This was so cozy! I absolutely looove your tv stand. I’ve decided that, for me, 2024 is the year of old-school romance novels because I really want to figure out what I actually enjoy within the genre and have not had much luck with most of the newer releases I’ve tried. Plus, I like to see how things have evolved over the years.
Im so happy I found this review of An Education in Malice. I'm only half way through and I feel the same way. I LOVE what the story is supposed to be about but not how the story is told.
HAHA your mom automatically saying "yeah" when you said it looks like a dog treat you would accidentally eat was so funny to me 😂 new books from authors who wrote all time favorite books are terrifying. I just tried to read the other book the author of Penpal wrote and it was so boring so I had to dnf 😭
I can't tell you how much validation and consolation it gives me to know that someone else feels this way about An Education in Malice. Like, where is ST Gibson ay? Is she okay? Cause this ain't her my dude
i'm so glad you enjoyed anne of green gables! i will say that the rest of the series is not as good as the first book. i'd say this first three are must reads, but after that they kinda get boring. she also wrote and published them out of order-i believe the 4th book in the series was actually one of the last ones published, if i'm not mistaken, and her publisher kinda made her write them (i could be wrong but i think i read that somewhere)
I, too, LOVED *A Dowry of Blood*. I feel like the author held back in Malice, and I just wanted something a little more. I had a time staying invested in the story and thought it ended up being more tame than I had anticipated, which is a bummer. I think I gave it 3.75. I did enjoy her next release Evocations more, though!
I’m so sorry this book was such a disappointment I think when authors take so long to release another book they lose their writing style and feel like they need to reinvent themselves to keep up with trends which is so sad
There's a book on one of my shelves that was my most anticipated book in 2021...and I haven't read it yet 😅 book 2 is already out, but I'm so afraid of reading it, because of the fear I might not like it. My expectations are so high! I'll read it eventually, though. This year. Probably. 😂
I felt the exact same way about An Education in Malice. A Dowry of Blood is one of my all time favourite books and An Education in Malice was hands down my most anticipated book of the year. It was so bad. The third act was one of the most anticlimactic endings I have read in my entire life.
Not the bad book 😭 Not the rat 🤮 Not a wasp 😱 I'm sorry you had the worse time here and there. Hopefully you find a 5 ⭐️ soon. Loved this vlog so much ❤️
I’ve been watching your videos for a while now but for some reason it just clicked for me that you look like Nicola Coughlan, the actress who plays Penelope in the Bridgerton series!
Ugh that’s so frustrating to have a highly anticipated release be so disappointing 😭🫣 I’ve only been seeing negative review for an education in malice, I’m scared I don’t even know if I want to read it at this point lmao
I’m suddenly very worried about reading An Education in Malice 🥲 but I also just picked up Forged by Magic! It sounds like exactly what I need right now ✨
Nothing more gutting than being disappointed by your most anticipated book of the year 😢
its so tragic
I felt the same way about The Paradise Problem by Christina Lauren.
You absolutely MUST look up the OG miniseries adaptation of Anne of Green Gables. It’s iconic. RIP Jonathan Crombie. 🥺
Yes I grew up with the Anne of Green Gables Canadian miseries and it is still my favourite show ever you should watch it
It breaks my heart how excited you were in the beginning to see the ending 🥹
Omg. I love the idea of stacking books in the tv stand ❤️🤯.

Anne of Green Gables is amazing! You definitely need to watch the miniseries with Meagan Follows! Anne/Gilbert are my OG ship! ❤️🔥
Yay, so excited someone on BookTube has read Forged by Magic! Glad you like Anne of Green Gables sooo much fun!

Anne of Green Gables is one of my favorite classics! I'm so glad you read another historical romance. They're my favorite! :)
At least we have Evocation coming out later this year…maybe it will be better?
Oh noooo that gift rat. >.< That's why my cat does not go outside. She would bring me all kinds of gifts no one asked for.
Omg I literally JUST bought A Fate Inked in Blood!! Im so excited for it too!
Oh no I’m so scared to read this now , but I’ve not read her other book so maybe I will like it , I hope xx
I had the same thoughts about the ST Gibson books 😭 so sad

yeah and maybe there was too much pressure on this book cause A Dowry of Blood got so popular. it's a real bummer
noooo so sorry for the ST Gibson book! :( that absolutely sucks
I'm sorry your top anticipated book was a downer 😢😢
25:17 this is such a cute dog omg ❤❤❤❤❤
Oh, no! An Education in Malice was one of my most anticipated books of 2024, too. I'm reading it this month. Now I'm scared😱
An education in malice was such a huge disappointment! Fun vlog to watch!
Ps I love your cardigan!!

What a beautiful edition of Anne of Green Gables!

All Rhodes Lead Here is my favorite Mariana Zapata book! I hope you enjoy :)
I am scared to get to Education of Malice now. 🙃At least you enjoyed the rest of the books you read. ☺
Not the bad book 😭
Not the rat 🤮
Not a wasp 😱
I'm sorry you had the worse time here and there. Hopefully you find a 5 ⭐️ soon. Loved this vlog so much ❤️
I loved Forged by Magic ❤

Great vlog 📚☕
So upsetting! I actually really enjoyed it, though I haven’t read Carmilla so maybe that’s why
I've also quite disliked An Education in Malice. It gives me hope though that many people say A Dowry of Blood is better, as I still haven't read it.
i just finished All Rhodes Lead Here! I think you will enjoy it, I was imagining Pedro Pascal as Rhodes the whole time lol
I genuinely really liked an education in malice. I'm so sad no one else seems to be enjoying it
I read An Education in Malice the week it came out and I was also disappointed. I agree the themes felt so surface level, and I found it so boring 😭
So sorry your anticipated book was such a disappointment, but you contemplating eating Loki’s cookies is sending me!! 🤣
Also, please tell me what happened with that giant RAT?? 😅
so I actually saved the rat but then the next day she found it again and brought it back to me 😭
The strength it took for you to finish that book instead of DNF'ing.
That was the biggest rat I've ever seen, but I could not be angry would the kitty because damn was the kitty proud!!!
Welp, I’d heard that An Education in Malice wasn’t great but it wasn’t until now that I actually became scared to read it
I thought they wrote Evocations too. or I'm tripping
An education in malice was mid for me, which was so disappointing. And in terms of a vampire book, it was also average. An education in mediocrity tbh
Ugh that’s so frustrating to have a highly anticipated release be so disappointing 😭🫣 I’ve only been seeing negative review for an education in malice, I’m scared I don’t even know if I want to read it at this point lmao
This is why my cats stay inside 😭
I am only here for your beer 🍺 T-shirt love ❤️ it what is your favourite beer 🍺 lol 😂 ❤❤❤
that rat lol
The size of that rat ! Kitty is quite the hunter
she really is 🤣
i'm gonna need sequels or companion novels to stop sucking immediately like what is happening in the world
boycotting sequels
I’m suddenly very worried about reading An Education in Malice 🥲 but I also just picked up Forged by Magic! It sounds like exactly what I need right now ✨
i felt exactly the same about an education in malice 🥲i was so disappointed
