I'm hoping to visit Chiang Mai this summer, but I love getting to see the perspective of someone living there!
I just left Chiang Mai. I miss it so much. Currently exploring Phuket, but Chiang Mai is one of my top two places that I plan to relocate to. It’s a bit slow, but I like it and the flights to the islands and busy parts are super cheap and always available. Plus the low cost of living and quality of people are hard to find. I hope you enjoy your visit!!
$12 Good Lawd! That is great. That's breakfast and atleast 4-5 other meals. Thanks for showing everyday living tasks.
You’re welcome and thanks for watching! You’re right $12 is pretty good for what I got! People I meet here spend less than that because they go to the markets for their food. So from that perspective I am like I am paying a little more than if I went to the market. But I am grateful for all I get for $12! I know groceries in USA are insane right now.
Wow the food look so good .i can’t wait to visit
It was delicious! Thanks for watching!
Such an inspiration! How long did you end up staying? My sister and I are seriously considering a move to Thailand for a year in order to save money while living well for a year ❤️
Thank you for watching! I stayed a total of 3 months. I left and missed it so much which is why I ended up there for 3month total. It’s definitely worth visiting to see if if it’s a right fit for you. I enjoyed Phuket as well…Bangkok was okay. But Chiang Mai is small and cozy 🙂
I’m from Sydney Australia 🇦🇺 and you’re inspiring me to travel solo 😍😍
Aww thank you!!
Omg girl, you are so inspirational and courageous! Great content! Keep them coming! Followed!
Thank you so much!!🙂
Yassss getting it in by any means necessary. 💪🏽
Absolutely! Summer body loading 😅
Thanks I enjoyed all of your information get gurl
You’re welcome! Thanks for always watching Jowanna🙂. Hope you’re well!
Great details. Food is cheap. You're doing a great job of staying focused
Thank you! Yes, food is really cheap and the best part is the quality of it! Chiang Mai is a great place to come to for slowing down and getting focused 🙂.
Heading to chiang mai in 7days, thanks for sharing
You’re welcome!!
Thank you for sharing
My pleasure! Thanks for the watching!
Pretty inspiring vlog Tasha! I'm bout to graduate college and was thinking of making my own traveling blog and Chiang Mai was one of the destinations to go to. I just have to figure out what job i can get to support me to go do what you are doing. Thanks for giving me some hope in the future with this vlog :D
Thank you for watching! I love Chiang Mai! Hopefully you can find something remote and be able to move to Chiang Mai. The good thing is that it’s a low cost of living (for now).
@@tashajourneys Yeah thats what I've heard. Been looking forward to sit back and enjoy the cheap but wonderful food there again ... just have to find the right remote job for artists like me haha
🤣😂🤣The KFC shot. Great job on staying focused on health goals! The night markets will take you under. Love the overview of your day!
Thank you for watching! I am really making sure I stick with hitting my health goals. The night markets will definitely take you under!!!😂
❤ Beautiful blog sis
I want to come work in chaing mai as an English Teacher
Thank you 😊. I met a few people in passing that are full-time English teachers.
Hello 👋🏾
Watching your vlog in April 2024. What is the area in the city that you had the meet up. I’m looking at tgat area because I might be teaching there in November. Thank you 🙏🏾
Thanks for watching! I was down the street from Nimman Mall when I did the meet up. That is the general area tourist stay in when first arriving because of its location.
Awesome! So glad you are focused on your health while traveling. $12 for all that is amazing! All these brands…sponsorship? Kidding.
Thank you, I am too! I had to create a routine by staying out somewhere for awhile. Sponsorships coming this year! Speaking it everyday all day. 😊
Yeah all that for $12…it’s giving USA grocery prices circa 1993 😂🤣
Hi Tasha, enjoyed your genuine comments. Why not consider moving closer to Nimman? Rent is way tooo high
Thank you for watching! I did ultimately relocate to Nimman area. At the time I came I didn’t know anything about Chiang Mai or the area I wanted to live in. I stayed in the Nimman area for a few months before hopping to the next country.
Great content. Yes, please share the hair situation. What about the language barrier?
Thank you for watching! ✅ I will get to working on the hair video 🙂. When I first arrived there was and I would use Google Translate. Now, not so much because I stay in an area where long-term travelers are. The restaurants/stores in these areas usually will communicate in basic English. I am starting to communicate with more Thai people now versus just fellow travelers.
Street food is where is at, be careful though, consume in moderate portions lol! 🇹🇭 🗺🍢🍤
😅🤣 street is the best!!! I try to consume in moderate portions!
Thank you for sharing sis. I’m moving there in May with my two kids ❤which area do you recommend?
You’re welcome and thank you for watching! Make sure you join the Brothas and Sistas of Chiang Mai on FB for more information on areas. I recommend staying in different areas of Chiang Mai first before committing to a lease of any kind. I loved being near One Nimman shopping area for the gym and a lot of foreigners tend to be in that area so it’s easy to meet people.
Hope you enjoy the rest of your stay in Thailand. Are the menus or public postings also in English? Just curious as to how you navigate your ways and know where you are going?
Thank you! The menus and most postings are in both English & Thai. If something is Thai only I take a picture with Google translate to see the English version. Google maps and translate are my life lines since I have been traveling. Thanks for watching 🙂.
Metro Detroit ❤!
♥️♥️♥️
Great video. I'd like to know how do you get about? Do you book taxis in advance or haul it from the streets? Yes, I'd like to know how you maintain your hair without handy products. Also what is the name of the area you want to stay in?
Thank you for watching! I typically use the ride sharing app Bolt or Grab. They work like Lyft and Uber. In the area I was staying in, in the video, taxis and buses were not common. The taxis are typically Tuk Tuk 🛺 and are WAY more expensive than a ride sharing app. I took a Tuk Tuk taxi down the street once because I had my luggage and it was 200 baht compared to a 60 Baht car ride in ride sharing app. I typically pay cash and tip the Bolt drivers because the app takes a cut of the money and it is already a low cost.
Would you mind sharing the area you said you liked
Thank you for watching. One Nimman area was my preference to meet fellow travelers. but I know after awhile I would prefer to be in a non-busy area off the beaten path where I stayed at for one month which was near the Ruamchok Market and about a 5 minute car ride to Central Festival Mall.
Also did you struggle to find makeup in your colour?
I don’t wear any makeup, so I never looked. Sorry.
Hey girl im going to chang Mai this month, where can you get your braids done and how much does it cost roughly?
Hey! I think I paid $80 usd equivalent. NubianSpeakin Speaks does a great job! She is on IG and Facebook. Make sure you join Brothas and Sistas of Chiang Mai Facebook group! You will find her in their too.
@@tashajourneys thank you so much I really appreciate it ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Sawadee ka, are you still in Chiang Mai. I'm black too traveling looking for other sisters to connect with.
Hi! I am no longer in Chiang Mai, but if you’re on Facebook I highly recommend you join Brothas and Sistas in Chiang Mai because their is a lot of opportunities to meet sisters🙂
Are you still in Chiang Mai
Hi! Unfortunately not, I left in July!
I was seriously considering moving to Chang Mai, until I found out about the TERRIBLE air pollution - no thanks...
Yes, burn season is pretty rough! Thanks for watching!
It’s difficult living anywhere unless the countryside somewhere. Because I lived in Ghana, and omg, terrible air pollution, I was sick all the time. Now in Dubai, and same. I just wear a mask, have an air purifier and I take trips all the time to the mountains.
Please i need contacts
Facebook groups! Chiang Mai expat groups has tons of meetup opportunities etc!
do you believe that pattaya is safe for blank women
I did not visit pattaya , but the women I met in Chiang Mai had nothing but positive experiences there.
Wonderful Vlog❤. I enjoyed it, but please take care of that cut. I hope it wasn't deep. You have your tetanus shots up to date?
Thank you! It wasn’t deep, thank goodness.Tetanus shots are up to date!
