    I got casted as adult simba in our production and well I’m really nervous and have social anxiety, what are some tips for over coming fear and performing well in front of large audiences?

      Hello, I’m Jonah! I played Young Simba in this Lion King performance! I would say, for me at least, start small. Performing in front of your family members, which for me is harder to do than performing in front of a full house lol. Put yourself out there. You’re always going to be nervous before a show. But wait until you get on that stage, I promise you’ll feel more excitement than anxiousness. Not to get technical, but the feeling of anxiousness and excitement are actually the exact same in your brain. Dot tell yourself that you’re nervous, tell yourself that you’re exited! I hope this helped! Break a leg bro!

      I think- as a young stage singer and actress- that trying your best not to think about it is key. I know that is easier said then done but do the best you can to breathe and just focus on you. Also, being prepared- LOL LION KING REFERENCE- is very important. Go over your lines in sections! Also a huge part of memorizing lines is repetition. Go over the lines in sections and repeat that section a lot. Also, before diving into reciting lines, read over them. And when your singing- which you must be good at if you were cast as adult simba- instead of taking super rushed hasty breaths, take deep full breaths. You might have to make some quick, but when you do make them really serve you air. Whenever your feeling nervous, take a minute and really just close your eyes, take three breaths and stretch. I know stretching sounds dumb but it relaxes your body. Also in front of large audiences and for performing well- do NOT show them if you mess up at all! If you mess up a note or miss a line, act normal as if you just crushed it! Break a leg!!

    This is perfect, but to make it more fantastic rafiki needs to be just a little less theatrical!

    • @BabyJofficial1
      @BabyJofficial1 Рік тому +3

      I think they did that intentionally. If you’ve seen Lion King, Rafiki IS like that. Also remember, this is theater 😂😂

      @@BabyJofficial1well I have seen the play several times in london the Lyceum theatre. It may depend of the actor but most times rafik is more movie like than the energetic theatrical moved character.

    They didn’t have a very good cast the only good actors and singers in this are adult Nala Scar and Timon

      Please remember that these are children so they won't be brodway level. Now with that in mind, they did very good for their age.

      Hi, my name is Jonah. I’m 13, and by your grammar and name on UA-cam, it seems you’re a similar age. Young actors, especially around this age already have their anxiety levels high just because they might not play sports at school. From experience, I’ve felt out of place. So, tip for next time, DON’T SHOW HATE. This is a platform where people can come out and express who they are, not be criticized just because they aren’t broadway level. The boy playing Simba was about my age, and some of the ensemble was around 7 years old. Although I definitely do agree that Nala (Ava), Scar (Issac), and Timon (Lily) are all great singers, most people in this cast haven’t had vocal lessons or coaches. The thing you need to understand about musical theater, Tara, is that you just have to be decent at either acting, or singing to put on a great show. When you can get cast in a show (if you will ever), come back to me with something or at least this quality. Step into their shoes, go through what they had to go through, and then I might listen.

      @arianamarlow8571 Рік тому +5

      Dang Jonah!! I second that, all of it! Honestly, what is the point of showing hate anyway? The only point of it, is to show people your true maturity level. Everyone in this cast was PHENOMENAL!! And if you met each and every one of them in person, Tara, you would be met with so much love and support from all of them. Being in this show was the one of the most beautiful experiences I have ever had! And a big part of it was the cast. I was sick during the show and it was awful, I played Rafiki, but I pushed through it and did the best I could. And I’m going to be honest, I wouldn’t have been able to do it if it wasn’t for my amazing cast mates and super loving directors. They encouraged me to keep pushing through even when my voice was giving out. And I love all of them so dearly, and to say things like that, really shows a lot about your character. Please, before you go leaving comments like this on other people’s performances, think about how it would make you feel? Treat others how you would want to be treated. I hope you are having a good day, and I hope you can learn to be more loving.
