I'm pretty new to this game but I think I know why people generally like Cookiezi more than other top players. I think this is due to the fact that in almost all of his plays, he finishes the map with god-like accuracy. I genuinely think he could easily get to top 10 if he tried but I guess he has his own way of enjoying the game.

@Santiago Rodriguez Newton if you're 3 digit stream speed player, you can stream over 250 BPM; even if ur 4 digit stream player, you have ability to hit some 260 BPM streams
New players won’t understand how good cookiezi really is/was. This is why despite white cat being #1 and insane, cookiezi is still the GOAT of Osu!

@@badereric yeah the reason why not many fc this map was because of that stream. even if some of them fc the stream, they shitmiss on the remaining of the map becuse they were unable to mantain their grip or something like that.

Damn crazy to see how ahead of his time Cookiezi was. Not only did he have better acc against Whitecat who is arguably one of the best aimers the game has ever seen, but he did it with hidden on top, was sight reading past the spaces streams and did it a year earlier. Absolutely godlike.

I think the old-school ones, we still regard Cookiezi as one of the best osu players of all time. And it's not to be any less appreciate Whitecat, it's good, very good. But that won't change my mind with respect to these two big ones.

I don't think we will ever see a #1 that is better than Cookiezi. Compared to all the old legends none of them could beat him in terms of skill across the bored. Some were better with aiming, acc, and other things, but no one was as good at everything like Shige was... If that makes sense... He will be missed.

But I have massive respect for Cookie, no matter how many times people keeps saying there are better players than him now. Fuck that. Cookie inspired most players to get better. I really wish Shige would have kept playing due to his unbeatable HD skills. Don't get me wrong, HD is a mod. But bare in mind he made the first 900pp with just hidden.
I know the buff and what not still. I put that on par with a nomod score. And that's not all, Yomi Yori, Blue Zenith, Everything will freeze, freedom dive. The list goes on with his unbeatable HD scores.
Even until today, granted it was choked but no one else comes close with those mod combinations. Even if you put HD alone few people only a hand few have fced. And Yomi Yori way back before 900 pp, we still haven't even gotten an FC and granted he choked but still, comboing so far already was unheard but with HD? Which was before the buff as well and it could have been 1k from what I heard.
And back when he had that bench icon I saw him do a few low AR streams with HD which were really impressive. I
TLDR: In short, as an HD player I really wish he would have attempted some of the more up to date maps or even improve on his HD skills because no one else is as good as him imo with HD.
