Well, there's really not a lot I can say for the game, or also not fawn over the series like many do in general since it just never "did it" for me, unlike 'Interstate 76/Vigilante 8' series, even though this lasted longer and became more popular haha (within games, and some other things I don't always go with the "winning side" I admit). Now, besides that I did play TM2 some but I can't remember much specific about it, objectively it is a pretty decent game for the combat racing stuff yeah. The other I messed with enough, 'Black' for the PlayStation 2, I'd say I like more but not for better visuals or anything to be clear just to me and what I can remember it seemed, better. This one though, yeah as you said for the time and such, its fine. I've seen more than a few cite it as their favorite of the series so, there's that but I think as usual you were fair in the result for it, things considered. Personally I just like you went about it level headed and not, fan style, sometimes that gets a little grating for me personally when it comes to TM I admit.
Played the crap out of this game until the Vigilante 8 games came out. Then played the crap out of them. Those are also good car combat games worth checking out. These days I'd say Twisted Metal 2 is pretty dated, but it can still be fun if you can adjust to it. Twisted Metal: Head-On is my go to TM nowadays. It's basically a better playing Twisted Metal 2 with some of Black's mechanics thrown in there.
This was one of these games our family got when we got our PlayStation back at '96. It was the best life decision we ever made. LOL P.S.: This game helped me get introduced to Outlaw 2, which looks fine AF. 🍑❤
My personal favourite series since the original installment's release in late '95. I still come back to it regularly due to it's simple and very fun gameplay. You guys pointed out the fairly high difficulty but what wasn't mentioned and can actually take away from some of the enjoyment is that they don't even allow you to play all the way through the single player tournament on the easy setting. You get stopped halfway with a screen that basically insults you saying "No losers allowed beyond this point". So if you want to wanted to see the endings back then or at least do a full playthrough just for the sake of it these days you're forced to put it on medium difficulty. I still find that pretty annoying. That was probably the only real step back from the first one as they did at least allow you to play all the way through on easy in the first one. And easy really isn't all that easy. Especially in the first one. Having to constantly enter cheat codes every time to unlock Minion and Sweet Tooth due to lack of memory card support is also a little annoying too. But if you have the means of playing this with save states you can easily get around that. One more thing I want to point out about this game - Sweet Tooth is the most irritating enemy to deal with in this one with his special weapon. Whenever he's in a level I usually go and take him out immediately just to get him out of the way lol. Anyways, I really enjoy your channel and you two seem like a couple of cool down-to-earth guys with a great camaraderie that's enjoyable to watch & listen to. Keep up the great work!
We appreciate that and yeah we totally forgot about the easy mode troll, that was used so much in the 90’s. Def agree about sweet tooth, he’s a nightmare with that constantly spammed special
@@Drinkabeerandplayagameofficial You can also get infinitely frozen by the AI too. It doesn't happen too often but when it does it's really not fun. Though on the plus side I suppose it would give you an opportunity to have another couple sips of beer while you wait until they're done completely draining your life bar lol. I'd have to say the PS2 entries are technically my favourites to play but the older ones have that added nostalgic value. Jankiness & everything. It would be awesome if you guys ever decide to feature any more Twisted Metal reviews in the future. Or any other games from the vehicular combat genre for that matter. Thanks a lot for the reply btw.
@@damianpamminger2841 we have some more Patreon reviews to get through first but we would love to hit more of TM up, maybe do some Vigilante 8 as well. We did all of road rash years ago so we love the vehicle combat genre

sounds like you guys were playing jet moto too with that outro music
SingleTrac did them too so makes sense!
I bought my PS1 entirely on TM1. TM2 was so damn good, I think I played it more than any PS1 game I had since.
Know the feeling, I was basically in love with TM since the arena level showed up on my friend’s demo disk
Twisted Metal 2 is tight. I wanna play it again so bad.
Kinda shocked there has never been some kind of collection of the oldies
@@Drinkabeerandplayagameofficial I got a awesome collection of playstation games.

I always flip between 2 and Black as my favorite. Will have to give black another go and see how that holds up
I remember playing this for hours at a buddys house. the size of the levels with secrets was awesome.
I love how like everyone level had a secret in it, such attention to detail

Damn i'm used to play this game with my friend
Was so much fun multiplayer
Still fun to play today
Definitely not as easy as I remember but it was fun going back to it
@@Drinkabeerandplayagameofficial Oh yes. On medium difficulty, I try the game without passwords, without using a boss and can’t get past Holland
