- The Spitfire ruled the skies during WWII and now an aircraft that lay hidden under a Calais beach for 40 years is about to go up for sale. The Spitfire mark 1-A was shot down over Dunkirk in 1940 - but after being painstakingly restored it's been returned to its original glory and could fetch more than £2m at auction.
