Ch 10 foundation ch
R- 1- dc 5,ch 2 *4 join with slst
R-2- dc 4 , ch 2, sk 1, dc 4, repeat, join with slst
R-3- dc 6,ch 2, dc 6 in the first side, repeat , join with slst
R-4- dc 5, sk - 3, ch 3 , join with sc, ch 3 , sk 3, dc 5, repeat, join with slst.
R 5 dc 4, ch 6 join with sc, ch 6 , dc 4, repeat, join with slst.
R- 6- dc 10, ch 2, dc 10 on each side of the square. join with slst.
R- 7- hdc 1 on each stitch, into ch space of 2- hdc2 , for each corner hdc 2 ,ch 2, hdc2 . join with slst.
Square is completed.

@@crochetmoderntrends I had to re-do it multiple times and still couldn't get it to look right. I think what was most confusing for me was you counting the double crochets as you did them as "1 double crochet, 2 double crochet". It might have been easier to follow along if you said, "In the next three stitches we will place 1 double crochet." or "the next three stitches will get a double crochet" or "double crochet in the next three stitches". You could follow that up with simply counting as you complete the stiches, "1, 2, 3". The corner I connected my second color to always ended up looking wrong with every go around. Especially once I got to round 4 and 5. I re-did the pattern from that point on at least 5 times and ended up giving up. Is there a step missing before the chain 3, chain 3 more in that row? The corner space stopped matching up at that point in the pattern. That corner always ended up bulky and seemingly missing the chain space that every other corner had.
