When l saw Shawn Johnson, and Nastia L in 2008 after not keeping up for about 10 years ...l knew the sport had become so difficult it would never be the same! Shawn's beam routine _BLEW ME AWAY!''_ l'd never seen anyone so solid! No bobbles, unbelievable tumbling! You could hear the sound of her landing on that beam HARD! l _still_ go back and watch it! lt's one of those routines that are unforgettable!
Alex Liáng I am not a gymnast, and I do belive that they are incredibly difficult, but uf they really were that underrated, no one would use them and they would use something as difficult but with a higher value (?) Idk thats how I see it
Marina Plana I've only seen one gymnast ever for each of these, and I know the side somi with a half twist was done so she could have a skill named after her, not for the point value. I would think that the Ariel across would be the same thing, that she wanted a skill named after her. So I agree that they are both way underrated.
My favorites are: aerial front walkover, back flic-flac with step-out in side position, back layout, full-twisting back tucked, and the tucked Arabian salto. If I had to pick one, it would be the back layout, especially as performed by Shang Chunsong and Deng Linlin. Just magical..
wow i underestimated Simone's forward jump with half twist. didn't know the name of the element and didn't know it was this hard. thanks for the video! good job as always
The only complaint I have is that I wish these videos were longer! 💗💗(meaning: I'm not complaining at all- thank you for editing together all of these amazing athletes and their skills 💗💗)
Well, there is the Grigoras - a back salto layout into a hip circle straddle swing, but perpendicular to the beam after the landing after the salto layout. It is difficult and it should be given an F element (instead of E). Then there is a quadruple turn in tuckstand - much more difficult than the triple turn, and should be given the highest difficulty grade for an element - H. (the triple turn in tuckstand is usually an G element).
I don't think anyone except Teza ever did it. I think it has a lot of inherent deductions, because it's almost impossible to do without breaking leg form. I guess that's why people aren't trying it - it's just not worth the bother.
Thanks for answering. I just figured maybe it was not allowed to pass completely under the beam or something.. I still think it's a prettier move than a side somi though. For some reason I just don't like that move. It kind of bugs me that they have to put it in.
Clarissa Vitali Barani (also Cuervo) is jump with 1/2 twist followed by BACK tuck. So it is anti Arabian (Arabian is 1/2 twist to FRONT tuck). Grigoras (Sui Lu's one) is just front tuck with 1/2 twist
+DancingRick101 wow! ONE German gymnast?! It’s definitely balanced then, even though there were like 10 Romanian, Russian, Chinese and American gymnasts!
The Lord of Reddit well sorry to tell you that it’s mostly because these are the easiest to find. Sure it would be cool to include more people, but why go to all the trouble of searching for a specific moves in a specific country that sadly isn’t as broadcasted or posted on UA-cam. Maybe just enjoy the video? Idk
@B M-Y Yes they can. At least with the D elements, there are definitely gymnasts from other countries who can. Just a few days ago Italy beat China in the team final! And you're telling me they can't execute it? Lolno
I think is Deng. Li Shanshan did a Korbut right after the layout, and she didnt touch her body with her hands while doing it. The layout showed here wasnt connected, and I think this gymnast touched her body with her arms, so is Deng
Can someone please explain what the difference is between a side earial and a side somi? To me, as someone who has very little knowledge abour gymnastics, the somi just looks like a less elegant earial because the legs aren't straight.
think of side somi as a sideways tuck whereas the side aerial is more like a cartwheel with no hands. For me the side somi was harder to learn than the side aerial
iluvsharks100 I think they were trying to use as many different gymnast to show off the different elements. Not many of the gymnast in the video were repeated more than once
the deng linlin Full Layout video was not taped close enough as I wanna to, and not good resolution enough, katylin is absolutely great, but I try to use girsl that competed world's & olympics. Thank u by the way
It depends on gymnast not her race/location/etc. A lot of great gymnasts from Asia or America are very elegant. On the other hand we have a lot of European gymnasts that you wouldn't call elegant (Steingruber, Fragapane, Akhaimova, though all of them are great gymnasts)
This is not great -- the Worley is an E, aerial roundoff is a D (it's only an E if you take off from two feet), and that's just what I can think of off the top of my head.
turbojon811 aerial RO (like Afan did) is D? Why only two feet take-off? Wasn't it in 2013-2016 CoP? I mean take-off with 2 feet would be Produnova (Barani/Cuervo piked like Memmel did) which used to be E and was upgraded to F
These videos are so helpful for gymnastics fans who love the sport but never did it themselves. Thank you! :)
Agreed. I've seen similar videos, but this is the first I've seen where they give the names of each skill.

The side somi with half twist as well as the aerial cartwheel cross-wise on the beam are so underrated, they are crazy difficult.
Alex Liáng I am not a gymnast, and I do belive that they are incredibly difficult, but uf they really were that underrated, no one would use them and they would use something as difficult but with a higher value (?) Idk thats how I see it

Both should be Fs
+Marina Plana nobody does use them. Because they are underrated. I’ve only ever seen one gymnast for each ever do it
@@marinaplana7669 sometimes they downgrade the value when the element is particularly dangerous to discourage the athletes and coaches to try them.

it was an E element in the previous code
To be honest, you didn't. The version Sui Lu did is harder, with half twist after the front tuck but they increased it into F anyway.
Never thought of Seda as particularly prominent gymnast but that layout proves me wrong. It's very impressive.
That one by Grozhkova is so graceful.❤
really good video! and great descibtion of the elements :)
thank you
Den lin lin, de las más elegantes arriba de la viga,. De mis favoritas
Fantastic video.
thank you so much
You always make the best gymnastics videos😁 keep it up
I love watching front aerials... So graceful👏😍
Teza shoud be g element
i'm sorry can you enlighten me but what's the difference between the jump forward with half turn to back and front tuck salto with half twist?
I rewatched this a couple of times and couldn't see the difference either! Would love to know the answer.
Ok, the back layout AND the tucked Arabian salto.
The only complaint I have is that I wish these videos were longer! 💗💗(meaning: I'm not complaining at all- thank you for editing together all of these amazing athletes and their skills 💗💗)

What the actual ... Someone got a hold of your Code of Points and just started drawing shit in there.
What are you talking about?)
Does anyone else think Jiang Yuyuan's Rulfova is flawless
Correct if Im wrong, the Kochetkova was upgraded to E during 2013-2016 cycle. Now it’s back to being a D.
Nice music. Is that free music??
perfect ♥
thank you very much
At 2:46 is that move still allowed? because you never seem to see it nowadays.
I don't think anyone except Teza ever did it. I think it has a lot of inherent deductions, because it's almost impossible to do without breaking leg form. I guess that's why people aren't trying it - it's just not worth the bother.

Isn't the Worley is a E skill?
Roy Wilson.C it is
IMO the free aerial was always the EASIEST. You can see where you are going to land through the whole skill.
The Full twisting back handspring should be an E element for sure.
Where’s the liukin in this?
great 💖
thank's
How about the back 1/4 to handstand?? I think Anna Pavlova used to do it.
That's a C-element. Would be kind of strange if the ¾ to handstand was the same value as the ¼. :)
love it all - but it missed the moves names after their gymnasts :)
I can not believe there are g elements
Remember when Amy Chow did a standing full in Pike position?
kras118 ya that was crazy, wonder the difficulty
Sui Lu Grigoras I'm in love
Lovely and amazing ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Omggggg this is so cool
I don’t understand the different between Biles front tuck with half turn and the Sui Lu’s one

Thank you
in love with your channel, but it would be nice if we saw some gymnasts from other country's like Canada, Brazil, GB , Germnay ec
Alexander Lang that awkward moment when there is a German gymnast in the vid...
+DancingRick101 wow! ONE German gymnast?! It’s definitely balanced then, even though there were like 10 Romanian, Russian, Chinese and American gymnasts!

What about a front toss
ThANKS for the information!!! :)
how about the one armed onodi?
great video :)
Goodness!
Cool vid!
The Teza should worth a F, and other elements with the same style should bem more valorized
They downgraded the value for safety reasons. It's too dangerous.
grz.bravissime
I believe, Worley is E not D
The Worley is an E
You didn’t put the liukin
The Liukin is a C
Trap beats and gymnastics? What’s not to love lbr.
I could’ve sworn the Worley was an E and the aerial roundoff was a D.
Love the sport but honey those flip flops for me hellaaa noooo.lol
curious as to why you didn't use shawn johnson and deng linlin for the last one
iluvsharks100 I think they were trying to use as many different gymnast to show off the different elements. Not many of the gymnast in the video were repeated more than once
Bree Robinson ohh i just thought that deng linlin and katelyn ohashi (not shawn johnson my mistake) had form that was a lot better that's why
the deng linlin Full Layout video was not taped close enough as I wanna to, and not good resolution enough, katylin is absolutely great, but I try to use girsl that competed world's & olympics. Thank u by the way
The European girls have such a beautiful elegance when they do gymnastics that I don't see in other gymnasts.
Thank you (I am from Europe )
Reallyyyyy? Well whatever you say. All hail the master race.
+@@imangymfans4826 Someone is triggered and projects..

Awes
And I thought a front walk over was hard on the balance beam
looks harder than it actually is
side somi rarely perform by gymnast....
I meant to say awesome lol
thank's =)
las chinas en beam son las mejores (L)
Omg
kkkkkkkkk
Actually not sorry
