I was literally JUST about to speak on that exact point in Imagine, lol. That wall of sound gives me goosies from head to toe & I feel it down to my core! I swear more big named solo artists need to have them on their albums. So many say how much they admire them & what they do & that they would love to but not but a few actually do. And it's on PTX stuff not theirs.

The way his gaze was piercing when at 5:12 he sang, “look right through me”. Phenomenal! Mitch & Matt brought spectacular harmonies the likes of which we’ve never heard so clearly before! I subbed because I like the way that you react - you're not talking over the video, you're not looking away or closing your eyes or singing along. People who do that are missing parts of the song/video and they should be reacting to ALL of it. Pentaholics will find you (I did) and they will like you. Keep up the good work.
Ah sometimes I will mouth the words to certain songs and dance because I am enjoying it but I do not talk over the video. I have my settings set now where the song sound when playing is the #1 thing and my voice is 2nd. I have to admit though that this was not always a setting for me as I am still new to reactions on youtube. I have been doing them for about a month and half and I just recently got my settings right I think. But i will always look for something to improve on for better quality. Sometimes I close my eyes for a bit because I am feeling the song but I try to watch the video as much as possible while listening. I try to comment on both the video and the music. Some songs I will pause often and some i hardly pause. I have learned though to roll the video back a bit when i pause so nothing is missed and the transitions are heard better. I also try my best when i pause to wait for a certain part of the song to stop and catch it before the next transition starts so that I can comment and not interrupt an amazing part of the song. I have struggle with how to do these the best way in the beginning but I have been learning and trying my best to keep doing better. Thank you so much for your input. it honestly helps guide me into better things. I will still be me regardless but I want to do good reactions that the majority can enjoy. I am sorry this has now become a novel, lol.

Did you notice the background, by chance? I almost missed it the 1st time too, because it was so subtle, & the "top layer" of visuals so simple & mesmerizing on its own... But for me, the background also added to the feeling of the lyrics. 😊
I think "Hauntingly dark" is a good description of the song, and both their arrangement of the song and the video imagery fit that perfectly. Hauntingly dark, but beautiful at the same time.
My adult daughter and I saw them in concert in 2018 with VIP. When my daughter met Kirsten all she could say was "you're even prettier in person." Kirsten gave a very genuine "thank you." She is gorgeous and a very nice person.

Have you heard the original _Mad World_ by Tears for Fears? I would not classify it as a "strong song" -- it's just sort of poppy with above average lyrics. It took like 20 years for the song to be restyled slower, more haunting, and "strong". This was for the movie _Donnie Darko._ From that point forward, you are absolutely correct, whoever covers it needs to keep its strength as in the movie. To the best of my knowledge, no one has bothered to try to restore the original "pop" flow of the song. IMO that is a good thing. BTW, you did not comment about the shadows or ghostly images of the singers in the background. While that sort of thing was not done directly in _Donnie Darko,_ I believe tonally it fits in very well with the movie.

I feel like i chose my wording poorly in this. Sometimes when i am tired and thinking about a lot of things at once I struggle to put my thoughts into correct wording. When I said strong, I was meaning it in an emotion powerful way. Like the original song to me gave me the powerful emotional feeling so instead of really phrasing it that way, i just said strong. I fail, lol
For all of with Anxiety, we can Identify with this song. The 'shadow selves' walking behind them starts out going forward and they reverse and start going backwards. This is superbly shot and their emotion in their faces and voices just show how we feel when we are in an anxiety attack. 10 seconds in when Matt hits us with his first low note I got chills, and when Mitch said 'See right through me', I choke on a sob. The climax has been called “wall of sound”, which happens in a number of the songs. That 5-part harmony is a killer!

This reminds me of Michael Jackson's Earth Song, with the slow tempo, which Pentatonix would do wonderfully.
One of the nice things about a Capella groups is they each have a unique sound to them so PTX sounds different from Home Free and VoicePlay.
