thank you very much for this video, you're so pleasant to listen to and your explanations are very clear. wish you were my teacher honestly :> my HL phys exam is tomorrow and this helped me! thank you!!
I'm a bit confused, at around 10:42, you say that "to see the 2/3e become the -1/3e" but isn't the conversion from a neutron to a proton? So wouldn't it be a -1/3e become a 2/3e hence leading to not the W- but the W+ boson being released?
For IB Physics, it's not the biggest deal. Don't worry too much about that. Instead, make sure you know how to determine an unknown particle in a Feynman diagram (use the charge to figure it out)
Hey, if you look at the past paper N17/4/PHYSI/SP2/ENG/TZ0/XX in 2 a) , the arrow connected to the electron neutrino goes forwards not backwards. Why is that?
I just took a look at that one, and it's because it's not anti-matter. It's 'regular' matter so it goes forward in time. Had it been and ANTI-electron neutrino, it should then have gone backwards. This question was strange though, because if you check for charge carefully in the middle of the interaction, it should have been a W+ and not a W- boson. But the answer for that one was indeed that it's an electron neutrino. You knew that because it can't have any charge.
Teaching this to IB students is truly a complete waste of time. Feynman is just another over rated joker in the world of science. I taught Quantum physics for last 20 years and never mentioned such a nonsense. If you need to read a truly science book then read "What is Life" by Erwin Schrodinger, the father of quantum physics instead of these cowboys trying to glorify themselves!. You will soon realize why Schrodinger gave up Physics and criticized his own work. Teaching this to secondary students is similar to teaching the Shakespeare "garbage" to English students. Many countries are done with it long time ago.
This is subject matter that is prescribed by the International Baccalaureate's Diploma Programme, so arguing whether or not Feynman diagrams should be taught as a comment on my video is counterproductive. In the new syllabus for IB Diploma Physics, particle physics (including Feynman diagrams) have just been removed.

You're very welcome! Good luck with the exams! You can do it! Cheers, Mitch
Very clear and concise explanation. Love your videos.
Thanks so much! Cheers, Mitch
exam in 2 days who's with me
Good luck on your exams!
Same here, just about time to catch up on everything. This is amazing thank you so much it is gonna safe my life :)
@@OSC1990 Thank you!!
exam in 2 hours wish me luck
@@cheikhsaadbousall6695 good luck!! Then tell us how it went!!!
have paper 2 physics tomorrow i think am cooked
Thanks for the video but isn't this the spelling for "Feynman"?
best ib physics video on feynman diagrams
Thank you so much! They were really fun to make :)
And big thanks for every other explanation it is extremely useful!
You're very welcome! Cheers, Mitch
Hope everyone did well on their exams today
isn't the x-axis = space and y-axis = time ? Thanks a lot, Mitch sir
I have mock tommorow

im wondering the same, did you find out yet
Hi, I was told the dotted line represents the a W or Z Boson and not wavy, wavy is a photon. Does this matter a lot or is it not a big deal then?

@@OSC1990 Isn't it because the time axis of that question is actually vertical?
Hey Mitch, great stuff you teach man. Just wanted to point out a typo of your (mine) fav Physicist's name...Thanks
