Oh my god I was literally going to comment sometimes I feel like I'm frickin telepathically connected to Alex, because every video I want, I literally get it two days later. And she already wrote it. You seeee. Woop woop.
Also can confirm that brown is badass for this. I have the same coloring as you and green eyes and I find it to be just as edgy but super flattering for my complexion!
I know that doing the voiceovers is easier on you so of course, you do you. But I can't explain how helpful it is to hear you detailing every technique when you're applying it "live." Thanks for actually telling us what you're doing "I'm tapping it, not swiping" etc. That is so helpful for those of us who don't know anything about technique. You're the realest UA-cam makeup gal out there. Thanks for being such a rad chick.
When you held up the elf palette, I was silently saying, "Please, oh please, use the gray!" So thank you! Lol. Now I'm going to go blend a gray eyeliner I purchased on accident into my dark circles! You're the greatest!
Literally have decided to be full soft goth since watching that show. Been a long time since I was inspired by someone’s entire aesthetic. So this is thrilling 🔥✨🧡
You HAVE to talk about the contour. It's not you, if you don't. You kill me with your contour always changing and it's already beyond perfect. Never stop! Lol!
Lol agreed! All the contour changes have me thinking about what I’m doing on myself and it’s way more useful than one of those ‘if you have a round face, do this’ diagrams 😊
Funny that you say goth. This is how I do my makeup every single day🤣. I love a good Keira Knightley, Mila Kunis, Avril Lavigne, Sandra Bullock (in Oceans...) moment...💕💕💕
Honestly, I love how you explain how your contouring routine changes. It's very helpful to learn with you through your experience. Thanks! Great video!
Growing up in the 90’s..this is one of my favourite nostalgic styles! Also love seeing goth on blondes as I have very similar colouring so this is super helpful! Thank you! Can’t wait to try this today! 🖤🖤🖤
i always felt like heavy water lining and grunge makeup altogether really compliments someone like me who has very low contrast levels between our hair, skin and eye color. it just does something magical and helps me look less...invisible? washed-out? gray? you know what i mean?
I've got say that I'm really happy that this "next day outcome of sleeping with eye make up on" smoky look is trending these days, because I have always loved it.
You literally do the best tutorials! Super informative, easy to understand, and casual. Your makeup tutorials are the ones that I can watch all the way up to the end without forwarding/skipping some parts. Love the whole look, it really suits you esp your eyes!!! So gorgeous. This made me want to try the whole "undone" and 90's grunge looks as well. 🖤🤍🖤
I hope she sees these wouldn't it be good if she did more of the quicker ones ? I posted above where she used her fingers it looked based on me how do you do your cheeks ? ty ▪◾
Idk why I've been loving an undone eye look too. It seems to be pulling me in. It's all I've been wearing on the weekends. I also watched Wednesday AND beabadoobee makeup tutorials keep getting recommended to me. She has very all the same coloring and face shape as me. It nuts but I welcome it lol.
I saw a clip yesterday of Paulina being made up when she was Estée Lauder’s face. The application process was very different than today. Much less complicated, no concealer, blended by artist’s fingers. Foundation served as base for shadow. Shadow applied with the applicator that comes with shadows. The latter I am learning makes for more control. No waterline, brown pencil liner, whole lid and upper the same color. Very soft effect. Some brown shadow as bottom liner. Blush used for rosy color not contouring. All these informed my make up application over the years - I’m 69. So I followed that formula today. What a difference. So soft and beautiful.
Especially loved the use of the greys, in the lining and the crease. This aesthetic has been one of my go-tos for ages, so thanks for teaching an old dog new tricks. 😉
This is a classy smokey literally everyone no matter their gender can wear this eye look and stand out. I'm a boy I feel the most comfortable wearing this eye look ,this is so cool and Alex always makes it easier for us and helps us the most! Thank you Alex, you're the best 🙏🏼
I just finished ep 4 of Wednesday and you should DEFINITELY do the makeup that Bianca is wearing at the dance. It looks bomb and feels so up your alley - teal, eye paint, gems, it's got everything
I love a grudge eye. Would love to see more of this look..I wish I could wear this all the time, it’s such a soulful look. Thx for doing this look…love watching you create your unique looks.
Also, You do undone eyelooks THE BEST!!!! Please keep those coming! I feel like they are all I ever have time for (mom of a 3 yr old) and they are so fun! You inspire me with every look you do in this fashion 😍
I know her lip was MAC Nightmoth pencil mixed with Dr. PawPaw balm for a more sheer color. MAC Script in the crease, carbon under the eyes, and Glitch which is a metallic black used as a liner. Is what I read. Your version looks perfect, as your makeup always does.
Omg Alexandra, I took a hiatus from social media but a couple years ago I watched you religiously and you had around 100k followers congrats to the 1 and half Million!! 🎉 I’m so happy to see how well you’re doing! Makeup is GORGEOUS as always 💕 💅🏼
The Milk under eye primer looks interesting to me as a 50 year old woman. I like the idea of not having to set my concealer to avoid enhancing fine lines and wrinkles. Would you suggest it for that?
Suuuuch a good look. I’ve been so scared to experiment with cooler toned eyeshadows because of my warmer darker skin but I’m down bad for this look thanks alex
LOVED this look. Always have a soft spot for some goth inspired eyes. And I actually feel like I could do this one with your tutorial! Love the tip to use grey instead of black too x
Your makeup videos keep me sane. Literally. I've been unwell and it feels like I'm watching a close friend when I watch your looks. Hope your 2023 is off to a great start. Take care, Alex. PS: I can't wait to try all of these products.
I have very dark lashes and brows and I love that Maybelline sky high in brown black. I use a small amount to get my very challenging brows to hold in place.
It would be amazing if you could do a makeup look inspired by the sirens from Wednesday too❤ apparently they used a stencil and highlighter for the iridescent scales on their cheeks and neck and I’d love to see what you would do. Like using fishnets or something for an affordable/ easy to find tip. I love you and your videos so much thanks for all your hard work❤
Ahhhhhhh thank you for this! I just finished watching the show and was literally just thinking how I wanted to recreate her makeup look… and her checkered sweaters 🖤🤍
i love this - i feel like as someone with blue/gray eyes these almost black looks are way more intense looking on me than on someone with darker colored eyes, i feel like it almost looks more natural on you in a way! so pretty
What's funny is that this was my look for most of high school and first year of college. I couldn't afford makeup so all I had was a maybelline black pencil eyeliner, the wet n wild eggshells mini palette and a maybelline bb cream. I miss those days a lot, will probably recreate with my high end stuff now :,)
Absolutely would love to see more grunge/goth looks! I would love to see your opinion on the elf sunscreen and color correcting as well. Question: do you have any eyeshadow primer recommendations for super oily eyelids? UD primer potion, Mac paintpot, and nars all haven’t worked (nars has worked the best however). Love your videos!

I felt amazing, it came out amazing. I was a glittery little star. so I just want to say thank you. for opening up this whole part of me, being my cool older sister, and helping me love myself just a little bit more. you’re amazing. happy new year ❤
Oooooh i am so loving this look. I was hoping you'd do a goth style makeup. The eyes are amazing . So enjoyed this. Looking forward in your next video. 🖤💜🖤
Good to be back ... bring it 23! I love the ondone eye look. Just reminds me that makeup doesnt have to be a precision art... and that anyone can achieve these grungy, sweet as ..cool looks! Id love to see more of these if you get the inclination 👍
Ok, I've basically been on an Alex binge the past few days. I cannot get enough of the vibes, the artistry, the entire package. Alex, from the bottom of my heart, I'm so sorry I've been sleeping on you for so long (not like... literally on you... obviously) but I'm bringing my fan girl in full force and making up for lost time.
i love this look. i have fair skin also and have trouble making my dark eyeshadow look soft. instead of using concealer and contours to tie in my look all together, i use a freckle pen to give myself extra freckles in the areas i choose. most often the cheekbones and high across my nose. this way it lets me have my natural complection (what i prefer) while also allowing everything to look unified. as well as using orange toned blush. just putting this out there for people who want alternatives💓💓
This look is so H.I.M. coded I love it. I was looking for a tutorial that could help me replicate Ville Valo’s gothic grunge eye and there is no creator I would love to take pointers from more than you so this is perfect.
Does the color look weird on this at all? I got a new computer so it might take a couple videos to get adjusted!
Looks normal to me! 🎉
Look ok. But what happened to your right ear. It looks so red.
You match the background a bit, but still, our lovely Alex!!
No, the color looks fine.
It looks fine, don't worry
Yes! More smokey/grunge look content please. It’d be amazing to see quicker, foolproof options for day to day wear. Thank you!
How did you know I needed this in my life right now
Telepathy 😈
Same 😭
Oh my god I was literally going to comment sometimes I feel like I'm frickin telepathically connected to Alex, because every video I want, I literally get it two days later. And she already wrote it. You seeee. Woop woop.
Same, girl!
Please we need the soft goth Wednesday makeup tutorial please 🖤🖤🖤🖤
On it! 🙌🏼
@@AlexandraAnele yayyyyy thank you!!! You are my favourite 💖💖💖💖
Also can confirm that brown is badass for this. I have the same coloring as you and green eyes and I find it to be just as edgy but super flattering for my complexion!
Actually adoring the fact that Wednesday has given the goth scene the light it deserves. Love gothy/grungy looks so much.

Hehe, as a 90s gal with hooded lids, this was legit the only look we could do as soon as we got our hands on makeup. Love it ❤

Using the dark circles for the blending the smoky eyes, genius move😊
I love the more subtle goth look! Not everyone wants a 80s kiss inspired look and that’s definitely what you normally find. The difference is great
Girl, YOUR bonestructure is perfect! How can you not see that??? You're GORGEOUS!!! 🤩😍🤩

happy 2023!
Hey Alex, I saw her eye makeup in closeup and I think she has a lot of glitter going on too, both on the lid and under her eyes.
This look is amazing! I really like the idea of working with the darkness around the eyes instead of hiding it. That earring is also perfect!
Giving me memories of Highschool goth days 🖤

Question: do you have any eyeshadow primer recommendations for super oily eyelids? UD primer potion, Mac paintpot, and nars all haven’t worked (nars has worked the best however). Love your videos!
alex, I have to tell you what you’ve done for me.
decided a few months ago that I wanted to learn how to do my makeup (im 27). I had 0 knowledge before, and I was so intimidated. I tried to watch many others channels but I just felt uncomfortable, like I couldn’t connect at all with the creators, they felt really distant. then I found you, and you became my teacher. over the last few months, i’ve watched all your videos and learned so much-about contour, about blending eyeshadow, about dermaplaning! every two weeks when i’ve gotten paid, i’ve taken one of your recommendations and bought myself a product. watching your videos, trying out your tutorials, and filling my once empty makeup bag has become literally one of my favorite pastimes and it makes me feel SO feminine and fun.
last weekend (NYE), I whipped out my makeup bag full of makeup you showed me, armed with all your tips and tricks, i did a full face of glam makeup to go out with my partner. I felt amazing, it came out amazing. I was a glittery little star.
