- This is my review of the Sangean HDR-16 HD/FM/AM Portable Radio. I bought it at Amazon for $97.40 plus tax. Here are the links to the radio bandscans that I performed prior to this review.

I had a radio like that when i was locked up. They sold two different Sangean radio models including one with a thick clear acrylic case which was the more expensive one coming in around $150, i believe it was the WR-2 . They're really good radios with nice bass.
Great video i love mine 😊
Thank you
I have a radio like that and i also reached 1,000 subscribers like you did pass 1k subs in 2021. Well done
Awesome! Congratulations on reaching 1,000 subscribers.
I get that 1210 WPHT HD not locked as well. Maybe one day it will lock. I get NYC, Chicago, Philly clear channels at night in Virginia. Get 5 Canada channels, CFZM, CKLW, CJBC, ChML and 1610 am.
That is a very nice HD radio if I was to get a new one I think I look at this one I like the fact that it has two speakers
Thank you Jim.
Great Review!!!
Thank you so much. Have a good weekend.
So cool... I will definitely ask Santa for one
Maybe will come down on price for black Friday
Good idea. It doesn't hurt to check.
The HDR-16 would have benefited greatly from selectable band with filters on its MW band. Perhaps 4 kHz, 6 kHz and 8 kHz. Also, I would like to have seen it at least six or perhaps 8 inches longer with a much longer for right core. Oh, and while I’m at it, selectable fine-tuning in 1 kHz steps on MW. Is that too much to ask?!
Yes, I would've loved to have selectable bandwidth filters and 1 KHz stepping, too. My guess is that it would add to the cost of the radio. Have a good weekend.
A beautiful set. Does it all receive the MW in HD, not that I have anything left here in HD, but there are definitely digital only stations on MW now.
You really need a good signal to receive a station that still broadcasts in HD. Even without the HD, it receives analog MW stations well.
How come a radio station would show hd if it doesn’t lock in hd
The signal is not strong enough to lock in HD.
@@tvradio1972 ok
That doesn't have a carrying handle, does it?
It has a carry handle. If you go to 5:28 you'll see it.
@@tvradio1972 Yes, I see it now.
I got Wpht to lock in hd last night. When I heard the hd signal it scared me. Because I was not expecting it to lock in
I have a couple of questions for you about this radio that I use every day. So I’m all the way in Troy Michigan. And I can pick up Wpht 1210. During the day and night. I can also pick up kyw 1060. Day and night. How can I get those to stations from 9 hours away? And what does the zip code feature do? And what does the tuneing region do?
I guess it depends on what time of day you listen to WPHT & KYW. If it is an hour or so before sunset or after sunrise, you might be able to get them. The zip code feature is used to alert you of advisories and warnings that pertain to your area. The tuning regions let you set the range of frequencies and tuning steps that pertain to your region.
@@tvradio1972 cool
@@tvradio1972 thanks
Also why is there a peace of ribbon in the battery department
It makes it easier to take the batteries out.
@@tvradio1972 oh. Ok. Can I cut the ribbon out? Or will that make the batteries not fit anymore
@@bennolanswaggerdiaperteenbaby You can if you want, but you might have a hard time taking the batteries out if you do.
