I think Gong Jun is a fair vocalist. I enjoyed his portions of “Tian Ya Ke” and think his voice blended nicely with ZZH’s. However, any time I watch a live recording of him singing, he always sounds a little off. I can’t tell whether it’s too pitchy or too flat. The smooth and rich voice he demonstrated in the recording for the soundtrack doesn’t come through. After giving it some thought, I have two theories: 1) Gong Jun has trouble singing on demand. He can sing well, but he needs time to practice over and over before he can follow the melody of the song confidently. 2) Gong Jun has difficulty singing without music and lyrics to guide him. Perhaps he doesn’t have a strong auditory memory. Maybe instead his super power is in visual input. His singing might improve in a karaoke setting. In conclusion, whatever the circumstances, I admire Gong Jun for having the courage to stand and sing, even when he knows it’s not his strength. His reliance is inspiring. After that video of him singing “Wuhu” went viral, asking Gong Jun to sing or commenting on his vocal skills has become a running joke. In every interview I’ve watched with GJ and ZZH there’s always some mention of GJ’s singing. People in the entertainment industry are incredible. Maybe because ZZH likes to sing and the two of them are promoting the drama together that expectation carries over to Gong Jun. What do you think?

@ M Kull I think it’s a combo of both your theories? I definitely fall into the category of both. I think my voice is flat most times but when there’s music and lyrics I can follow, I’m more in tune and can even hit a few high notes
"Singing without the song will sound terrible" yes that's me, I don't know how to control my pitch to match with the song I'm singing unless the song is played and I sing along with my desired pitch

Simon is like my husband while singing 😅 my husband doesn't really care if he sings good while singing but when he puts a little effort into it it's good. So i think it's the same with simon he cam definitely sing if he puts effort into it but he just enjoys it just like that. That's good though 😊i love them both anyways😍😍
