It is so simple and so difficult at the same time for us people of God. It is a great sacrament and very scriptural. So many other christian denominations miss out on this empowering sacrament.
Very well done. I think it captures the reluctance of any sincere person. Not easy to go to confession but it is great to examine ones conscience and it keeps me anyway in check. I have through regular confession that I become aware of things that are not so good and I bring them before the Lord also. Things I would not have considered before I am more conscious of now. If you're on the fence about going to confession, let me promise you two things: 1. It's worth it. 2. The priest will help you. It might feel unfamiliar or intimidating, but he's there for you (just as Christ is). By the time I turned 30, I had only gone to confession a few times in my life. I'd wondered why I should even go; I went to Mass, been involved in my parish, prayed each night and before each meal, and sometimes read Scripture, so why go to confession on top of all of that? Well, a few years ago I made it a point to take part in this sacrament at least once a year during Lent. I'm glad I've done that almost every year since.

Productions nothing in the bible supports confessing your sins to a priest you go straight to God through our Lord Jesus Christ and with the power of the holy spirit you are brought to the Lord..this is a man made tradition and it isn't right at all..I feel really bad that Catholics are being deceived by this false doctrine and Mary worship

Even though you say there is nothing supporting confessing sins to a priest (although I believe there is) where does the Bible say that confessing sins to someone is wrong? Also, I know many people believe that Catholics worship Mary, but I can assure you that is not true.

I made my First Confession in 1956 and I still say the Act of Contrition I learned at age 8. Oh, my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended Thee because of thy just punishment, but most of all because I offend Thee, my God, who are all good and deserving of all my love. I firmly intend with the help of Thy grace to sin no more and to avoid the near occasion of sin. Amen It's the only one I have memorized and I teach it to my kids in CCD.
As a Christian, I believe that all you have to do is ask God for forgiveness.. Why do Catholics go to confession? Man cannot forgive sin, but God can.. we don't need confession to be forgiven by God.. what do ya'll think about this?
when Jesus told his disciples who ever sins you forgive are forgiven and whomever sins you retain are retain. It's in the bible John 20:23 seems pretty straight forward to me. He gave power of forgiveness through him to his disciples as instruments of his mercy
