Well Paul, the front panel looks fantastic, I'm in awe of how you've got your head around those wires. I remember a long time ago when watching one of your videos you said electricals was not your forte, well what can I say well done you. its going to make such a difference. I've also been following the progress of the engine shed with David "Bexhill west " thats looking good, what a lot going on you have. Looking forward to seeing the progress. Stay safe Eddy xx
That's good work and it's all coming together very neatly. Every UA-camr I've heard mention DCC Concepts has had nothing but good things to say; they seem to be a great outfit when it comes to customer support. Some of the bigger players in railway modelling could learn a lot from their attitude.👍👌😁
Well done Paul..you persevered with it and you came out on top..And you did a superb job..And well done to DCC Concepts for helping you with the project.. Allan..
Nice job Paul. When I did my first mini panel I had all sorts of fun too. But then by the time you get to third one, it all gets easier. There's still some things are fun, Dapol semaphore signals for instance with proper interlocking are going to be fun. As is building the signal gantries for Basingstoke. Now that will be fun.
Hi Paul - That mimic panel is excellent and it will be great to see it fully in action. I too can endorse DCC Concepts and in particular John who was very patient in answering my novice questions......…...Keep Well...……...……...Cheers Kev
Hi Paul loved the video on the control panel. I was hoping you would show punching out a hole also with the led lights how are they connected and does the led light stay on showing the route as the switch goes off when it returns to centre. Sorry if it sounds obvious but I’m not very switched on when it comes to electric (excuse the pun)
And that one was the second most difficult one to make, but you now have that experience to carry forward to The Big One. My friends are working on two mimic panels for me, but not DCC. Good luck. (Good luck to John at DCC concepts too.) Martin. (Thailand)
Brilliant stuff Paul, and quite eye opening to what is possible I. Terms of electronic control. I’m looking forward to seeing it in action soon. All the best, James
Watched this with considerable interest although I did not understand some of it. The project seems like a Black Art but that is a thought from someone who is still using a Triang P5 controller I bought in 1955. I can see the benefit and the pleasure of getting a project like this right must be strong.
Great job Paul can believe you made it all fit. I saw a video from dean park station a while back where he had a solution for double slips using a extra latching relay. Hope that helps Cheers Justin
Hi Paul, loving the new panel and for making the video interesting. It could easily have dragged, but you edited it very well. Id love to see you operating the panel showing what it does to the layout, with few trains moving in the process. When I first got double slips I too just looked at it wondering what on earth do I do for the train to... took me few days to see what was going on, especially with the wiring. We live and learn, dont we?
Just a thought Paul - to improve the look of the panel you can get black waterproof rubber covers for the toggle switches. I just bought some from CPC for a project...
Great video on your mimic panel design! Perhaps I missed something in the comments on how you designed the printed image. Could you share what software was used? Thanks.
Hello Paul, thanks for the video. I've only just watched it but I've found it very helpful. Where did you find the "arches" on which you put the circuit boards to lift them clear of the panel? Thanks.
I really enjoyed the video. I learned so much, thank you. Can I ask why you chose to use toggle switches? DCC Concepts make LEDs that are also push buttons therefore toggle switches are not needed.
I've made a bunch of panels, but it never occurred to me to solder the wires to the switches etc in advance. I've always mounted them first then soldered in situ. I'm 12 minutes in - will be interested to see if you end up with a tidier result!
Paul, i do it into Dutch.
It's official Paul, you have scared the living daylights out of me. Think I will build my layout and scenery and just look at it, nothing running too scared re wiring lol, only joking but it does fill me with loads of trepidation. Always scary when you watch others and have not yourself progressed to that area, you dont really know what they are talking about. Bit like wiring points, until you do your first one none of it makes sense. All the same Paul very interesting and what a super way to operate your layout, well done mate. Regards Chris
Hi Paul. I am new (and subscribed) to your channel, so I have not seen any earlier videos. You said a friend printed your diagram, but what software was used to create it?
All coming along nicely, Paul! Mimic panels look great. Nice and neat. Can I ask what make and model your wire strippers are, please? Best wishes from the Wirral!
Nice panel. Phone rings at DCC concepts... "It's Paul" "you get it" "no you get it" John gets it and starts sobbing Ha ha only joking. I've always been really happy with everything I've got from them.
Paul, excellent video although I think you should have numbered the points and labled all the cables, but I guess you know that now :) DaveClass47 did something very similar and he needed to add a latching relay to get the double slips to work correctly, I think you need to speak to him before going any further.
I do not wish to be rude but you do tend to waffle on and drift off the subject - the entire video should have been (in my opinion) no longer than 30 minutes.
Hi James, It could James you are correct and yes I waffle, and enjoy that too. Its the way I make my content, and most others seem to enjoy it, cheers Paul

martin welsford cheers Martin I reckon at some point such items are needed even if construction not so welcome lol, Paul
Great job Paul can believe you made it all fit. I saw a video from dean park station a while back where he had a solution for double slips using a extra latching relay. Hope that helps Cheers Justin
Thanks Justin, actually with Johns help the slips were easy to deal with using the cobalt system, ill check out that video too, cheers Paul
Great video Paul. Panels look fantastic and they work! Look forward to seeing them in action. Keep safe and take care, john c
Thank you John Ill have the up and running next video, cheers Paul

Hi Paul, could you tell us a bit more about the NCE panel you mentioned, is it to control the turntable?
Cheers, Bryan.

Is this hardware capable of including leds for block detection ?
Clinchfield Model Railroad N Scale without fully knowing and at a guess is say yes, but a quick call to the Dccconcepts guys will confirm
1st time here and I like what you have done Where did you get the electrical panels that you were using
Dual Pole Double Throw momentary contact switches (dpdt)
Looking good keep posting videos up stay safe

Hi Paul great video. Can I ask what program did you use to draw your diagram. Always look forward to your videos and the way you tell it as it is.
As for the programme I cannot say as a good friend made the plan from my sketches ill try to find out, cheers Paul
DCC concepts are the best.
Nice panel.
