The Impact of AI on Fairness - An Equity Dilemma

The Penn State Community Health Equity & Engagement in Research (CHEER) team offered an educational session aimed at addressing the power and pitfalls of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its intersection with healthcare and research. Guided by experts in the field, this session presented AI’s ability to both mitigate and exacerbate health disparities. Content highlighted the downstream impacts on underrepresented populations and how an equitable lens is critical to AI implementation to reduce these unintended consequences.
