Building is the easy part. Gathering enough stone and transporting it to the site is the hard part.
Obtaining permission too
I have 120 acres of land and it is quite rocky. The prior owners had moved thousands and thousands of pounds of stones to the front gate and used to sell it. So I know where to get plenty of stone, but getting it where I would want it would be brutal

Maybe a quick fix as it was raining. But there should have been a green roof gender suite.
Not a lot of wood there to make a decent waterproof roof or maybe he just needs more time and tools. Next episode, could do thin sheets of stone for slats/shingles, but likely too heavy and dangerous.

Those walls looked really well.
However, I was expecting the roof to be a bit more rustic (or integrated with the landscape), just like the rest of the cabin.

Beautiful stone hut. Fortunately, you had stones around and were easily cut for building the walls. In such projects, collecting the stones is one of the major challenges. I had been out for similar project in a forest for months; and 70-percent of my project has been completed. I will release it next month. Now your video is popped up and I loved watching it on my Mac. It reminded so much. Thumbs up 👍

Where I come from people used to build such stone houses in the vinyards as a shelter. The vinyards were separated by rows of stone walls and they just build the chambers in there. We used them as kids a lot.

Next time make fireplace shallower and chimney pipe way smaller , around 7 or 8 inches in diameter, you’re losing a lot of heat . Amazing built btw

His fire has almost no smoke and is very good. There is NO tall chimney to pull a big draft. Why risk smoke coming back into the cabin by choking down the size of the chimney pipe? Losing heat? It's not a modern house... look at that thing. 90% of the heat will be from sitting right in front of the fire. If a bit of smoke comes back toward him, everything he did is for nothing. It's not worth the risk. Also, about "shallower" ... He needs to "get in there" to cook and does not have a chainsaw so all types and sizes of wood need to fit in there. That means the opening must be large. If the opening is large, the chimney as to be rather large.

Looks great. I reckon a higher sloped roof would be perfect, so you can stand up inside and also so the snow and rain fall off. Nice one though and maybe a work in progress!
