Wow, that's incredible. I was briefly concerned when you said, "Throughout the rest of his life, Peter continued..." I thought you were about to recount details of an untimely death. I'm relieved to know he's still alive and playing 👍
I remember seeing Peter play in a brass band contest in the championship section. His feet did not touch the floor when sat on his chair. He was the best trombonist on the day and already far better than most top section players would ever be. Fabulous talent.
Excellent support from the diaphragm for such a small young man at the beginning of this. The other thing I noticed - his last words about feeling more comfortable standing in front than sitting in the orchestra - face it, the really good trombone parts in symphonies are very rare. More high quality music needs to be written for the modern player.
@@MrMWPeach If you watch such a skinny little fellow at 2:15 and then hear that beautiful, full sound - how does he do it? Breathing has been much discussed and you can study old clips of Arnold Jacobs or some of the new young guys, but efficient air movement is required.
@@brucekuehn4031 I've no plan to get into a debate here but I will say Mr Jacobs would never say "Support from the diaphragm". He may have said Peter Moore had a "Short bow" at that age, so needed to replenish frequently. What we likely can agree on is that Peter Moore plays wonderfully then and now. He also used his little capacity really effectively back then.
@@MrMWPeach I agree! Young kids often have a “thin” sound. I know I did! Charlie Vernon has been an avid swimmer - great for air. Lots of good stuff on YT for air support for singers as well as brass players.
What an exceptional talent. You can see that by the age of 12, he was almost the complete player. His prodigious skill was clear and he is destined to be a professional musician.
Just watched this on 26 / 09 / 2023 . I'm really pleased to say his parents have joined the village brass band I play for in Saddleworth , Yorkshire . Welcome to Grenville and Jane Moore to Uppermill Band .
I have seen a lot of videos of Polina Tarasenko (I hope I spelled that right), who would be a good subject. I hope to see a lot more of Peter Moore. What lovely sound!
Nice clips - thanks for making the video. Peter’s teacher at Cheetham’s, Phil Goodwin, looks more like David Hasselhoff - I don’t think your picture is correct!

lol I probably should have worded that differently.

Also, playing your solo and having it done has got to be more comfortable than waiting through 123 measures of rest to play your big moment.
Please explain how you think a person supports from the diaphragm? I'm not convinced it's what is going on...

Awesome video of an awesome player and person! Truly inspiring.
What a talented and interesting guy. Thank you for the thoughtful video!
This video was incredible in so many different ways. Looking forward to more of this biography type videos!!
Thanks!
Briant hecht and Christian Lindberg are both goin to be at ITF perhaps you could do a video on one of them
Lindberg yes, but Brian Hecht is nowhere as legendary as these guys.

What an inspiration.
Grande trombonista bravo veramente se pensiamo che suona uno strumento difficilissimo e faticoso!

I have considered a video about Polina!!
I have considered a video about Polina!
How can you be a trombonist and not know how Ian Bousfield's name is pronounced, and presumably spelled?

You have the wrong Phil Goodwin. The one in your photograph is a conductor and Eb tuba player with Black Dyke, not the trombone player Phil Goodwin.
His sound reminds me of Lindberg sound.
Fantastic player, RESPECT ❣❗❗❗
very talented, thanks for sharing
Can't wait to feel inadequate
You will
So inspiring!
Would like to see any videos/recordings/solos of Dennis wick (LSO). Also Michael Hext (the first bbc winner). Thanks.
He played tomasi at age 12? That is insane haha
Great tone.
I love the intro!
THE VINE BOOM HELPME
Wow...great!!
Awesome
Could you make one on Bob Taylor? Thank you Carole Paul Trombonist
Nice video:-)
In conclusion: Peter Moore is very good at trombone.
In conclusion: this comment is accurate.

LMAO that picture you used for Phil Goodwin is not the correct Phil Goodwin

Peter Steiner?
No
Wow
He made everything look so effortless at a young age its just the unmistakable sound of a professional
Wrong Phil Goodwin!!
