Even without the debris it's dangerous as there could be downed power lines touching the water, and it likely contains sewage from overflowed septic tanks as rural areas often are not hooked up to municipal sewers. One scratch and you could have sepsis. Floods are terrible, worse than tornadoes even. And always remember. Turn around, don't drown. It's easy to miscalculate the depth of water on a road due to the way our eyes perceive light.

I just heard 14 people died in Knott County Kentucky. That’s where Hindman is located. I heard 6 were children. I am beyond devastated for this community. This wasn’t a place used to any flooding on this scale. They unfortunately think the number will rise in the coming days.
