Great to hear you talking about this episode. I was very lucky to be one of the detectorists involved during filming. What a great 3 days and what an honour to be involved!
Helen Geake I feel like you that the Anglo-Saxon time period is one most important in history. I have always enjoyed listening and watching you Time Team . You are my favorite person on the show. I’m trying to learn all I can on the Saxons.Thank you
Loving this all Helen... she’s so bright and enthusiastic and knowledgeable Lol I remember watching her baby bump grow as the series went on. Folks this is a treasure, thx Cheers from BC Canada
Thank you so much for this! My favorite TT digs were the Anglo-Saxon gravesites, and you referenced my top rewatched episodes here-South Carlton, Bawsey, Braemore, and I believe the dog burial was in that backyard in Raunds, not Braemore. South Carlton had that wonderful burial of the man clutching the pot, presumed to possibly be a lush who was buried with his drinking vessel of choice. As a Yank, I was introduced to Time Team originally on the old History International channel, then through UA-cam and now streaming services. I have loved archaeology since the mid-1970s, when I was ten and introduced to ancient civilizations and famous digs like Troy, Ur, and Knossos. (I asked my archaeology major niece her opinion of Schliemann, and she just shuddered in horror, rightly so.) Watching shows like TT and Digging for Britain, and following various Dig Diaries online, satisfies my thirst for the subject. Too bad the virus is cancelling digs this summer-I miss the Ness of Brodgar diary updates!

"Everyone benefits from Time Team". Great statement. That's why you need to come back to television.
Yes, but using the original and not the final format!

Another very interesting Video
A very good interview.
Love it.
I really miss the show.
Very helpful
I'd love to follow along but what season / episode is it? It would be very helpful to have that in the notes.
It was Season 11, episode 4.
"Never find a man with a spade". Phil Harding might have something to say about that.
Well, hermaphrodites are a thing...
