It was nice seeing an overview of your year of reading, with plenty of beautiful books included! I used to do a reading journal, Goodreads, and StoryGraph to track my reading, but I’ve streamlined it to only Goodreads now.
Thanks! I know Goodreads doesn’t have all the bells and whistles as a couple of other apps I’ve tried but I’ve found that their book database seems to be better.
❤📚📚❤️ Only Goodreads and my reading journal. 🤚 I loved seeing your year of reads! So many, I loved as well! My sister's favorite book from Barbara Kingsolver is The Poisonwood Bible, so I got a copy (still need to read). I love Amor Towles. Another favorite is Ken Follett. Oooo, I need to read The Moonlight Market and Blackberry Wine!
I’m going to be posting a video(when I get time to record😬) of a special bookish reading list I’ve made and The Poisonwood Bible is on that list along with Ken Follett. I miss reading literary fiction and want to include more of those in the upcoming year. Thanks for watching and commenting!😊📚
After one year, and watching all the books and different genres one has read, one notices that it has been a good year. Well, my way to keep track of my readings is with a spreadsheet, I use a free software. And I have applied the same system for other things like, tv and movie series, music, etc. I love creating lists hehe. I have read 81 books this year, and even though, reading 100 books will be awesome, I will be happy if I reach 90 books.
I love lists too! I enjoy looking at everyone’s spreadsheets and that’s a great idea about using them for TV /movies also. I often forget what I’ve watched during the year. You’ve made great progress this year. That 100 mark is tough to reach, well for me it is anyway. Maybe someday I will, lol!
I enjoyed seeing all those books and the variety is wonderful! My goal is 40 books. I’ve exceeded that and have read 43. I’m reading lots of big books like Natchez Burning and Shogun and I love getting lost in those stories.
Thank you! Great job exceeding your goal. Last year I read bigger books so I set my Goodreads to 50 and didn’t reach it but that’s ok. It’s such a sense of accomplishment finishing those chunkers and even better when they are ones you actually enjoy. I’m too intimidated to read Shogun but I’ve heard it’s really good. I hadn’t heard of Natchez Burning so I looked it up,and yes, quite the page count! Hope the remainder of your reading year is great.
I really enjoyed this video. I didn't know that MinaLima was no longer doing the interactive Harry Potter books. My husband buys me the new one every Christmas. 😭😭😭
Thank you!😊 Yeah, a lot of Mina Lima fans were upset with that news. I keep hoping something will change but as of August that’s the last I heard. My daughter always bought me mine for Christmas.
Goodreads is like an old friend I refuse to give up. Although I set a goal for a yearly number I don’t sweat it if I don’t either. I know from the sound of things you’ve had quite the year with work and it’s definitely tough to have enough hours in the day for everything.
I formally gave a lot of merit to the Goodreads ratings but I found them to differ greatly many times as to my personal enjoyment of a book so I try not to read any reviews until at least halfway or finished with a book. I don’t know about you but I love seeing the year end of all I’ve read in one place.
i think youve seen my excel sheet and my calendar hows the beastly Suitable Boy coming? i need to get back on my koontz journey slewfoot looks soooo cool, any pedo in it??
You and Jiun were who I was thinking of when mentioning the spreadsheets. I find those interesting to watch. Well, beastie boy is going like molasses. I’m currently recording a vlog this week talking about it. Slewfoot has no pedo. It’s really a great creepy read and I look forward to reading a couple other of his on my bookshelf.

I want to write down my book journey but I havn't started it yet...... Love the Harry potter books :) :) This was a very cozy video. Thank you :)
Thanks! I love looking back on the books I’ve read from year to year and seeing it written down in a journal of sorts.

I log my reading on Goodreads and StoryGraph but, I also have a notebook where I write them all down too! 😅
So many great reads!! I also love Libby! 💕
I would love to do Storygraph because I love seeing the pie charts etc but don’t seem to keep it updated-2025 Goals???
@ That could be a great goal!! Maybe do weekly updates and move the info from your journal to StoryGraph?
I use Goodreads as well. I haven’t counted yet but I know I am down on my reading numbers this year.

I use GoodReads to keep track of the books I read, but that's all. I could care less about the ratings.
