This is the best final level in classic sonic hands down. What was once a concept for final fever in the sonic cd mobile remake turned into one of the biggest eggman robots ever created. The music track itself its genius despite its difficult production, It gives a sense of unease and uncertainty. You don't know what this robot will do with the power of the phantom ruby, But you know you have to stop it. 0:33 is geunius in itself despite just being theme of collision chaos it reminds you that this is taking place on little planet outside metallic madness. Speaking of which thats another cool thing. Metallic madness wasn't supposed to be the final level in cd originally. It was supposed to be stardust speedway. Which you can tell by the ending cutscenes. So I always liked how titanic monarch became the true final level I guess you could say. I just love the level continuity in the classic games. This is one of the most underrated zones and I just wanted to talk about what I love about it so much here.
this is "least" favorite stage in mania. It's not a bad stage, far from it in fact. I just think the other zones are a lot better and I've never really been a fan of it's music. But after hearing this I now kinda like it! Can't wait till the final boss theme!

Casino night zone for studiopolis, wacky work bench zone for press garden, star light zone for marage saloon, and death egg zone full 2 stages (s2 since it wasn't a full act in s2) as titanic monarch
the entire act 2 inside the robot itself. It probably was much more of a threat than even the death egg robots seen in forces. The inside of it looks very religious too. Almost like it was gonna enslave the earth like eggman wants to do in the sonic movie 2
No strong feelings on this one. Probably the weakest final zone in a 2D sonic game. At the very least in terms of memorability. And the depressingly mid track, doesn't help. A repitch can only do so much unfortunately.
How? Its supposed to be heroic and forbidding. Its the final level theme. Its not supposed to be wacky and crazy like every other track. This zone is 100% better designed than any of the other final levels in sonic games.
@@jurassicarkjordanisgreat1778 Hard disagree. Especially in regards to music, at best it's better than metropolis. But in both music and gameplay I find it to be forgettable at best. Which I can't say, even of metropolis. Metropolis is at least worthy of being the final main zone of it's game, it's climactic and brutally challenging. For better or for worse. It's music is pretty mid though. S3's Death egg, scrap brain, and even wing fortress are standouts in comparison.

It closely follows death egg, and of course Metallic Madness at least beats it in a music comparison. But honestly, it's one of the better ones gameplay wise. And aesthetically it's pretty strong too. I refuse this scrap brain hate speech. It's cringe. Scrap brain is underrated af.

100% agree. It has the least amount of trash and unfair level design.

My least favorite stage is probably Oil Ocean zone and I'm unsure what my favorite is, all of them are pretty good

Well, the Titanic Monarch was actually a mech itself. Sonic got there before it was finished, and fought the control panel.
