  • In this video, I demonstrate how to find and fly the "Mach Loop" in FS2020. A HUGE thanks to Pilot Pyles who 'showed me the way' so I could make this. I fly the epic Just Flight Hawk T1.A

    Very late finding this gem. Thank you, though. I have the Hawk but my goal is to hustle an F-14 around the Loop. Once I can safely remove my clown shoes I'll record it as it should be possible to set the hillside civ viewpoints where they really exist. Anyway, cheers and all the best to you. Great video.

    Nice. In addition to the regular loop you can change it up and choose a few different valleys to run and either increase/decrease the difficulty. All are spectacular, especially when you have some fog/mist hanging in the morning. Adds a bit of danger. But in a sim, danger is good. Real life, not so much

    7:21 When it doesn't even remotely look like that because your stone age 1080 isn't able to run it.
    9:35 For those not knowing: The way out is straight forward across that lake
    Now I still have to get around imagining to fly with a hell either just left or right of me. Anyway, that lake is well deserved. Gotta admire that Scottish accent :)

    • @rederos8079
      @rederos8079 2 роки тому +1

      Dammit mate, no need really to be that salty about a 1080... It's still a very powerful card that runs games that are actually well optimized perfectly. Imho, dcs looks lots and lots better than msfs, yet it also seems to run great on 1080-powered rigs. Msfs is a decently new game, so it has not had time to be optimized as well. Dcs has sometimes same kind of problem with the very newest content, (maps'n'such other stuff.) Yes, there are some more powerful cards out there, but I really do not see why say 1080 would be stone age or old.

    • @CakePrincessCelestia
      @CakePrincessCelestia 2 роки тому

      @@rederos8079 DCS runs fine on mine, I just have to crank the resolution of that Reverb G2 way down. But MSFS is a completely different story. It's literally a Powerpoint, even at low settings. I basically could play everything I threw at the card even when it sat on a much more dated 3570k. Upping to a 5800x improved things noticably in DCS, but MSFS is almost the same nightmare as was before. Probably not the fault of that 1080, I've seen people with 3090 complain. But I've also seen tons of footage in the tube that must have been taken on rigs straight from the future.
      My "pinch" of salt is more geared at the fact it's literally impossible to replace an older card, unless you're filthy rich or otherwise don't care if you have to spend thrice the amount of what a thing is worth actually.
      PS: MSFS runs like crap on WMR, it's performing way better with my old CV1, even when I crank the G2 res down to CV1 levels (being 2880x1600 total res). MS seriously has to get their ship together internally. Can't be that a 3rd party API runs just fine while their own is a mere bunch of problems.

      @@rederos8079 Yeah. And actually I'm quite happy that I do have that 1080. Initially wanted to get a 2070 or 2080 when those came out, but they were too expensive and someone else sold me his brand new 1080 from a pre-built for 450 that would have been 600. He had a 1080ti already... and now, basically the joy of flying in VR is what makes me need more power, and especially VRAM.

      @@CakePrincessCelestia alright yeah... I also got mine in almost new almost unused condition for like 280€, so I guess just under 300$... Just before all the stuff started happening with that chip shortage etc. Really happy with the graphics card, lots of power yet it also stays very cool(I manage to keep it under 60°C with its own coolers which is imo quite impressive, good job to evga with the ftw2 model.) What I really need rn for my rig is a good cpu and more ram for dcs, my current setup is barely hanging in here... And well, for the vr... I kinda wanted that at some point, in far future... But now things changed and it doesn't really bother me that much anymore.

      If you can find lake Bala it’s easy to find the loop. Start from the north end of the lake and fly straight down the middle of it. At the end alter your course by just a degree or two to the left and just keep going, you will come to the loop. Once you see it it’s easy enough to find again.

      I believe the RAF typically go at 420 knots low level in a Hawk. 7 miles a minute is handy for navigation, it's a good speed for the Hawk to manoeuvre at, and if there is an engine failure, it gives you energy to get altitude, and options.
