It blows my mind that there is so little information on this band, It makes me so sad that they didn’t receive the recognition they deserved. I hope one day we could get one more song.
I think the singer is in a different band now, but he also released his own music recently that doesn’t sound too different to this band. But yes, I also wish we had more of empire empire
@@AwfulWeather5684 yesss I love exploring his other bands he has quite a bit, almost sort of how Chino Moreno from deftones branched out into different bands. I believe he also advertises smaller bands too very cool guy
city lights graced interstates, the way you move your hands through your hair when you feel alone. remember the flowers you picked when we crossed over madison? you were so sure you found yourself that you branded it into an oak- the one you swore reached through the sky and swallowed the city line. you had yet to hit twenty-three (an age that would swallow you). then, every breath made you confess you did not know what to do with your hands. this is a new side of you- so full of fear.
Just discovered these guys and this song (from the album itself, although this version is beautiful; I really dig the drums in the original....) is my favorite track from them so far.
I found this song when I was 23 and those closing lyrics coincidentally hit so close to home. I was soooo scared of adulthood lol. Now at 31, I'm still terrified but coping 😂 such an important album for me at the time.

I love how it cuts to the keyboardist and he just looks completely miserable.
It’s so weird just how sad all of these nice dudes get
It's almost as if their kindness has been taken advantage of their entire lives.
:(
Well thats how it goes
That is the saddest looking keyboardist I've ever seen
I'm just waiting for a single tear drop to fall down his face
capostatus937 A fellow 937 area code lord whodey emo
Ian Stone
I’m nearby too. My town is like half 937 and half something else.
Literally me
I don't know if it's the keyboardist's voice or the yellow shirt guy's but whoever sang the lowest harmony has a beautiful and distinct voice.

Still my favourite lyrics from any song I’ve heard ever. Yet they’re so simple, but perfect

Wow, coming back to this five years later at 23 years old is surreal.

If I could be in any van it would be this one!
This is so good, sooooooo good. I came to have a new appreciation of the lyrics and the really stripped down sound compliment the vocals nicely.
