I just picked the songs that have MV/PV, but "Secret World" was an exception because Sunghee's high notes in this song is just EPIC!!!
I don't understand that much about high notes but I tried to make this video because I love KARA, please enjoy, don't hate it.
I admire Sunghee for her powerful vocal...but KARA was destined to be a group with attractive & upbeat songs, that's why the holy trinity (Gyuri-Seungyeon-Nicole) incredibly carried the group vocal and took KARA onto another level. Adding to that, Jiyoung's soft and melodic vocal also contributed to the group success...Jiyoung is the smartest vocalist I have ever seen!
Sunghee was a vocal powerhouse and definitely had the strongest, most polished voice of the 4 original members during Kara's debut. I’d even argue she had the strongest voice out of any member during Kara’s entire run. Don’t get me wrong, Gyuri, Seungyeon, and Nicole (my bias) significantly improved and became strong singers in their own right by the time Hara and Jiyoung joined the group, but Sunghee was still a step above in her voice skill. The more I watch of Sunghee’s performances in Kara’s early days, the more I come to the conclusion that her early departure from Kara was a serious loss for the group. I’m really glad Kara with was able reform their membership with the addition of Hara and Jiyoung and move on to huge success in the KPOP scene in the years that followed. However, can you imagine what heights they could have reached if Sunghee had stuck around?? I’d dare say that they would have flown even higher than they did as OT5!!!
Nicole is my Kara bias, but damn, Sunghee makes it really hard NOT to reconsider my position!

Yeah Gyuri and Seungyeon was initially lead vocalists, due to Seunghee's departure they had to challenge the role of main vocalist, even Gyuri had to take surgery because of vocal nodule
I don't think that the original 4 would have gone too far. I mean, Sunghee was the hell of a vocalist but she was suited to a more dark and R&B that sadly didn't succeded.
It wasn't after that Kara became recognize by their upbeat and poppy that I personally don't believe that suited Sunghee at allll. All I can say is that some thins happen for a reason..

@@JamieBu77 they did have cute songs on their first album like “Don’t be shy” and “If You Wanna”. Actually only their main singles, “Break It” and “Secret World” were dark, I guess due to what was the trend at the time. But majority of the album was cute and bubbly. I think the newer concepts were have suited just fine.

Sunghee left the group in 2008. So she's actually a former member. The rest of the 6 members are currently part of KARA (including Hara even after her unfortunate death)
