Hi, your video is very informative video. I have the same turntable refuses to spin up after depressing 33 or 45. Can I have your expertise suggestion for troubleshooting this gem?
Unfortunately not effectively using comments in UA-cam. Check out audiokarma or vinylengine, join either forum and start a thread...more eyes to help you get it sorted out.
Could be any number of things...out of spec cap, bad IC chip, bad transistor, burned resistor, broken trace, out of 'alignment'...etc. I would start by trying to adjust it per the service manual. Assuming you cannot (very likely) then it's a matter of ID'ing the bad component and replacing it (pending on availability). Unfortunately it's typically not an easy fix.
You should try the simple things first, Clean the speed adjust potentiometer and the tape head that senses the speed before even thinking about removing boards etc,
Damn this aint your every day Lab 80 ! Must have been a contest for highest parts count on a TT. Getting old I have an advantage. I cant hear the difference anymore ! LFOD !

thanks, I've got caps and transistors to replace, hope it's not IC chip, can't find one

I’m always leery on adjusting that tape head, but you’re recommendations are good ones before diving in too deep.

I'm sure I cannot hear the difference anymore. It's all about how distracted I am while listening...
