lets also ignore the fact that tiny tina is canonically already an pre-adult and roland died when she was 13 (guessing by the fact that shes wearing here BL3 like attire and not BL2).

Let's also acknowledge that this is a movie based on a video game that not very many people have played outside of its base. This is clearly an adaptation of 1 with elements of PS and 2. Tiny Tina is here because she's a breakout character who got her own spinoff game. Brick is not here because Krieg is filling that role. Mordecai is not here because let's be honest Mordecai is mid-tier at best. Considering Roth's recent work, I'm hyped. @Rowojon
@@Kasumiwumii dont know if you have seen the cast of the movie but there are a lot of characters from borderlands 2. Krieg, Hammerlock, Jakobs. There is even a chracter from borderlands 3!

Me as well. I know I am a super fan and that I had higher expectations. But this was not at all what dedicated franchise gamers deserved.

You're giving Hollywood too much credit. Studios expect projects like this to bomb, so they go into cost-saving mode. Step one is "find an existing script you have lying around that you can slap brand identity onto with minimal changes".

The props and set designs are on point at least. They didn’t needlessly redesign everything and stuck to the source material for visuals. But the casting for so many of these characters feels so off and no Brick or Mordecai is just baffling
Props and set design are incredible and may actually have been influenced by someone familiar with the source material. The casting, writing, and acting not so much.

These are some questionable casting choices. It's almost like they realized that live-action movies based on video games usually flop, so they leaned hard into that.
Moxxi's actress is 61. Lilith's is 54. I HAD TO GOOGLE WHO IS BEING POTRAYED BY JAMIE LEE CURTIS, who is fucking 65!

Not a one person fits to their role: Tiny Tina and Craig zero energy, Lilith and Tannis technically same but also freaking old, Roland is now Kevin Hart and Claptrap is Jack Black voice. Tiny Tina is not acting like Tiny Tina, Krieg is not acting like Krieg, Kevin Hart is not Roland material and Cate is a good actress, she's not young enough to be Lilith... Jamie Lee could put down a proper Tannis, but that's about it. Thankfully we see them survive the Guardian fight so there goes all the tension but hey! We got Jack Blacktrap pooping bullets!

Only thing it looks like they nailed the look of here is the Psychos (Including Krieg, although I think he should be bigger). Everything else looks like it was ordered from Wish.
I don't know if this is the worst adaptation I've ever seen or it just feels that way because I care so much for the source material.

This looks like a movie where if you ignore the obvious stuff being off, you can have fun with it.
Im going to assume its an alternate timeline borderlands where the events of the games hasnt or never well happen.
Yeah, I know the adaptations are nowhere near similar, but this doesn't feel like an adaptation of The Dark Tower, hopefully they're not going to cram a lot of non-in-game props and stuff. Everything looks pretty authentic to the game equivalent even if the guns are now secondary characters in that regard...

I had low expectations, and this has met them, perhaps if you'd arbitrarily thrown some more big names in to the mix. Now if the whole movie had been given a cell shaded quality, that would have been impressive.
Why is Roland cast by Kevin Hart? Roland was tall, muscular and well spoken and not a bit funny. He was serious and we the players needed his seriousness. Some may think that Kevin’s Hart is funny, but funny is not at all right for this role 🤦🏽♀️ Where is a Brick? Where is Mordecai? WHERE IS MY GUN DEALER MARCUS!? WHY DIDN’T THEY SHOW LILITH AS A SIREN!? And that girl playing Tiny Tina is…Perfect, she screams Tina to me 🥰 But there should be NO TINY TINA if this follows BL1 🤷🏽♀️ The rest? I love Jamie Lee Curtis as Tannis, but Tannis never went on missions until BL3, and they have her dressed like Commadant Steele! 🤦🏽♀️ Krieg was introduced as a DLC ADDITION, and so should not be in this movie at all🤷🏽♀️ Gina Gershon, 61, plays Mad Moxxi, one of the sexiest female characters we have, and the woman playing her is TOO OLD. Cate Blanchett is 54 playing a 26-28 year old Lilith and also looks old. AND WHO THE FUQ IS LARRY!? 😖 Gearbox, why did you go away from the source material…YOUR AWARD WINNING GAMES!? Roland was actually a LOT funnier in BL1! He got serious for the 2nd game, but it the first he actually had a lot of comedic lines. Also if you look closely you can see Lilith phaseshift everyone in the trailer! Unclench, my dude, it looks fun! ^_^

I've never played Borderlands but based on the effects and the look of the movie alone, it looks amazing. I'll probably watch it just for those tbh.

Ariana Greenblatt is potentially a good choice. Annoying short guy as Roland is bad choice. Hot actresses from the 80s & 90s to play characters that appeared much younger in the games - leaves me scratching my head. Jack Black is an OK choice.

"From the same producer as Uncharted, Spider-Man, and Venom" is not something to bragging about, none of those movies were good and this seems to be right on par. As a huge fan of the Borderlands games, and fully understanding this is an adaptation and not meant to be the same story as the games themselves, this is still a 'wait until it's on netflix' type of movie for me. Definitely not going to the theatre to see this one.

oh wow, last time i checked the IGN trailer channel it was 23k likes to 21k dislikes, now it's at 32k likes and 890 dislikes. I smell something shady afoot.
My best hope for this movie is it turns out to be a so bad its good situation. They have really good name actors in the movie, problem is none of them seem to fit the characters they portraying from the games, except maybe Krieg. I really wish they went the Handsome Jack route as well and got the Dameon Clarke(the Voice Actor for Handsome Jack) to play him as he is also a good live action actor and if you have ever seen "how to be a serial Killer" with him staring in it, you could see he could do a perfect on screen Handsome Jack.
All that said I still will probably go see it if for nothing else to see how much of a train wreck it will be. Maybe it will surprise me but I doubt it.
My best hope for this movie is that some horrible internet virus is developed that will infect every computer on earth so it destroy all evidence this movie exists.
