I CAN WALK AGAIN
I had surgery April 24th had my fibula broke and tibia dislocated. I’ve taken my first steps during week 8, for me that was Wednesday. My ankle hurts a lil bit after walking for about 20ish yards but with time you’ll be aight.
@@teresagwaltney1202 i can trot at like 5mph now but for maybe 30seconds. I can walk fine now i still do my therapy when i can. 21weeks post surgery now
having partial atfl and being in a cast for 6 weeks without needing a surgery looks so easy comparing to these stories and yours as well, yet my mental health is being destroyed that my life paused for a period of time, but it gave me hope that i will definitely be better and it kinda keeps me sane thank u
You just have to take it one day at a time... It’s def a mental struggle but just know YOU have the power to overcome it. You just have to take messy action\
Hello, I just broke my ankle , in 2 places. And now I feel like I'm right back where I was , not even 2 years ago . I had right hip replacement. And now I'm using all the same things I used then, and now. Like my potty, couches and so on. I was just walking down my steps, from up stairs, and just fell down the steps. UNBELIEVABLE!!😖😓😩😣😫. Now all I do is cry. My husband has to once again help me in the shower , and everything else. I feel like I just went through this same thing , like 3 month a go . So close to having my hip replaced. I couldn't do so much last year in the yard. I said ok this spring I should be much better . And able to do things. Now this. I have a plate and 10 screws in my ankle. I get my staples out on this coming Thursday. So pray for me . I have a low pain level 😢. And I'm now out of work. And you know what that means. I could just give up. All I do is cry cry cry. I'm 64 years old female. And was thinking what to do next year. The pleasure from my hip is just something to deal with. So I was thinking of retirement. Now my ankle. Don't know what to do ? But I want to thank you for this video. It has given my some hope and inspiration . Thank you so much.
Hey, how is everything going? Did you get the staples out? But I’ve been there. My girlfriend was giving me birdbaths cooking all my food. I felt so helpless but the thing is is you just gotta keep positive as much as you can I know it sucks but you gotta stay positive because that is the only thing that’s going to help you get better.
Had severely broken ankle. Had to wait 3 weeks for surgery as emergancy put my first cast on wrong. Developed a sore and cellulitis. Surgery went well. Now have complete healing of bones however deveoped bad artophy in all leg, foot and even arms. Could not get into PT for 1 and a half months after cleared for full weightbearing. Start next week and Im scared. Mentally and physically overwhelming. Not only for me but my husband too😢
Oh gosh , how on earth could they left you with no surgery right after the accident? In which country that happened? I hope you are doing fine now, I hope you can tell me how is the physiotherapy going with you ? Is there is so much pain and can you now step on your foot and bear weight alittle 😢😢😢 8:24
I am 55 and sustained a trimalleolar fracture Dec 17, surgery Dec 19, discharged Dec 20. Second cast and 36 staples removed Jan 5 and went to Air cast. In pool Jan 15 after incisions completely heeled. At 6 week check up had been walking for about a week in the Air Cast, at home do not wear it. Beginning March I am walking in regular boots, ankle a bit stiff, can lift my good foot off the ground and balance on my damaged ankle. Plates both on fibula and tibia. 7:10
Stephen I’m sorry to hear about that! You are now part of the fractured few! 36 staples is a lot! Holy smokes walking at 6 weeks is insane. I was still stabbing myself with lovenox laying in bed. How’s it feel walking on concrete??
@@TheHealthyYinzer I just got out of the pool - I have been finishing the last few weeks with walking a lap around the pool to the change room, which is a change from Jan 15 when I took my knee scooter down to the deep end bleachers, had my suit on under my sweat pants, where I would park the scooter, take off the air cast and sweat pants then scoot on my but the 10 feet to the pool and slide in.
@@TheHealthyYinzer I am a swimmer/triathlete/water polo guy and I have a lot of personal experience in pool therapy from decades ago (another story), so the pool is definitely an enormous aid. From Jan 15 I hit the pool every morning. The pool is a 50m Olympic so I could transition from deep water to waist deep water. I have done every exercise in my bag of tricks. Even when swimming the gentle resistance of the water helps stretch the ankle - of course I am not kicking like a sprinter, mainly my kick is focussed on stretching and range of motion, whether it is flutter kick, breaststroke kick, fly or eggbeater. Doing pull sets I dorsal flex, plantar flex to stretch those aspects of the ankle.
April 12, my 3 month (a little over because I was away) X-ray and check up. Everything is good, Dr. said bone is completely healed and excellent range of motion, tendons will take a little longer to heal, and the torn cartilage that was removed will not help, but I can run across the street if I needed to and If have been given the OK to start running/jogging. A few weeks ago I started using Merrel Trail Cloud shoes at work and for around. These are a barefoot type of shoe and I can go for a stretch at any point. I am liking them. For running I will use the Hokas that I am used to. Now that the ice is off the trails I can walk the dog in there but will use a high-ankle hiking boot with good support and traction for roots and off-camber. All in I would say a decent recovery.
I love this! I hope this can bring you some hope! Yes, I’m still in some pain. We have our good days and bad days but we can’t be defined by this injury.
Fractured my ankle/tore the tendon august 2023 and had the surgery october 2023. It have rods/plate in my ankle and in in my 7th week of physical therapy. Working on getting my mobility back. Mentally i struggle at times cause I want to get back to my regular self. Its definitely a process
@TheHealthyYinzer I had surgery May 2nd. The doctor said my foot is really stiff. I couldn't even put it on the ground at a 90° Angle. I'm hoping I'll be able to walk if everything is fused by my next appointment. I had a Double Arthrodesis Arthritis Achilles Lengthing and Tibial Autograph Surgery.
I love this video! Trimalleor fracture surgery on Feb 29th. I'm currently in a boot, non weight bearing until April 15. After that day hopefully he will let me start weight bearing. He has not sent me to PT yet so I've been searching for exercises to do. Thank you for the advice, it helps so much!!❤
Good! Thank you! I start PT next Wednesday. I'm 50% weight bearing now with 100% by May 16th and the boot comes off. I'm really glad you made your videos - not that I enjoyed seeing you hurt like that..but you know what I mean. They have helped lift my spirits. I'm really active and I just want to get going again. But pain has a way of making me slow down a bit 😊. I have noticed that just bc I'm 54, an injury like this is hard no matter the age. I think it helped that I was reasonably fit before it happened and that has helped a lot. But boy, had no idea how fast you can lose fitness sitting on your ass for weeks. 😊
I fractured my ankle 2/25/2024 My surgery was about 3wks later. I'm 10wks out of surgery 2wks weight barring. Struggling to find a professional physical therapist. Your testimony is Inspiring. Thank you so much for this information
Thank you for this video! I have never broken my ankle (sprained once), but these videos and discussing recovery from injuries was extremely educational. I just started practicing yoga and for recovery after workouts it has helped with mobility and flexibility. My ankles actually enjoy it. I hope you continue to recover and inspire everyone.
Thank you for the kind words! Once you can attach your workouts to something you want to improve you are more likely to stick with it. Let me know if you have any questions about flexibility and mobility!
Hey bro. I fractured tib, fib and something else down there a month ago. Im now 2.5 weeks post op. In a cast. Swelling good and sutures out. Lonely time! Thanks for the positive reinforcement, im pretty confident I'll be getting there by sort of week 8 post op, fingers crossed. Cheers from New Zealand 🎉
Hello, I broke my fibula while playing soccer on May 12th, 2024. Done with surgery on 15th, 1 plate and 6 screws. On May 31st, Doctor removed my cast and 21 staples. You have been such an inspiration to me since yesterday. I have started applying ice and using rollers to loosen the stiffness in muscles. Keep up the good work you are doing by educating others in need.
This means so much to me! I wish you the best on your recovery! Are you planning on playing soccer again? Also, if you’re dealing with stiffness, I highly suggest getting a tens unit and or a massage gun like the Theragun
Oh my gosh!! I am 7 months out from a double ankle fracture (trimal on one side and pilon/talur on the other). This is so inspiring thank you for sharing
I’m so glad I found this video. Not the same injury but I had PTTD repair surgery end of March. I’m so afraid to start walking but so sick of the knee scooter. Thank you for all this great advice.
@@TheHealthyYinzerI mostly gave up the scooter and have been using a walker exclusively. I think I’m about 70% weight bearing. Occasionally I’ll take a few steps without a walker but need something to steady myself. The surgical foot is still very tight and swells daily. There’s been definite progress but I still think I have a long way to go. This recovery has been very difficult, both physically and mentally. I appreciate you checking in. 💜
Had my fracture on the 3rd March. I took the recovery process for granted....but damn...this is such a struggle to get my foot balanced. Thanks for these insightful video.
I ended up with avascular necrosis of the left ankle, had a scope and debridement with ore decompression 2/20/2;. It was better for awhile, then worse again. Now looking at an ankle joint replacement in the next few months. Than you for the fios, definitely know how important the mental and spiritual part of this is!!!
@@TheHealthyYinzer i have appointments with two surgeons for second opinions (my rheumatologist request). But what i am told from the surgeon that did the scope is there is a specific ct scan they send the information to a place on the east coast that makes the implant from those ct images to make it specific for the individual. That usually takes about 4 weeks. Then for the surgery, they make the incision, take out the section they are going to replace, and the implant goes directly in. I was told by doing it that way, the patient is under anesthesia about 45 minutes less than the way they previously performed the replacements
2 weeks after triple malleolar surgery 😢😢I doing all I can do to speed recovery, I am happy founding your video because ultimately this is ALL on us to achieve the full recovery. I love yoga, I love to jog. I am pretty sure ❤❤😊 I am going to be fine. Thanks for this video.
Thanks for posting all these videos. Broke my ankle and tib/fib about a week and a half ago. I opted not to have surgery since it was only recommended for a shorter healing time. Yesterday I got the splint off and was put in a full leg cast. When I say full I mean from my toes all the way up to just below my hip. I’m told hey will change the cast every 3-4 weeks but I’ll be forced to wear a long leg cast for at least 12 weeks depending how well it heals. I’m told not to put any weight on my leg at all. Only weight allowed is the weight of my leg when I sit or lay down. Did you have a hard time getting used to the cast? It doesn’t hurt, but I can feel that it’s on all the time! It’s really tight, but the tech that put the cast on said that it’s normal and I’ll eventually get used to it. How long did it take you to get used to having your cast on? Any tips on how to get comfortable when trying to fall asleep? And were the insides of your hands really sore from the crutches? Any tips or tricks to help me get through this would be great! I’m glad to see you’re doing so well!
Man that sounds rough! How bad was the break? I never heard of just using a cast to heal it. That sounds very uncomfortable haha. Being that I had ti sleep on my back abd keep my leg elevated on the wedge…. I had to get one of those back pillows with the two arms to keep me upright. As for the crutches…. Make sure they are fitted properly. I had that issue at first and it was resolved once I lowered them. It’s a tough injury man. Mentally and physically. Do you have a massage gun or anything like that?
I broke my ankle and dislocated it May 30th. Had an external as well. Had my second surgery on the 15th if June. Now I'm in a cam boot. My medial malleolus currently is having difficulty of healing but my mobility has improved. I ended up gaining 35lbs because of being immobile. (LAME) Thank you for your videos because because I have had some serious depression because of this injury.
The depression is real. There is no denying it. From the weight gain to muscle atrophy... it gets dark. Then we turn on social media and see everyone living their life... Let's try to switch the mindset into a growth mindset. The injury happened and there's nothing we can do about it. The one thing we can do is what is in our control. We have time so lets use it wisely...What hobbies do you have? Is there a new skill you have been wanting to learn? For me, I learned how to do pour painting and started to really get good at it haha
Read the comments with interest. I am 7 weeks post-surgery (# tib/fib just above the right ankle) and walking - albeit slooowly - without any aids. My ankle is getting stronger however my other challenges are hammer toes (never had them before) and a delayed suture reaction, so my scar is inflamed. Also back ache from bending awkwardly. However, mind set is everything. I know this accident happened for a reason and - like you - I am making the best of it. Yes, I do wonder "silly" things like "Will I ever run again?" 'Course I will! My first physio is next week, looking forward to some targeted exercises. I do of course have times when I feel low and about 100 years old lol.....but then I think of an inspiring activity I can reasonably do or phone a friend - and sooner or later I am on the up again. So far it's been a huge learning curve....
@@TheHealthyYinzer Generally upbeat. However I took an unexpected step/jump back yesterday as something startled me, landed relatively hard on a curb with the ball of my affected foot and have now bruised that part as a result. Nowhere near the op site but - what would have been a perfectly fine move otherwise with no consequences - has now resulted in the ball of my foot being quite sore, my limping more again and considering a course of analgesics. Just goes to show how vulnerable one becomes!!
Nick, great story. I fractured my calcaneus 2 years ago May. Heal fracture completely healed, but numbness still exists from upper right side of ankle to entire foot. Im told the nerve blocker causes the numbness. I disagree, i believe and asking you if the nerves were damaged during surgery. What say you?
Yeahhhh I would disagree. I just got done working with a client who was dealing with similar issues. His foot was purple and his leg was numb on lateral part of his leg. We found out was he had limited mobility in a lot of the stabilizer muscles weren’t activated. Once we did this for a period of three months it went away if you would like more on how I helped him send me a message on Instagram or email me
2 weeks out of surgery tomorrow. Trimalleolar fracture with 15 screws, and a plate. Today I was feeling really down, and this video helped me so much. Any pain after 2 years? Thank you!
Wow that’s very nice of you to say that! I’m sorry to hear about the ankle but just remember there’s a bunch of us in here that have been in the same situation! 2.5 years later I can say….the things I hav been doing works. Daily stretches, calf raises throughout the day, Theragun, switching my shoes, etc. there’s a lot of things that will change but if you put your best foot forward (no pun lol) you can get through this
I do but I have been able to manage it with cannabis, exercises m, and new shoes. The problem is not being able to kick, play hockey, run, jog, stand for long periods
You should be getting to point where cast will come off and stitches or staples are removed. Perhaps the best aid I got was a knee scooter, it was great for work (I borrowed one) and was so great I picked up another on FB marketplace that I kept in the car. The same person I borrowed the knee scooter from also had a peg leg, which I did not use as much, the only time I used that was in the first 2 weeks where I was supposed to stay in bed - my kids were back from uni for Xmas (I broke just before Xmas) and the peg leg was good for doing laundry and cooking meals. I had crutches and a cane from my ACL and MCL surgeries years ago, just used the crutches to get up and down my house steps to my car. At least I have an automatic and my left ankle was broken so it did. It affect my driving.
The real video should be how to prevent post traumatic arthritis after the injury because all of us who fractured our ankles are at risk for it and the ankle break won’t be anywhere near as bad as having bone on bone end stage arthritis and then needing an ankle fusion
@@TheHealthyYinzer well not everyone gets it so maybe we’ll be lucky lol. I take Glucosamine/Chondroitin daily. Hoping that will spare me from getting it
I developed osteoarthritis while wearing the cast because it was too tight and the inflammation moved up my foot to my lower leg. It is the inflammation that destroys the soft tissues and bones. I just started taking collagen powder and glucosamine-chondroitin.
Hello, l fractured my ancle with dislocation. I had surgey, cast for six weeks. I am out of cast two weeks ago. I have question how long it will take until l will be normal walking? I am doing exercises now and go to physiotherapist once a week.
It really depends, I was doing PT 2 to 3 times a day. You really have to make sure your big toe is extending in your calf is turned on there’s a lot that needs to happen before normal gait pattern sets in

Thank you so much for sharing! I needed to hear this. Just curious, do you still get swelling after 2 years? Are you able to attend concerts and stand for longer hours, or go for long runs? I just wanted to know if we get back 100% to our previous selves, and are able to perform physically as well as others with no ankle surgery, or if this is something we have to live with forever?
This is something we will definitely live for forever. Unfortunately. However YOU have the power to manage it and come back! Standing on concrete is still rough but the shoes matter. Running is no longer an option for me
@@TheHealthyYinzer thanks, I was cleared for partial weight bearing 2 days ago. However, my current range of motion is just about 10%. And I have been asked to start walking in another 2-3 weeks. @@TheHealthyYinzer WTF??? I am in Canada so to give you an idea, My accident was Sunday, I was brought into the ER, taken into admitting right away where my boot was cut off. Had X-rays and a reduction, then admitted into a hospital bed until Tuesday when I had my surgery, kept another night and discharged the next day. There was no charge for that or the meds in the hospital. Upon discharge I did have some prescriptions for antibiotics and pain meds (in case I needed them), which cost $120, and I unfortunately wasted money on the Tylenol and Oxy as I did not need them.
I can but the risk reward is not there. After that you’ll know. I have a goal to play hockey again next year and I will do everything necessary to play a shift again.
I wore a fiberglass cast similar to yours but mine was applied too tightly. Grrrr...I am absolutely livid at the cast tech who caused me unnecessary pain. having partial atfl and being in a cast for 6 weeks without needing a surgery looks so easy comparing to these stories and yours as well, yet my mental health is being destroyed that my life paused for a period of time, but it gave me hope that i will definitely be better and it kinda keeps me sane thank u
❤❤ 💪🏾💪🏾
OMG this is horrible! 3 weeks for surgery is wild! How has it been going for you? are you seeing any progress??
How has the pool worked for you?! That one thing I really need to start doing.
Yo thank you for this video it actually gave me some hope that I'll be able to enjoy my life again. I'm definitely not crying right now.
Thank you for this. The journey is not easy. I'm going through this now.
How many weeks in are you??
@TheHealthyYinzer I had surgery May 2nd. The doctor said my foot is really stiff. I couldn't even put it on the ground at a 90° Angle. I'm hoping I'll be able to walk if everything is fused by my next appointment. I had a Double Arthrodesis Arthritis Achilles Lengthing and Tibial Autograph Surgery.
Have the same exact issue, but on my right ankle! Thank you for the inspiration as it can be very depressing and frustrating at times.
Trust me! It’s hard! But you can get through it! Are you in pt?
I love this video! Trimalleor fracture surgery on Feb 29th. I'm currently in a boot, non weight bearing until April 15. After that day hopefully he will let me start weight bearing. He has not sent me to PT yet so I've been searching for exercises to do. Thank you for the advice, it helps so much!!❤
That really means a lot!! I’m glad I was able to help. How are you feeling right now?
Good! 😊
I fractured my ankle 2/25/2024
My surgery was about 3wks later.

Im so happy i found your account. Im a moderately active person, and now a week post ORIF and trying not to let it get to me.

How'd you end up with the healing?
Hello, I broke my fibula while playing soccer on May 12th, 2024.
Done with surgery on 15th, 1 plate and 6 screws.
On May 31st, Doctor removed my cast and 21 staples.
You have been such an inspiration to me since yesterday. I have started applying ice and using rollers to loosen the stiffness in muscles.
Keep up the good work you are doing by educating others in need.
How you doing so far I'm 3 weeks after my surgery
@@hughvera5123 feeling much better. Foot is still swollen and too stiff. How are you doing brother?
This means so much to me! I wish you the best on your recovery! Are you planning on playing soccer again? Also, if you’re dealing with stiffness, I highly suggest getting a tens unit and or a massage gun like the Theragun
Oh my gosh!! I am 7 months out from a double ankle fracture (trimal on one side and pilon/talur on the other). This is so inspiring thank you for sharing
A double ankle fracture?!?! How are you doing??
Thank you. I needed this. 😢
As a fellow hockey lover and player... I wish you the best. I want to get back so bad but i dont want to mess anything up
I’m so glad I found this video. Not the same injury but I had PTTD repair surgery end of March. I’m so afraid to start walking but so sick of the knee scooter. Thank you for all this great advice.
Hey Jennifer, how’s the injury? Are you walking better?
@@TheHealthyYinzerI mostly gave up the scooter and have been using a walker exclusively. I think I’m about 70% weight bearing. Occasionally I’ll take a few steps without a walker but need something to steady myself. The surgical foot is still very tight and swells daily. There’s been definite progress but I still think I have a long way to go. This recovery has been very difficult, both physically and mentally. I appreciate you checking in. 💜
5 weeks from broken heal bone. Cast comes off in 11 days. Thanks for helping me preset my mind for the next stage.
2/20/24
Oh no, that’s horrible. What did they have to do for ankle joint replacement?
Thank you for this video
I hope it helps... I suppose its time for another update lol
Great mindset to have!! How are you feeling?
Daily stretches, calf raises throughout the day, Theragun, switching my shoes, etc. there’s a lot of things that will change but if you put your best foot forward (no pun lol) you can get through this
@@TheHealthyYinzer 🙏🏼 just curious, do you have any pain after 2 years?
@@TheHealthyYinzer You still can't kick?
Great tips!
Thank you!! Did you suffer from an ankle injury too??

I didn't realise this was an "Oofos" ad till the near end of this video 😂
Hahahahaha I should be a kick back! But really. They changed everything for me
Ouch! I just had my surgery 😢Friday
How are you feeling m?
The real video should be how to prevent post traumatic arthritis after the injury because all of us who fractured our ankles are at risk for it and the ankle break won’t be anywhere near as bad as having bone on bone end stage arthritis and then needing an ankle fusion
I wish you were lying but damn it's the truth... It's really why i changed my shoes and the way I train. I know its inevitable.

Aye glad to hear u played hockey too. I’m currently 20 as well a junior hockey player and a month ago during game 2 of ploffs I fracture my fibula bad while dislocating my ankle and tearing my PiTL and AiTL. It was a spiral/comminuted fracture and had surgery for it. I have those thoughts of “will I be able to walk perfectly again?” Or “will I be able to play hockey again?”.
Currently 6 weeks post OP and about 3 weeks with first cast.
I am curious - for those in the US, how much did the surgery cost?
Toooo much. I think my hospital bills were 100k +
30k all in for a bimalleolar fracture in NC, no insurance so that’s the discounted price from hospital and doc not sure what it would be otherwise.
Hi,can you run after this injury? Are you close to 100% of recovery?
I can but the risk reward is not there. In the beginning of my recovery I could hardly walk on concrete without extreme pain. 2.5 years later I feel like I could but I know I’ll be dealing with discomfort for a few days. I would say this is probably the best I’m getting. And that’s hard to reconcile

I wore a fiberglass cast similar to yours but mine was applied too tightly. Grrrr...I am absolutely livid at the cast tech who caused me unnecessary pain.
I am curious whether on recovery your toes are now properly spaced out and if your ankle and foot stiffness is totally alleviated that you can roll the foot from heel to toe walk and run normally.
Any arthritis yet? I’m a year since my trimal (we chatted about it haha) …. I’m about 95% back but do have the arthritis starting now
