She appears to like it which is what matters most. For those people who have not had issues with hair loss, you don’t understand how it makes you feel. If your hair does not look good, you do not feel good. Carla did a great job in spite of what she had to work with. Kudos to both of them for the courage it took for them to allow us to view the entire process.

I am not a professional but I feel that she is doing too much to her hair. She probably should let her hair rest and just get treatments to restore the health of her hair. Also, be sure to eat healthy food and drink a lot of water. ❤
👆👆This is so important. It took a broken ankle 2022 and a broken left foot 2023 for me to realize I could have a Vitamin D deficiency and I did. I don’t do dairy. My bones were popping like raw spaghetti noodles. I was running daily thinking I was healthy 🚫

I don't think that bleaching her hair is beneficial to healthy hair growth, but I understand that's what she wanted and hopefully she can keep up with caring for blonde hair in order to prevent further damage, but I digress. Her hair turned out cute though 😍

But the creative problem solving of Ms. Carla, the Black hair whisperer, lol, calmed my nerves so I enjoyed the process.

I wish she had just gotten a colored rinse instead of harsh bleaching since she cut off all her hair to start fresh on a new haircare journey. I really don't like the yellowish blond. I'd prefer it toned. That's her hair and her choice though.

A lot of these protective styles are not protective when the hair is braided too tightly, too much hair is added or when left in for too long. Idk what happened to this lady but I feel for her. She should see a trichologist or dermatologist and someone that specializes in natural hair to get her back on track. Bleach, heat and glue extensions are the last things that this lady needs, no disrespect ik you're just giving her what she wanted... We gotta learn to just leave our hair alone

Moderation and wisdom is key in our response to what our scalps are telling us.
Balding and excessive thinning/ shedding is NOT the normal outcome of an effective hair regimen.
The instinct to pause is not a natural one, given the severity of her hair/ scalp but once she discovers the SOURCE of her problem, hopefully she can take the appropriate steps to redeem her look.
Bleach may break the hair but at least it's not damaging the roots unless you get a really bad burn. Even high heat can travel down, people use heat to make hair grow less fast as the heat travels through the hair to the root. People think that just stays on the outside hair too. So many things that get done are so bad for hair growth. They already start doing the little kids hair once a week, all tight in brads the kid sleeps on or pigtails. Keeping in any hairstyle for a whole week or more is terrible.

I think that it is perfectly okay to give a client options and especially since she has a lot of damaged hair. Its also okay to say no to her and explain that the platinum blonde color won't be doing her hair any favors. I understand giving a client what they want but educating a client and helping them see the benefits of growing the hair while treating the scalp and dealing with the already present hair breakage is a better option for them in the long run. I also don't think this hair color brought out her truest features. At this point she should visit the salon weekly for deep conditioning treatments to prevent further damage and to encourage hair/scalp healing.
Beautiful job! However, I think a darker color would look better. An ash brown or a dark ash blonde may look great on her!

The yellow hair takes away from natural beauty. Looks damaging. She is really pretty and dark brown with her own hair would have been attractive with her features.
You mentioned that the bleachy blonde wasn't your first choice for color and that it was showing her scalp, what color do you feel would have been more beneficial for her considering the amount of hair loss? Listening to your explanation of this client's desires leads me to believe she won't keep this style long. I think she will be back to an unhealthy hairstyle soon.
Hello. I preferred jet black because it makes hair looks fuller. But she kept the hairstyle for about a month because it looked better as the hairstyle got older. Now all her hairstyles color is the platinum blonde

Carla, you did an excellent job with whst you had to work with. I would have given her what she wanted. A natural look outlined her edges and allowed her hair to breathe and grow with the treatment. I would have encouraged her to use the products.

With those patchy areas of thinning, she should also see her doctor and have some blood tests done to make sure there isn't an underlying medical issue. Styling issues could be partially involved, but might not explain the entire picture.

She looked pretty cut a little of the hair from being in her eye's/face she needs to come back to you so you can remove the hair to prevent from damaging her Hair & also you have to keep bleach or color hair oiled. Ms.carla make sure you let all ur clients no to come back to you so you can remove added in hair & how much you charge to do that not everyone is good when doing that themselves even when you give them instructions. You did an awesome job. Also make syrup you get all your clients cell number's to check on them when it's time to come back to see you. If they care about their hair growth & to maintain their hair. I like it and I like the color. I thought the eyebrows were too dark against the blonde and adding the hair in the top toned down the eyebrows and really gave the cut the edge it needed 👏🏾👍🏾

I never thought I'd disagree with Carla, BUT I really think she should have done what the client asked her to do initially. The client is looking for low a maintenance style and she didn't get that, she received a very high maintenance style that isn't wash and go. There was too much emphasis on "not looking right" rather than a plan to het her scalp and hair back on track with a style she can maintain at home. The customer was right to want a low cut to start over. The Bleach abd the the extentions... way too much. 😢

Carla, I love how you prefer miracles. I think sometimes you have to really tell clients whats best for the healthiness of there hair. If they respect you as a stylist and trust you they should respect and go along with your decision. Clients dont realize somethings the do to there hair is not in its best interest and then what you make miracles when all fails and why they cant achieve certain looks. Black woman please take the time take care of your hair and educate yourself. Keep being an stylist 😊❤

Hello that style was a last minute change. She wanted all her hair cut off and color so she didn’t had to maintain her hairstyle. So I thought that was a hairstyle that was easy to maintain. As the style got older it laid better. And she kept it for awhile
