- This is the first time any of us have tried eating a peacock bass! Also this is my first time ever catching one, pretty cool! this fish has been on my bucket list since I was a kid so this was a really cool day! .. think it was a 'TRANS DUCK' ... ... It's a Peacock Bass ,, cook it like you cook Bass ... Deep fried / breaded ,, Grilled or Poached in foil Slap-Ya-Mama seasoning ,, lemon slices on top .. wrap foil in tented style .. preferred over campfire or grill ... lemon pepper seasoning always good .. on any fish ..
