He is red flag but never cheat. He just doesn't know how to express his feeling. But thank you Satomi, Jinko, Kinnosuke, even Sahoko are realize Naoki feel.
Yaa he is not a cheater but he is also not husband material. He will ignore, make her feel unwanted , make her feel ugly , never takes the 1st step to communicate and doesn't stand for her 🙄😒 all style but no substance also has a enthusiasm of wall like he needs to do better if wants this relationship to be healthy
I think they did good for Naoki's character considering he has low EQ and high IQ, that is probably how people with low EQ interacts mostly they don't know how to express because they rarely tap into their emotional intelligence. He struggles in times that requires EQ which the show highlights well in his communication with normal strangers & fights with Kotoko. I like that they balance each other out nicely. He has a good growth arc though, both him and Kotoko together, he ends up learning from his past mistakes and corrects them as much, Kotoko also studies hard and works on her IQ to become a nurse too. I am a sucker for haters to lover's stories because it's just interesting to see human's relationship with hate and how they overcome it by replacing it with love in the end.
I used to love this drama (all versions) when I was young, but now that I've matured, I realized that Naoki's character will emotionally drained you. But I agree that Kotoko is his perfect match. They balance each other.❤ ❤
I still dont know why I am addicted to this show, manga, all versions. Usually an idiot female character would annoy me so much (see Boys over Flowers - which I hate), but there is something endearing about Naoki. I think if I watched the Korean version first I would have a different take on the show, however as there is something endearing about Naoki, and the way the actress gives her light. This version you actually see how Kotoko secretly listens to Naoki, she loves him but also has a bit of strength herself and is stubborn just like him. I watch it every time it's on. Every single time like I've never seen it! hehe
A genius, but a dense one. They can be emotionally draining if you don't understand how hard it is for them to understand and accept love because to them it is not logical enough to be figured out. I can relate coz my adorable pumpkin is also like this guy. Took his time to mature emotionally but it was adorable to see the look on his face or hear the change in his voice when the light bulb would come on. I love him so much and I would not choose anyone else. They are just lost souls when it comes to expressing themselves.
Fun fact the creator made the manga about how she thought how perfect her husband was. And after her passing they reached out to him for this remake & he purposely wanted to show how imperfect he was, while thinking she was the most perfect person for him. 🥹
I didnt know she was married. Itazura na kiss one manga is like the original concept of girl chase boy and circumstances make them stay in 1 house. There are many mangas out there similar to this. But i swear itazura is the first one. Or at least I found itazura first.
@@cleodux itazura is literally based on her love story with her husband I believe. He was a literal rock star, she unfortunately died quite young and he never remarried 😢
There is another perfect title for this video... "Naoki is 'slapped' by everyone for being a j*rk to Kotoko" 🤣 I mean, he's cute when jealous but also annoying #lol
I disagree with calling him cold hearted. He is not cold hearted but has difficulty in expressing and understanding his emotions. Its also seen that he is jealous now, but later he talkes to his brother, commentating about when he was jealous but did not know what it was/how he was feeling or how to respond to it. In society one who does not talk about their feelings or react on them physically, are judged as distant and other things, but if you look at his body expression, like this video, points out most of the time. He is expressing himself, just not where we are used too looking 100 percent of the time, so we miss it.
Naoki is exactly how people with low EQ and high IQ interacts with their loved ones, they feel the emotions but because it's so rare to them that they don't know what to do with it or express it when the emotions come, most of the time they stay stuck and confused, or like Naoki's case he finds it bothersome because his emotions is disrupting his studying times and life that he was comfortable with. He doesn't dislike Kotoko, but it was his first time feeling all these new emotions that he had never felt before so it bothered him a bit and left him baffled. I like his character growth the most, he changes and improves to be a better partner for Kotoko and vice versa. He had his heart set and was loyal till the end.
Funny how we all collectively adored Irie in our youth but came to realize in our maturity that he's quite tough to love. We are not out of touch delulus then 🤭
I have seen all versions of ita kiss.... including chinese, Taiwanese, korean .....nobody was as good as kotoko. Everyone came off annoying and doormat as F ..but kotoko had something about her...a sort of charm and personality. It worked for an otherwise annoying character

How can I hate Irie in every version of this drama? hahahaha Really, I'm convinced that he loves kotoko against his better judgment and hates her for it! He's the biggest red flag ever, constantly putting her down and making her fell less and dumb ugghhhhhhh

I still thank kotoko's friends 'till this day. If it weren't because of them Naoki won't still realize and admit that he's deeply in love with kotoko.
