I have been playing viking since I was a little boy! thats what we do in Scandinavia! and finally we got a good and accurate show so other people in the world can learn what we learn when we are small children!
its a good show and probably the best portray of the Vikings but it is no where near accurate.. ragnar was not the 1st to sail west, floki discovered Iceland which was atleast 100years after the 1st English raid.. ivar becomes a Viking king but hows he gonna do that with so many older brothers in the show? theres a lot of Viking storys that span over 500 years they are cramming in like a 30 year period..

Yes, it is accurate, but it still has elements of fiction to make it more entertaining. Rollo was not Ragnar's brother, nor were they even born within the same year, but Ragnar and Lagertha were in fact married and Ragnar did have another wife (the Princess) which is present in the show. They take liberties yet have some fact to them. Look up what Michael Hirst said about the historical accuracy of the show and it'll be explained.

I am a viking and archeologist from Norway, I like Vikings! We don`t have much materials from this time, but you must remember the vikings where traders and farmers. ANd only about 1% where warriors. And the best warriors came from Rogaland in Norway where we have the three swors (Stavanger). The real vikings came from; Bergen, Jæren, Oslo, Stockholm, Kattegat, midt-Jylland (Danmark)

I've got alot of Viking in me, my mom is as viking as it gets, descended from a Norwegian and a Swede, and my dad's Scottish and the average Scottish person is about half Viking so I'm about 3/4. Still got brown hair and eyes though so I didn't get that Aryan gene some people like so much, oh well.
Its 8-9 months left. You have a lot of time to grow your Viking beard and get ripped. Eat Paleo food. That's basically what they ate. 2 full meals a day. Some healthy snacks in between. Don't forget to workout.
