I see them in every grocery store in Japan every summer.

100 years ago, when I was on Okinawa (well more like 40 years ago), almost every little corner Papasan store had Ramune. . .you pressed it down to open, but half the fun was "popping" the marble by slamming your hand on the opener (yes, sometimes you would get it all over you, if the bottle had been shaken) and most of the Marines called it bubblegum soda (they had a hard time saying Ramune). . .but favorite drink is Calpico (original flavor only). . .and here in Las Vegas, I can find both in my supermarket.

That’s great! Calpico is one of my favorites.

We were visiting San Diego this week and of course that meant several several stops at the Mitsuwa store. Since I had viewed your video about Ramune I checked out what Mitsuwa might offer and found Ramune in three flavors: Lychee, Melon, and Peach. I didn't try them as I am more of an Asahi Super Dry beer fan on the rare occasions I have a special beverage treat. Just thought you might like to have a Ramune update for San Diego at least.

Nice! I used to buy them every once in a while at Mitsuwa in the Bay Area when I was there.

You screamed like a girl, Matt! LOL. 😄 I've managed to find Ramune sodas in some of my local grocery stores.

It is definitely a good gimmick. The novelty of it is fun and I have seen an old one of the marble bottles under someone’s house in a Miyazaki film. It may have been in Arrietty.
The plain flavor sticks out in my mind. I don’t remember the other flavors too well. I have had 3 or 4 flavors and there was I think a cotton candy one that was really good.
Is there any drink that Okinawa/Japan residents think is an American drink that is in every house but really isn’t?

The marble soda is too hard to open. When I'm out and thirsty, I need something quick.

I like the original flavor, but don't really buy it. It's readily available here in Hawaii, Japanese, Korean, local stores, and a lot of different flavors.

What the...!? The second add before your video was all in Japanese. It was for the Follow me app. I guess you have crossed some kind of threshold for your regional viewers or some kind of UA-cam algorithm magic.
