- Lake Jocasse in western South Carolina is one of the deepest reservoirs I've fished. This highland reservoir has steep banks and depths over 400 feet. I explore the upper sections of this unique fishery with my buddy Hans.
Good details man! I like how you explain what you're doing.
Most of my videos are like that. I was a kayak fishing guide for 10 years, so breaking down what I do is…. what I do.
Now you'll have to come back aiming for that South Carolina State Record Smallmouth! Hey, it might as well be YOU who catches it Jeff.
As clear as that water is, it might take fishing it at night.

@@TheLittleStuff, from what I've read that's when the current Record was caught there at Lake Jocassee, after nightfall.

Is it possible to catch trout from the shore in winter?
It wouldn’t be possible to hike to where we were, but there’s lots of other bank accessible water.
@@TheLittleStuff oh thanks
Yes, you can fish near the boat ramp where they stock them. The former state record rainbow was caught from the bank near the boat ramp. Big trout feed on the stocked trout, so using a trout colored crankbait might be a good choice for the big ones.
@@dvrmte oh wo
@dvrmte when the trout get stocked are they all around the lake or just near the boat ramp
