Hey pat, could you take a shot at remixing Long, long, long? Its one of my favorite harrison songs but no single mix of that song really sounds fantastic to me, elements are always excluded, or too low in the mix typically. The 2018 white album remix comes closest to an ideal version, but I’d love to hear your take on it.
It is songs like this showed why the Beatles were ahead of the game when recording original material. Yes the Beatles made very many memorable recordings, I think All My Loving is one of their better songs. Off an album,in this case With The Beatles, where another pop group would have LOVED to put All My Loving out as a single. The Dowlands recorded this number and was produced at Joe Meek's recording studio in Holloway Road North London. The Beatles own version of All My Loving is just far too superior and no need to state any further.

A few questions Pat, what software are you using to separate the vocals, also to layer them? What software are you using to create the stems? I am interested in doing my own work on my Elvis collection, mainly the alternate takes, especially the binaural recordings. I think a lot of room for improvement to his body of work there.
Hi Tim. I use UVR5 to create the stems and then Cubase and Wavelab to remix those stems. The great thing about Elvis and the Beatles are the number of alternate takes and live versions that are available. I am able to create stereo backing vocals by layering the different takes. A lot of the remixers use splitting software on the vocals, but I prefer layering. It produces a much cleaner, less distorted sound. Purists don't approve though!
John's and George's background vocals are amazing. Never before have they been layered so well and so distinctive. Great stuff, Pat!
