As a Utd fan, I can tell you when city left Maine Road and moved to the Emtyhead, all the boozers in Rusholme went to the wall. Now most bluesnose drink in town and walk to the ground or jib the tram. EFC's New stadium looks great but will it still have that communal feel? Worked in Speke and the scousers are very unique… their sense of humour is top notch and you have to experience the city to know it . Got great memories of drinking in town , Lark Lane , smithdown Road . Delivered parcels all around the city and got to know it well. There’s no place in the world like Liverpool and you look after a scouser you literally have a friend for life . Is Right Lad 🏴

Remember walking down that street towards where the Sharpey mural is now with my Dad in about 1975. He'd just parked his car and as we got out, a youngin comes up tus saying "mind yer car mate"? Dad gave him 50p and said he'd give him another 50p when the match was over. My 10 year old mind said "Dad, that little boy was real nice, looking after or car and all". Dad just smiled and said, yeah, nice kid....

I used to work at an estate Agents on County Road called Williams Estate Office in the '90's. It was on the corner of Ismay Street. We were agents for Goodison and took the rent from the tenants and took care of any repair work. Goodison own most of the houses in the streets in Walton and looked after them really well.
Let’s be honest, Walton is as rough as it gets but it also has a good sense of community which a lot of more well off areas don’t have. You can’t beat County Road for mad characters either. Area has always been full of nutcases 😂

From Birmingham and in a trade, you always knew when you had lads from your neck of the woods the job was a good 'un, great banter. Used to drink the Tapas bar on County Road before games. Seguras, shut down now. Had a few friends and family who left Liverpool and were flabbergasted when they heard about a tapas bar in County Road. It’s not the prettiest place but it’s a good place

Lived in the Netley pub (now a pizza shop) 76-82 as a kid - great but tough times. Area was tough then but its definitely worse now economically. Area is a lot more transient now with bottom rung landlords happy to let properties be a dumping ground for all sorts.

Remember walking down that street towards where the Sharpey mural is now with my Dad in about 1975. He'd just parked his car and as we got out, a youngin comes up tus saying "mind yer car mate"? Dad gave him 50p and said he'd give him another 50p when the match was over. My 10 year old mind said "Dad, that little boy was real nice, looking after or car and all". Dad just smiled and said, yeah, nice kid....
There's a good chance the kid your Dad gave the 50p , was either me or my younger brother Mark lol , that was near our patch back in 75 👍
Us kids minding the cars back then , soon realised to always ask for the cash upfront first as a lot of the car owners went straight the pub after the game as they did back then 🤫🤫🤫

I used to work at an estate Agents on County Road called Williams Estate Office in the '90's. It was on the corner of Ismay Street. We were agents for Goodison and took the rent from the tenants and took care of any repair work. Goodison own most of the houses in the streets in Walton and looked after them really well.
Let’s be honest, Walton is as rough as it gets but it also has a good sense of community which a lot of more well off areas don’t have. You can’t beat County Road for mad characters either. Area has always been full of nutcases 😂

From Birmingham and in a trade, you always knew when you had lads from your neck of the woods the job was a good 'un, great banter. Credit to the residents around Goodison, the streets are clean, none of the usual knee-high crap you usually see on videos around our Towns and Cities. All the best, look forward to the next one.
Used to drink the Tapas bar on County Road before games. Seguras, shut down now. Had a few friends and family who left Liverpool and were flabbergasted when they heard about a tapas bar in County Road. It’s not the prettiest place but it’s a good place

Lived in the Netley pub (now a pizza shop) 76-82 as a kid - great but tough times. Area was tough then but its definitely worse now economically. Area is a lot more transient now with bottom rung landlords happy to let properties be a dumping ground for all sorts.

Proper scousers are proper lads, they are old school, and the young lad acted like a 25 yo, used to score down that road, class that Bill, when you showed sharpy on the side of Goodison, but it gives you goosebumps, cos you know that is gonna get knocked down, i hope the club, still helps out in the community, but them landlords need locking up, who's the landlord, LFC, ha ha ✌️😎.
Nice one Bill, we appreciate your content, it's almost like a mini documentary about our city. 😎👍. I guess you showing north of Stanley park is an olive branch to sleepy Joe 🤣. One thing I will say about Walton compared to A field, is that EFC put 10 x more back in the local community than the redshite, also although economically deprived, the streets are much cleaner, probably due to the fact more scousers live in the neighborhood.
