I saw a video on how farmers in early America would paint their barns with a cheap rust solution because paint was scarce and expensive back then. As a result barns were painted red. Nowadays however paint is cheap and easily accessible, yet farmers still customarily paint barns red and most dont know why.
For those getting upset and wanting proof and data, just know, this is a hypothetical experiment. That means it's never actually been done. But it's still holds importance in understanding pack mentality and asking the question "why". The animation and storytelling for this was beautifully done!
@@dreamythesheepdid they stop when all the confederates were replaced? Did they introduce new subjects after all of subjects caught on? How long after did they continue playing the tone for the subjects to stand? I don't doubt that some subjects will continue to stand at the tone but I'm confident that at least one will eventually decide to stop and once there's no observed consequences the group will split (some will probably still believe there is some unforseen "punishment" for not standing, and will continue out of fear).
As a young thing, I would always ask, "Why? Why does X work this way?" I was often told that I wouldn't understand, it doesn't matter or you'll find out some day. Then I understood that the "why" question is best resolved through education - away from those who do not want to know. This is why critical thinking skills are so very important in life (as evidenced ⬇).
Education is what got it all wrong. Wisdom is what you want to gather, by wondering and wandering. You won't ever get the right answer from another human, and especially from the education systems. You must seek wisdom for yourself.
This to me is a reflection on society. Whenever someone tries to "climb the step ladder" toward thier goals and dreams everyone else gives them so much hate for it and makes it seem like it is a ridiculous idea. Because we have all been conditioned to act as little soldiers for the greater powers of the world, to keep people in line as workers, so that they can stay rich. Work a job and make money good Chase dreams and get to the top bad
I was very close to achieving my goals once and then C19 happened and took it away from me. Afterwards I tried to climb again and even though my friends had the same goals and liked doing the same thing as me (DJing and organizing parties), all of them said "why don't you get a real job like us?" and that... was the end of the friendship.
This is called social learning, remember as a kid we would always follow what others did because we thought thats what were supposed to do? I think this experiment was talking about social learning, idk i just thought of it hahahahaha
There are some missing points. Why multiple monkeys (or all of them) didn't climb the ladder? In the instinct of monkeys, is to be rather up than on the floor. Who was the leader of the group?
Denise Loren Perfect thoughts, and very noticeable is also the fact that they have raincoats to not dry themselves. And the water spray could also be a case.

One always accepts that someone you do not know needs the info.
Yea. I've been trying to find proof of this experiment in the form of video and... Yea.. there isn't any I can find as of yet. Just a simple question.. where is real footage of this?
@@shinobi_trader6188 We can't simply extrapolate the social behavior observed from that experiment to be true for humans, because social constructs among monkeys don't represent human social constructs 1:1.
