Easily one of the greatest. There is no debate about that. Sean had the chops, the technique, the groove, the feel and the instincts few drummers had before him. Criminally underrated.
I concur man. The incredible skill and versatility of the man was undeniable to any drummer. I believe he was only 20yrs old when recording his drum tracks on ‘Human’ by DEATH … which is still one of my favourite drumming albums. Edit : Already that good at 20 = 🤯 !

Rest in Peace, SEAN. HE WON'T BE FORGOTTEN. :( thanks for sharing it!
What a drummer! You couldn't pigeonhole him into one genre. He was death metal, fusion, rock etc. He was a pioneer of no boundaries for us heavier drummers. Made it look so effortless.. RIP and condolences to your husband and family ❤️ you'll be missed by a lot of people.
The greatest drummer we will ever see. Rest in peace. Thank you for your incredible contribution. I wish there were more people with such a broad understanding,.as well as the capability Sean Rienhart within music
Living in Japan since '07, every day I kick myself that I never got around to seeing these guys when their original rhythm section was still alive and healthy.
His music affected me so much that I feel the loss like a friend has been lost. Someone who influenced me and made my life better for being in my life. RIP.
A true innovator in the metal realm. His drum flow was so beautiful, serene and powerful... will never forget the first time I listened to "Focus", it completely blew my teenage mind and ears away
My first hearing it was at a concert they opened for someone no idea which show it was anymore but it was a club show and I'd never heard of them before. The crowd wasn't feeling it for the most part. A lot of standing around a few claps after each song. It's not for everyone, but it blew my mind and I bought the Focus CD the next day. I still listen to Focus at least once a month. Heck must of been 1993 or 1994.
That was bad ass..Losing 2 of the best drummers in jst 2 weeks... What a unique individual. Not a predictable drummer by any means. And to be unpredictable but so solid at the same time... Not many drummers that I've seen can pull that shit off n keep it interesting... I knew he was great..but damn.. Was he ever!
Round of applause for this outstanding mix and R.I.P. to a phenomenal drummer. Edit : The time change @ 3:04 (with that fretless bass) following the tom work is so tasty.
Sean's playing and music was a before and after in my life, i've listend all of his work, a true genius, gone too soon, i cant believe it. We all Love you Sean, thank you so much for your creativity and passion
I noticed the slower tempo but was also sitting here thinking just how clear his hands were. I mean you could really see the nuances of his technique. Hands down my favorite drummer. I started when I was 4 years old. Discovered cynic as a freshman in high school. His playing helped me see drums in an entirely new way.
Thank you so much for getting such an amazing quality video of this legendary man. Been one of my top drummers for years and I can't beleive he is gone
Absolute beast, never overdone, always keeping the music first. I re-watched Death by Metal last night, and the whole section about Human is pretty much Sean's drum work being praised. Recorded long before his passing, which speaks volumes about his skill.
Video and audio are really good! Thanks for uploading! When was this? And will you be uploading more? Sean was a great inspiration for a lot of people and an awesome drummer! Thanks for sharing!
He was the neil peart of death metal.
Wow cool !!! I see what you mean, for sure.
Kind of but Sean was better versed in other styles
@@weshoskins74 true. sean was a lot more dynamic in his playing and in combining styles. one of the best to ever do it
no, neil peart was the sean reinert of prog rock
This man changed metal drumming forever with his unique style. Human is this day one of my favorite death metal albums.
I knew Sean personally, since he was 15. He was already good at that age, but honestly, he eventually became one of the greatest of all time.
Thanks for the insight! Yes he is!!!
Bless you man wish I had the pleasure of meeting him

He won't be forgotten indeed. ;)
Worked with him at a drum clinic. One of the nicest and funniest monsters to ever step behind the kid. Unmatched in my opinion.

My thoughts exactly. My first and second favorite drummer gone within the first month of the new year.
Max Hart Who was the other drummer that died?
Edit: Nevermind, I remembered immediately after I commented, two of the best drummers in prog RIP.
Guy was just on a completely different level. Innovator in every sense.
I was lucky enough to see him play with cynic like 9 years ago and they were so tight. Sean lived up to the hype and then some

Oh man, this video captures his phenomenal technique perfectly. So much feel in his playing. Thank you so much for the video upload.
Sadly it's at a slower tempo. But nonetheless it's still an amazing drum vid
I noticed the slower tempo but was also sitting here thinking just how clear his hands were. I mean you could really see the nuances of his technique. Hands down my favorite drummer. There’s the full show and it’s actually good quality. Search Cynic live in Japan (it’s a 2015 upload).
Props to the bass player !
