How'd it turn out? I just bought my bearded dragon a 40x20x20 tank and looking for something new I used to think bio active was bad but I'm only about a year into my reptile hobby
I’m about to buy the Terra Sahara substrate on Amazon. Do I need to have the other add ons or can I get by with just using the substrate for a little bit? Love the content!!
Charles Lumsden I think in the UK and Canada they have a company called Arcadia which sells bioactive soils and the plants and wood can be found easily
Oh and will watering the tank not affect my leopard geckos? In the video it seemed you sprayed quite a bit of water, would getting all that water on the geckos not make them sick?
Hi Justin. I recommend having a thermostat linked to your UTH to control the output as needed. To compensate for the substrate layer you might need to, for example, set it at 94 degrees to achieve a 90 surface temperature. I have used the UTH on the side and achieved the appropriate surface temps.
I’ve bought everything you’ve used in this video, and I’ll be replicating it for my western hognose

I love how you pack them with vegetation. I need more room for my sand boas so mine won't be as packed but I do want plenty for the bugs .
You’re the dude? Dude I went to your store today. Thank you
That is the Dude, yes!
The dude abides! You rock my man!
I Really like that setup man
does this substrate cause impaction in leopard geckos?
That moss wouldn’t be good for leopard geckos. That can cause impaction if eaten though.
The terra Sahara is awesome though.

How do you create a humid hide for leos with this kind of setup?
Put your cork flat halfway into the soil.
Cover your 50% and have the front of the cork create an opening for them.
what bioactive setup or supplies do you recommend for an african bullfrog? thank you! :)
Is this a kit that would be appropriate for my western fence lizards?
so how do you keep it moist enough is spraying it down daily good or do i need to water ir down a few times a month?
would this still work for desert scorpions?
No heat basking lamp?. I'm putting one together for a Euromystyx......
do you deliver to the uk and if not do you plan to as my beardie is in need of a bio upgrade

How much will you be selling this tank for
Will you do one for iguanas ?
When I find someone here in TX that has an outdoor enclosure, sure! ; )
Do you ship to Alaska
What sort of monitors

No. Remember the Sahara does not raise the ambient humidity.
and leopard geckos like drinking the dew in the morning so this can mimic that natural aspect.
Yes they do, I always mist mine right when the lights go out and right before they turn back on.
Would a heat mat still be effective?

Can it be used in a wooden Viv or will the moisture under the surface make it rot?
As long as it is water proofed.
The Bio Dude Josh Halter thanks
How often do you have to change the substrate??
+Kali Kaiju You don't! it is just like nature and the floor in nature is not changed and also the bio shot and bugs clean everything for you!
According to Josh's website the substrate should last 10 years if properly maintained.
Do you have package service to Mexico?
Hey there, not at the moment no, but we are working on it!
@@TheBioDudeJoshHalter That sounds great!! Here in Mexico there is a lot of people that loves reptile hobby as in the USA.
So do I need springtails and isopods? Can they live easily in a dessert environment?
The right ones, yes. As I stipulated in the video the BioShot gives you all the benefits of bio with the bugs being a supplementation.
Do he sell them? Or where could I get them
There are Species Specific Cleanup crews on the website. Check under Microfeeders tab
