Just one of my very favourite parts of the world. Great video Al, am already going to enter next year. Next time you are there I recommend the massive seafood platter in the Jolly Fisherman at Craster and a pint at the ship at Low Newton... perfik.
Cheers Phil! And thanks for the tips, I’ve heard good things about the Jolly Fisherman! I’m partial to both crab and lobster so it sounds right up my street!
Absolutely stunning day. Ran quite a bit of the that route, the other way, on the Alnwick Harriers Northumberland Coastal. Is a tough route, at times, but the views certainly make up for it.
Wow you had great weather Al! We visit this coastline quite often and I've never seen it look better, thoroughly enjoyed the video. Excellent banter with Marc too - hope to see him again on the channel soon.
done the marathon and the ultra version of this... and the finish is so much better. with a nice little kick up into a castle! and yes the circle of doom for ultra was soul destroying lol
I am VERY direction challenged, I need to upgrade to a map watch, it would make my life so much easier. Gorgeous views, can't wait till I build the endurance to tackle such terrain
Ha, that’s a great way of putting it! I’m looking forward to using it fully - got a few longer / more adventurous runs planned this year. Good luck with your training!
Another great video, definitely need to get on this one next time. A couple of years ago we did the Northumberland coast half marathon, it went from Beadnell to Alnmouth.
Think that might be the most scenic one you've filmed, but must've been tough on all that sand and mud, everyone did an awesome job getting round that!
@@AlPepperRuns realised I never replied, few big ones this year! Hardmoors 55 in 2 weeks 😬 Lakeland Trails 100km in July and the The Lap in September! Just had 5 or 6 weeks off with a calf injury so it won't be pretty but I'll get round!! 😂 You got any big ones planned in?
Beautiful route and perfect day for it 👍🏻 I still haven’t had an excuse to use the maps on my Fenix 7 either. Probably get around to using it in a few weeks time. Well done Al 👊🏻
What a great race this looks, you were so lucky with the weather. Great video my friend.
Yeah, Mother Nature was good to us! It’s a beautiful route, Northumberland is spectacular generally! Thanks mate.

Clear skies on that one. Not always like that! Best wishes out there.
Ha, you’re telling me! Couldn’t have been much better… and it’s still February!
Had great weather for the race! Looks a cracking course too going along the beach
Thanks mate! Sand is tough to run on but the views tend to be worth it! In this case they certainly were!

Definitely! Depending on wind it could have been a totally different situation - I couldn’t believe how calm it was!
Gutted that I missed marshalling at this one as it is a fab event. Excellent vlog of the event Al.
Thank you! It was certainly rather lovely weather wise and an even lovelier location to marshal at!
One of my favourite parts of the UK, absolutely stunning coastline…and you captured it perfectly Al. This race is on my to do list 👍🏻
Thanks mate! It’s an absolutely gorgeous part of the world isn’t it. I’d definitely recommend it!
Wow you had great weather Al! We visit this coastline quite often and I've never seen it look better, thoroughly enjoyed the video. Excellent banter with Marc too - hope to see him again on the channel soon.
Thanks Geoff! Yeah, the weather was as surprising as it was spectacular! I’ll let Marc know and get him back sooner rather than later!
done the marathon and the ultra version of this... and the finish is so much better. with a nice little kick up into a castle! and yes the circle of doom for ultra was soul destroying lol
Wow, good going! Did the ultra finish in a different place? The castle would be some backdrop to the finish line! Haha, the loop of doom!
Another excellent video, stunning scenery and of course the highlight being the return of the “is this the winning number?” question!
Thanks Andy! It was long overdue! Didn’t podium in the end but there’s always next week!

lovely place craster
Certainly is Doug! I need to go back for kippers!
First puffin commentary on your channel! I loved hearing about the island and the area. Good run!
Thank you! Marc was great company, I’ll have to get him involved more often!
It’s a long time since I walked on the beach past Bamburgh Castle. Perfect day for it.
It sure was. Couldn’t think of a better place to be! Well maybe the same place but sat with a portion of fish and chips!
Nice one Al 👍🏻. Glad the weather was good for you! Coastal running in the wind would’ve been no joke 😆.
Also im marshalling at Middlesbrough half this weekend so will give you a cheer if I see you 👍🏻
Yeah, 13.1 miles of headwind would have been tough going! Video might have had a slightly more gloomy vibe if so!
@@AmyTheEarthling ah brilliant! That would be awesome. Thanks for volunteering too!
Al, I saw you today at the boro run!! Wanted to say hi but didn't want to interrupt you filming x
Ahhh no way! You should have absolutely interrupted me! Catching up is much better and I can always film it again if needs be! How did you get on?
Wow abs gorgeous!! You had the best day for it, well done!
Thanks Andrea! I know, the beautiful scenery was match by the surprisingly lovely weather! What a day.
What a day, what a race! It looked class every step.
Well done, nice to see you back racing. Looking forward to next week ✌️
Thanks Jamesy! Middlesbrough HM this weekend… and not too long until Manchester!
awesome coastline. Your pal has facts for days.. haa haa haa. Great watch...
Thanks Keith! Doesn’t he just! I had an equally enjoyable and educational time!
Another great video, definitely need to get on this one next time. A couple of years ago we did the Northumberland coast half marathon, it went from Beadnell to Alnmouth.
Thanks Brian! Ahh, so south rather than north along the coast? Good route was it?
@@AlPepperRuns yeah a lot of the course was exactly the same but heading south. It normally takes place in September, run by the Alnwick harriers.
Think that might be the most scenic one you've filmed, but must've been tough on all that sand and mud, everyone did an awesome job getting round that!
It might well be! Absolutely spoiled for stunning scenery! Yeah, it was hard work underfoot, really rewarding though.
This was my first ever Ultra last year! Wish I had the weather you had, we had heavy head winds and rain! 😂 All good fun though!
Hey mate! We were extremely lucky this time around! What’ve you got planned for this year?
@@AlPepperRuns realised I never replied, few big ones this year!
Hardmoors 55 in 2 weeks 😬
Lakeland Trails 100km in July and the The Lap in September!
Just had 5 or 6 weeks off with a calf injury so it won't be pretty but I'll get round!! 😂 You got any big ones planned in?
Looks nice there tbh. Did one of their half marathons on the Gower Peninsula & it was as hard as a hard thing. Nearly as slow as my marathon PB 😂
Haha, a brilliant description of difficulty! This one was challenging but not as hard as Gower by the sounds of things!
Beautiful route and perfect day for it 👍🏻 I still haven’t had an excuse to use the maps on my Fenix 7 either. Probably get around to using it in a few weeks time. Well done Al 👊🏻
Thanks Ian! I’m getting there run by run. Should be an expert by the time summer’s adventures come around!
Wow mate... Views for days! Well done lads
Gorgeous wasn’t it! Thanks Jono!
Fantastic video al for me one of your best amazing scenery lovechild the banter thank you and well done.
Thanks Paul! My pleasure… although there might be a typo in your comment!
@@AlPepperRuns yep it was late when I was typing in the dark.!
I used to live around there. Fantastic scenery. Shame I wasn't running much at that time. Mainly smoking weed in the bird hides.
Haha, same location… different activity! There are certainly worse places to relax aren’t there!
Ha, made the cut (idiot with the silly goatee at the beginning), glad you had a good run
Hey Stephen! Ha, you were great. Was a pleasure meeting you! How did you do?
@@AlPepperRuns I had a good day out :-)
Northumberland does have the best views/coastline. That is all 😂
Haha *mic drop* - it would be tough to argue against it mind you!
