Aki did a stream where she went over every single song in her 4th Anniversary Live. This here is a clip of the portion where she talks about the process behind her performance of "Kimi no Gin no Niwa" with Mio and AZKi. Expand for translator's notes.
0:00 - I didn't want to cut into the intro of the song, or leave clearly untranslated words from Aki, so this section is a bit out of context. I think it's still understandable somewhat as is, but if anyone is caught up on the beginning: Aki had previously been talking about how the cameraman had to go all over the place in order to keep up with the angles and shots Aki wanted for her performance in the previous song. I also had trouble deciding where to place the subs. I originally put them in the spot I usually put them (at the bottom of the video), but it covered the performance. I was suggested to raise upward, and... well, now it covers Aki. The focus of the video is her commentary on the performance so I ultimately decided to go with covering Aki over the performance. If you'd like to see Aki's facial expressions, the source video is linked in the description!
1:11 - This performance is actually the most viewed portion of Aki's live. When I watched Aki's concert live, I was expecting the climax to be the song before this since it had such a degree of finality to it, but she opted to end on the entirely new grouping of Aki-Mio-AZKi. I think a lot of people who have heard the three of them sing could easily just kind of think in their head that they'd sound great together, but Aki really went the extra mile to figure out just how to make them sound good. Pretty much every single fanbase (JP, EN, ES, etc.) have high regards for this portion of the live, and some even call this trio "Hololive's 3 Goddesses."
1:24 - Aki's description of AZKi's singing is pretty straight forward, she thinks she has a beautiful singing voice. However, the term she uses to describe Mio's is a bit trickier. She says 訴え掛けるの強さ. Honestly, I wish I had more space and time in the subs to elaborate better... which is why we have this note! Basically, the phrase 訴え掛ける, in this context, means to be able to evoke emotions within someone, and the 強さ part means "strength." So literally, "her powerful ability to evoke emotions through her singing voice." I thought "emotional" singing voice might be easier to understand, but my QCer suggested "evocative," and really, that word carries the intent behind Aki's words better than anything else, including "emotional." My only complaint is that it's kind of an uncommon English word so I was a little worried that people might not "get" what Aki meant right away here. That said, in the end, I thought it was the best word for the job, so it's what I went with.
1:46 - Added an extra line here to further emphasize how Aki felt like this song was the perfect song for them. She actually only says it once, but it felt kind of empty so I added in another line for emphasis. It doesn't really take away from what Aki says, but if it bugs you, you can just ignore the emphasis.
2:04 - Aki uses the English words "guide melody," but from what I researched, there's no actual English term that goes by "guide melody." In any case, I wrote the subs to make it clear what she was talking about all the same. In my initial draft, I originally only wrote "guide," but one of my more musically informed QCers suggested I leave it as "guide melody" all the same, is it conveyed the image of what Aki was doing better for him. As an aside, Aki is mad impressive for transcribing the entire song by ear with no score or sheet music as a base or anything.
3:03 - Kalafina was (they disbanded a while ago) a group of three singers: Hikaru, Keiko, and Wakana. Each of them typically have a specific range that they sing in for all of their songs. For example, Keiko sings with low pitch, acting as kind of the bass vocals. Here, Aki is trying to explain that she didn't go exactly the same way as how Kalafina split lyrics up. If you listen to the original and this cover, Mio starts off with most of the low notes, but she does not actually end up singing all of Keiko's parts. There are numerous differences throughout the song in terms of how the lyrics are split up between Kalafina's singers and AZKi/Aki/Mio.
3:47 - Aki's details about the camera movement, how the stage should look, and so on is quite impressive. She basically was the lead director for her live concerts (I believe this is the same as her Alice in Musicland live). The amount of effort she puts into getting details just right is nothing short of amazing. Mio later mentioned during AsaMio that seeing how much effort Aki put in was eye opening for her, and a learning experience.
4:39 - Aki says the phrase: 三者三様, which is a 4-kanji phrase meaning "3 people with 3 unique styles." Kind of an awkward thing to find a direct translation for, so I just explained it as is, but yeah, Japanese actually has a specific phrase for this lol. I was told it can actually refer to more than 3 people, and basically just means "everyone in this current situation is doing something unique from the others with them."
For anyone who has read this far, I actually did a quick rough translated summary of Aki discussing the making of her duet with Korone as well. I don't plan on clipping it, but if you wanted to know, I'll throw it in here too for those interested:
Aki specifically chose the song she sang with Korone because she was looking for a song that fit Korone's style. Like with all of the performances, she put a lot of effort into deciding the details behind the song, from the camera angles, to Korone's entrance, and what lyrics Korone would open with. Aki also mentioned she likes the dance choreography she had with Korone, as it's got a mix of being cute, cool, sexy, and a little silly. During Korone's "sexy" part, Aki pointed out she especially likes the way Korone's tail sways as she moves her hips.
Due to the speed and intensity of the song, it was a difficult song to sing as a duet. Aki said if either of them focused too much on the other person's parts, they'd trip up and miss their own lines, so it was more important for them to focus on their own performances. At the end, when Korone pushes her down, Aki comments that this was her request so that the transition into the next song could start with the camera focusing on her lying on the ground.

Found this gem of a translation! A sub and a bell from me! I have now fallen more for my Aki. She is so detailed to a fault but I love that about her. Aki's live may not have the number others have but Aki will ALWAYS have the quality no one has shown yet. It is pure theatrical bliss to watch Aki's live! Rosetai may not have as a daily live stream but these gems more than enough cover's our lack of daily Rosenium! ♥♥♥

Preparing for live concert like this is very detailed and time-consuming. Glad that everything worked out very well in the concert. As Kalafina fan, I am so touched by this performance

I really like how Aki used the boxes throughout the performances. It's not like it's groundbreaking new tech or anything, but she used it in various different ways and it felt fresh because of it, sitting on them, standing on top, laying down, it was a very cool throughout.

Wow great clip, instant sub. I wish there were more clips where the talents talk about stuff like this, it gives real insight on her performance which was absolutely amazing.

It was already impressive enough that Aki was able to perform as amazingly as she did during both of her Live shows. But to think she actually played that huge a role in the background too...Aki really is incredible, isn't she?
Thank you for the clip and the translator's notes, Pentao! It was all very informative and it is all very much appreciated! (and ps: you can add at least one more person to the "some" who use the term "Hololive's 3 Goddesses." Aki obviously earned that title with me long ago, and after this performance, I'd say AZKi and Mio fits the bill too!)

Thank you for the thorough translation from her watch along stream. It really helps us see the amazing detail, thought, and effort she puts into these and why they feel different from a lot of the other lives. Aki essentially performs the producer and director roles and it is obvious she has a real talent for this. If I was one of the other girls I'd hire her to assist with my 3D lives lol.
