There’s been so many rule changes over the years, from world rules, blackball, ultimate rules etc. One point that’s always been controversial is the “deliberate” foul rule in each rule set. So I was wondering, which bread do you prefer? Hovis or Warburtons?
hi Mick thanks for addressing my question. Alas i dont play much pool now, having lost my partner 4 years ago i just watch lots of pool on youtube and whether the public or pool players class you as one of the best pool players of all time, one things 100 percent certain you are without question one of the humblest and down to earth pool players of all time. be nice if more of your exhibitions were shown, ive watched the one from the Shoot Pool & Snooker Club in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire! very enjoyable viewing.
The only thing I would say is that it's better to watch in person compared to watching on the TV. Always looks much easier on the TV than actually being in front of the table. Keep up the great content mick 😀
Thanks for this video. A follow up question, if I may? You mentioned Preparation, could you share your insights into how you go about that sort of thing? :)
Cheers Mick! For some reason I love a Q&A from all different niches! I must be some sort of alien, I find if I watch people playing too much, I try too hard to emulate and end up screwing (see what I did there) up. Definitely get the guys anxiety as well, somehow in league matches it seems too rushed! The tuts and whispers really do get to you so I sometimes find myself playing a shot in 5 seconds that I should have taken 15 to line up properly!
Even though I don't play "English 8 ball" (I think that is what you call it) there are so many common factors with American 8 ball that I find this channel really helping me. I also really like your no-nonsense straight forward way of communicating. The fact you are a brilliant player teaching this gives your training so much credibility.
Just want to take this opportunity to thank you for a memory that will last the rest of my days. ua-cam.com/video/uzOtDRCw1SM/v-deo.html I was lucky to snooker you in the first frame and lucky you missed the black in the 2nd. Amazing show leading up to the black when I felt initially you had nothing much on, and I'm under no illusion that had I been a proffesional player, you'd of just rolled the black in! Anyway, thanks for an amazing night / memory and keep up the great video's. I'm learning from every one! I just wish I had your cueball control.👍
You can pay a fortune for a Cue and it is no good for you, Find a Cue that is right for you, Could be the cheapest cue in the world but if it is for you, Sorted.
Enjoyed the Q&A, I'm hoping to get to Tiger Cues this weekend to have a feel for what fits me but the online stock has dwindled and the contact number has an auto reply saying they're experiencing "unprecedented demand" fingers crossed I'll be able to start the process of selecting/ordering soon as I've just had my first win in my local league which was my goal before upgrading my 20 YO Marco Fu 2 piece. I'd add on the question about improvement, practice isn't necessarily good on its own, if you're practicing a bad habit you'll just lock it in and not know what's going wrong, getting some time with a coach or a better player who's willing to give you some pointers is really great.
All the good cue manufacturers are in demand. Hopefully you may not have to wait too long. Practice is key, if on your own then try to analyse your weaknesses and concentrate on improving those.
Hey Mick, in regards to the 2 rail spin question. There's been the odd occassion, for example kicking at a ball, where i had to play off 2 cushions and I tried to change the line with side, but then I noticed that the spin off the first and second cushions tend to cancel out, i.e. left spin off the first cushion widens the angle, but then it narrows it off the 2nd cushion. And inevitably I have no idea how I could have hit my ball. So I guess a question is how could someone guarentee a wider / narrower angle off 2 cushions for those tricky situations? Or to put it another way, when is it beneficial to use side for position off 2 rails?
There is a lot of environmental factors such as cloth, cushions etc, but when the spin has finished then it travel of the ball and therefore the angle is dictated by the law of reflection.
Great video Mick really informative, amazing you still play with your dads cue keep it going - really enjoyed that mate… Really enjoy watching you play and really enjoy watching your videos… I’m at a decent standard the 2 areas I need a tweak is the break and skill shots, enjoyed your break video, not seen a skill shot one but look forward to seeing it….👍 Keep up the good work mate…🥰
Hi mick, when and how do i decide when to use the parallel shift, i just cant make sense of when to apply it,or how to identify where to pick the point from

Thanks for this. What would be your ideal tip size please?
It’s a preference thing. Try a few and see what you feel comfortable with.

Thank you thank youuu❤️🤝
do think time has come for same size cue ball as the rest?
No
It wouldn’t really work as the cue ball return mechanism wouldn’t work on pre-pay tables.
i think they can sort that with technology these days but changing over would be as stupid as converting to ev cars!@@darktherapy
