Ryan: Hey everybody, my name's Ryan. Here at etrailer we install, test fit, and review a lot of different parts. That way we could try to answer any questions those of you might have. That's exactly what we're doing here today on our 2020 Toyota Sienna. We're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Draw-Tite class three, two inch trailer hitch receiver. So when it comes to your hitches for the Sienna, this one is going to be one of my favorites.
That's primarily because of the way it's going to look. It's going to be for the most part completely hidden. Really the only thing you're going to be able to see is a receiver tube opening. So it really does a good job of maintaining that factory appearance. As opposed to some of the other ones that are going to hang down, you're going to see that big crossbar running across there. So this one definitely has an advantage, as far as the looks go.
But these Siennas being really versatile vehicles, you're going to want a hitch that's going to be on the handle just about anything you can throw at it. And the Draw-Tite one is going to be able to do just that. That's partly because since it is a class three, it's going to have that two inch by two inch receiver tube opening. So super common size and a ton of different accessories will work with it. It's going to have a reinforced collar for extra strength, and it's going to have that standard five, eight pin-hole.
Now keep in mind a pinning clip does not come included. But if you need one, you can find it here at etrailer. There's also going to be a smaller hole in front of it. That's going to be there for the use of a J-Pin stabilization device. What that's going to do is eliminate any slop replay here in the connection point. So if you can hear your accessories rattling around a little bit, and that bothers you, you could always pick up that J-Pin device here at etrainer to eliminate that.
It's going to have loop-style safety chain openings, which I do like these. They're relatively large and open and will allow us to use just about any size hook that we might have. The h`itch is going to have some pretty impressive weight capacities. As far as the maximum gross tongue weight rating goes to be 525 pounds. That's going to be the amount of weight that's pushing down on the hitch. That's a pretty high number, and you should be able to use pretty much any size bike rack, or cargo carrier that you'd want to for example. As far as the maximum gross trailer weight rating goes, it's going to be 3,500 pounds. That's going to be the amount of weight that's pulling on the hitch. So it does the weight of your trailer plus anything that you might have on it. This edge can be used with a weight distribution system, which is a separate component. Whenever you use that, what it's going to do, is keep your trailer and your Sienna nice and level, as you're going down the road. But with that being said, the weight capacities are going to remain the same at 525 pounds and 3,500. I do suggest, never a bad idea just to grab your Sienna's owner's manual. That way you can make sure you're a Toyota can pull-out much weight safely. Now I'm going to give you a couple of measurements, and you're going to use these to help figure out which hitch mount accessories to get. From the ground to the top inside edge of the receiver tube opening, that's going to be about 12 and a half inches. So if you do plan on doing some towing, chances are pretty good. You're going to need to get a ball-mount with a rise. From the center of the hitch pin hole, to the edge of the rear bumper, that's going to be about four inches, and you can use that measurement to figure out, that if any folding accessories you might have, can be stored in an upright position without contacting the bumper. So at the end of the day, a great all-around hitch. Not only is it going to look good, but it's going to allow you to tow your trailer around or use your accessories. Now, as far as the installation goes, it's really not too bad. I will show you a couple tips and tricks to make it go much faster. It's a lot easier. So you shouldn't really have too many issues whenever you're putting the hitch on, at home, and your garage, or maybe even in the driveway. Speaking of which, let's go ahead and put it on together now. To begin our installation, we're going to be here underneath the back of our Sienna. The first thing that we need to do is mark our underbody panel here. So we just want to find the center of it. So I just eyeballed it. Actually if you split the distance from the area
